Well... I do have work at 5am... i guess they did me a favor..

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:02 PM

Alright I'm tuned into the replay without any knowledge of what happened other than the tail end with Triple H winning (of course). So now I'm ready for some ACTION. Woooooooo

I don't get it....When he was huge the first time around, he won the title, and they boned it by making him HHH's bitch.... This time around, he's even bigger, and when they finally get the chance to pull the trigger... they make him HHH's bitch.

HeartBreakMan2k 04-05-2009 11:04 PM

I mean.. Orton was... absolutely made when he kicked Vince... and they completely... shit, they didn't even drop the ball... they threw it into the ground...

wwe2222 04-05-2009 11:05 PM

2 Thumbs up to HBK/Undertaker and Ricky Steamboat...Steamboat looked great considering age and the fact he hasnt wrestled in a couple years.

Overall this may have been my least favorite Wrestlemania.

UmbrellaCorporation 04-05-2009 11:05 PM

LOL @ the poll results

Yeah, about right.

HHH=new Hogan.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:05 PM

Wooooooooo The Fink!

Also damn this chick singing America the Beautiful is hot.

Good start.

Pegasus Crawford 04-05-2009 11:06 PM

Where's the "Loose Cannon" option on the poll?

NoJabbaNoBogRoll 04-05-2009 11:06 PM

LOL @ the ending.

I was this close to considering tuning into more WWE programming until that moment.

Maybe next year.

Stealth-Icon 04-05-2009 11:06 PM

This should be a run away poll

Innovator 04-05-2009 11:06 PM

I demand Steamboat vs. Jericho at Backlash

And for WWE creative to stop pouring dirt on Orton

KaliKot 04-05-2009 11:06 PM

but HHH is still Cena's bitch

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:08 PM

Alright MITB to open. Nice pace setter.

Maybe that's it. Triple H decided he's only willing to put over one of the new guys and it just happened to be Cena...

this stream is fantastic

Exyle 04-05-2009 11:10 PM

Glad I didn't actually buy this one. Cheers to free streams.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:10 PM

Mark Henry is 392 lbs? Bullshit

Johnny Vegas 04-05-2009 11:11 PM

I still can't believe Steamboat went at it like that....if it was just Jericho/Steamboat, it would've probably been considered a classic match.

thedamndest 04-05-2009 11:11 PM

How did they miss that stream?

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:11 PM

YESSSSSSSSS FINLAY OLD SCHOOL JACKET

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:12 PM

I have never marked out for Fit Finlay in my life and I just did

Can't say it'd be a classic, but it would have been much better than what the actual match was.

For a guy that is probably in his 50s, AND Jericho being in it..i think it would've been 4* at the LEAST. Of course not a HBK/Hart match, but definitely an Old School/New School WM classic.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:16 PM

I think I would love Kofi Kingston if Michael Cole didn't call his matches.

"The controlled frenzy of Kofi Kingston" fuck off Mitchell

DOn't get me wrong, I marked the holy hell out for Ricky. I love him to death, but i just don't know how good of ring shape he's actually in as far as cardio goes.

Could it be that the first time around you had a green Orton that was horrible on the mic and couldn't rest hold his way into a decent match? Could it be that the majority of smarks on this board were constantly cursing Vinnie Mac, asking how he could possibly put the belt on Orton?

And I guess I'm alone in thinking this now but I still think he's boring as all hell. He still sounds like a damn robot on the mic, and no, he does not have the workrate needed to make you forget about that.

Where did all this Orton love come from? Has he ever had a good match where he wasn't completely carried?

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:20 PM

Holy shit Shelton

The Gold Standard 04-05-2009 11:21 PM

They built up the match so much and it was very disappointing. The match just didn't do anything for me. It was very boring and made me go home unhappy after a Mania, I don't think I ever felt that way after a Mania

Was he green, yes, but, he was fucking over, and sometimes that is more important. His character was over with the ground, so they turn it a complete 180, make him a pussy, and then have him lose to HHH.

This time around, he's suppose to be THE heel in the company. I'm not a huge Orton fan, but it makes no sense to build him up as this huge heel, this huge threat, and then make him look like a bitch. Workrate isn't everything, and tonight, WWE through out the best opportunity to make Orton.
Whatever they do with him now, he'll never be what he could have been, because ultimately, they just threw that out the window.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:22 PM

lol Kofi is fucking awesome

Christian hasn't done shit yet

The only thing holding Steamboat back was his stamina...he got noticeably (and understandably) tired by the end of the match. Previous to that though he was doing great. At that point I wished it wouldve just been Steamboat and Jericho. I really wanted Ricky to win.

KaliKot 04-05-2009 11:23 PM

I still dont get how they could make No Way Out so awesome but WM so crappy

Xero 04-05-2009 11:25 PM

Random thoughts (did not read the whole thread for obvious reasons):

Piper and Snuka looked like shit but Steamboat was on fire. With a little more conditioning (he blew up half way through) I could see him going another run. At the very least I'd like to see one more Flair vs. Steamboat.

Michaels vs Taker.... Yeah, match of the night and probably match of the year. It started off extremely slow, but once you got mid-match, after Taker took that sick dive, it picked up and more than made up for it. Ridiculously great near falls. AWESOME spots, especially the skin the cat to the Tombstone (With Michaels kicking out, HOLY SHIT) and Taker getting frustrated and using the Elbow Drop, and it lived up to my expectations. And my expectations were fucking high. 5 stars with ease.

We now have an infestation of Cena clones. Someone call the exterminator before they breed any more. But I have to admit I marked for Basic Thuganomics. If Cena had cut a freestyle I wouldn't have minded him winning.

Orton/Triple H was extremely interesting and I really liked it. Very different type of match. Nice and slow and a lot of mind games. I think they played off the fact Triple H couldn't use weapons or go all-out really well. Obviously second best match of the night.

Overall, I'll give the night a 9/10. That will probably lower with time, but aside from Kid Rock, the Divas Match and Rey/JBL the night was really enjoyable.

Again. Taker vs. Michaels was one of the best WWE matches I have ever seen. Even with time I see it easily staying within my top three matches of all time.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:25 PM

JR and King both just called Christian's move the Unprettier

nice

RGWhat316 04-05-2009 11:26 PM

I am so pissed right now. I really expected Orton to win, but he was just buried 6 feet deep again. HHH winning just proves that he hasnt changed, he is still the guy that buries people. Aside from MITB, Hardys, and Taker/Shawn, this was a very disappointing night.

The way Ricky was looking, they could've had a 20 min classic. Jericho could've definitely carried the load with Ricky getting in offense here and there. Maybe some good counters, roll ups thrown in there. I think it definitely could be a WM great. You saw how hot the crowd was for it.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:29 PM

Love how blatant they are about setting up ladders for specific spots in every MITB

Supreme Olajuwon 04-05-2009 11:33 PM

fuck Kid Rock

bring back that Pussycat Dolls chick
