Sean 'Diddy' Combs to perform at WrestleMania
By Joey Styles

STAMFORD, Conn. — Three-time Grammy Award winner Sean “Diddy” Combs will perform live April 7 at WrestleMania 29 in front of more than 70,000 fans in attendance at MetLife Stadium with millions watching worldwide on pay-per-view.

How to watch WrestleMania 29

Combs will also co-host the Superstars for Sandy Relief party with WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon as part of the WrestleMania Week festivities and serve as an ambassador for WWE’s Be a STAR anti-bullying initiative.

“WrestleMania is one of the biggest spectacles in the world and I’m looking forward to performing in front of millions on April 7,” Combs said. “I’ve always been a fan of WWE and I’m excited to support these two important causes, Superstars for Sandy Relief and the Be a STAR anti-bullying initiative.”

It’s not Combs' first appearance at a WWE event. At WrestleMania XXVIII, he introduced Bad Boy recording artist and protégé Machine Gun Kelly, who performed “Invincible.” And at Tribute to the Troops 2010, Diddy performed "I'll be missing you."

What does Diddy have in store for the WWE Universe at this year's Show of Shows?

James Steele 03-28-2013 03:14 PM

I pray it is only 1 song. We don't need another Kid Rock clusterfuck that completely kills the crowd.

Emperor Smeat 03-28-2013 03:22 PM

There is rumors of at least 1-3 more being possible but only part of a wrestler's entrance and not standalone performance.

Punk is rumored to be having Living Color sing his theme live.

Rock and Cena is rumored to be doing the same setup like last year with Cena trying to get Jay Z to do it for him this year.

I'd cum if Living Colour did it live. I'm meh on the Rock/Cena entrances. It dragged on too long last year.

Where are these rumors coming from?

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-28-2013 03:54 PM

Jay Z: I heard what you said about me and Beyonce at WrestleMania 19!

JayZ turns on Cena and hits him with a chair.

The Rock wins.

Dirtsheets and Twitter.

The Cena rumor started from some tweets he sent to Jay Z a while ago.

James Steele 03-28-2013 04:10 PM

I wonder if they'd have Paul Heyman powder his face and stuff to look like Paul Bearer and have him come out with the urn that has "20-1" scratched/engraved into one side with the CM Punk fist/lightning logo engraved on the other side. Heyman keeps interfering until Undertaker finally gets him and tombstones him.

#1-norm-fan 03-28-2013 08:54 PM

Is it just me or does it seem like Curt Hennig could have had an incredible face run at some point to go along with his incredible heel run(s)? It seems like when he beat Ric Flair in that "Loser Leaves WWF" match in '93, he was incredibly likable. At least for me as a 9 year old kid who helped make Hogan a star. I loved the guy. Then he turned heel on Marc Mero after that mini-feud with Hunter and never looked back. Seemed like there was some missed opportunity there.

#1-norm-fan 03-28-2013 08:54 PM

That could be worthy of its own thread or something. I don't know.

Lock Jaw 03-28-2013 09:00 PM

I marked out so hard for his 2002 return in the Royal Rumble. Too bad his run was cut short by getting drunk and fighting Brock Lesnar on an airplane.

#1-norm-fan 03-28-2013 09:02 PM

He was a face for that short run, right? It felt like he was at that point though where the company felt he was only good for jobbing to the new guys. Kinda like they did with HBK when he was "too old" despite the fact that he was still the best worker in the company even when he retired.

Yeah, a swampland full of mafia hits wouldn't work for a WrestleMania set. Maybe for Halloween Havoc or something, but not Mania.

That is apples and oranges. Curt Hennig was jobbing on HeAT. Shawn Michaels headlined a shitload of PPVs and was in marquee feuds throughout his entire 2nd run.

That is actually a really good Vince McMahon shirt. I remember I used to mark out for the character back in the day. Would love to see one more major Vince angle. Maybe he and Triple H will feud over who should take the WWE into the future for WrestleMania next year?

Mr. Nerfect 03-29-2013 03:54 AM

As a bit of a game, I sometimes like to predict the following year's WrestleMania card, just to see how much changes between now and then. Accuracy isn't so much the point as just a fun look into the future.

A lot of people are already expecting John Cena vs. The Undertaker and CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, but what match could you see The Rock working at WrestleMania XXX? Could he work against a younger roster member, or a guy that is pretty much already established? A younger roster member might end up established by the time Mania rolls around.

I was thinking that Alberto Del Rio vs. The Rock could be pretty golden though. Del Rio has got everything you need to be a top player, and he could no doubt make The Rock look good. He's also been involved in the World Heavyweight Championship picture at every WrestleMania he's competed at. The Rock winning the 2014 Royal Rumble and choosing to face Del Rio could be good stuff.

Their catchphrases also go pretty well together -- "My name is Alberto Del Rioooooooooo..." "It doesn't matter what your name is!"

James Steele 03-29-2013 03:57 AM

I'd mark out for this hardcore, but if they do, they need to go the whole way and have Punk come out with trenchcoat and hat a la Shawn Michaels at WM25.

That would be pretty damn good, and would also set the atmosphere for the match a bit more for the live crowd. I only say that because the build up prior to Moody's death has been *meh* at best.

That was a hologram? Pretty sure technology that made holograms that realistic didn't exist in 2004.
