lol Are you serious? Yeah his game can get annoying when shots aren't falling but when he's on he's on. His game looks mad ugly either way but wishing him to go to another team is borderline retarded, without him the Celtics wouldn't have won shit last year. As far as this series goes I'm more disappointed with Ray Allen considering he couldn't do dick for the majority of the series with J.J. Redick guarding him

The Celtics where 1 game (granted it was a 20pt game) away from the Eastern Conference finals this year, so that's pretty legit seeing how KG was out and Scals was logging major minutes. Scals was a healthy scratch for every playoff game last season (pretty sure he only even suited up for 2 of them when Tony Allen hurt his thumb) so that is pretty ridiculous he was one of the main scoring options off the bench. Only problem is none of the Big 3 are getting any younger so the window of opportunity is getting smaller and smaller for another championship. I wouldn't be surprised to see Davis go to another team, he is going to want to be a starter I bet. I'd like to see Marbury back, Mikki Moore can bounce tho. I'd wish the same on Tony Allen but they just signed him to a deal last summer for some reason.

Random thought but I'd like to see Marcin Gortat from the Magic get more minutes, I know it's hard with Howard but in his limited role he always seems to be doing work. Plus every time Howard missed a game during the season/playoff it seemed like he logged a double/double.

SammyG 05-18-2009 03:35 PM

Gonna say Cleveland in 6
and Lakers in 6

DaveWadding 05-18-2009 03:43 PM

Lakers frontcourt gonna get massacred by Denver's.

Jeritron 05-18-2009 03:51 PM

I can't believe you tried to compare Bynum's absence to losing KG.

Try Leon Powe

SammyG 05-18-2009 03:59 PM

Does Denver really have THAT much of an advantage? Odom Gasol and Bynum gonna get dominated by Nene, K-mart and Birdman? Come on.

Also, who on that team can guard Kobe? Dahntay Jones or whatever? Come on.

Jeritron 05-18-2009 04:05 PM

Paul Pierce can guard Kobe

SammyG 05-18-2009 04:55 PM

too bad paul pierce is out fishing now, huh.

Yes, they do, because the Nuggs 3 guys are fierce. The Lakers frontcourt is softer than a pillow.

Doesn't matter who guards Kobe... as long as the Nuggs keep on the other 4 guys, Kobe could average 80 a game and it wouldnt matter.

IC Champion 05-18-2009 06:04 PM

Im sorry but if Kobe even averages 40 a game, Lakers are winning.

I think it's more of how their absence affected their teams, more than comparing them as players. Not a chance the Lakers would have gotten embarrassed like they did had Bynum been in the line up. Not saying they would have won, because no one knows, but it would have been a better series for the Lakers.

Denver wont stop Kobe, and if at least one of our bigs (Bynum, Gasol, Odom) plays well, the Lakers will win. There's no way Denver will stop all three of them.

when he's on, he's on... not to be confused with a player when he's on, he's off....

He's a selfish player, he gave a speech opening night about he didn't event want to be a Celtics... but "since they made a trade and got KG and Allen"...

Yeah, the team did good considering all, and that's not my issue... just sick of Pierce and his crap and spending 1/2 his press conference talking about "injuries"... he never takes blame himself..

just mad annoying, doesn't mean i'd cut him, or trade him for nothing... but equal value... yeah, I do it..

He's not an MVP, he's not a team leader.

As for Davis... I think a lot of it will have to do with money, and with Ray, Paul and KG not getting any younger I could see him staying here.

I worry though with his age and weight issue, if he gets a big deal, he's not going to keep his weight down.

Juan 05-18-2009 10:31 PM

*sig*

McLegend 05-18-2009 10:43 PM

The Sixers are going to be interviewing Tom Thibodeau.

He should be the new coach.

I was trying to say that his game looks mad ugly either way, its just that when he has a bad shooting night it looks so terrible because he puts shots that look awful, he isn't a "pretty" shooter like a Ray Allen. People just don't notice seem notice how awful the shots look when he is hitting them, which happens a lot. I haven't heard all of his speech from before the 1st game and I don't really care about it anyway. I did notice people calling into WEEI and bringing it when flicking through the stations so I'm not surprised you brought it up. All I know his with him the Celtics wouldn't won have the NBA Championship and he was the MVP of that series, not to mention he's a consensus All Star. If he brought up injuries a bunch of times I guess I haven't seen it, I only saw one quote where he mentioned how this year was still pretty successful considering all the injuries they had, which I would agree with. I don't really see that as making an excuse but maybe that's just my opinion. As for him being a leader I don't really know, I'm not in the locker room or anything but I would have to think he is after hearing the way guys talk about him in the media.

Just a quick question, do you think it was selfish of him to ask if he could guard Kobe in the NBA Finals last year when he wasn't initially?

And for the Lakers/Nuggets series everyone is asking "Who is gonna guard who?" but each team presenting some really interesting match ups going both ways. I think it will be a good series.

McLegend 05-19-2009 08:57 PM

The Fuckin Clippers get the 1st pick... That's terrible.

Blake Griffin's career is over.

DaveWadding 05-19-2009 10:07 PM

#14...

Earl Clark or Eric Maynor....c'mon.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-19-2009 10:17 PM

lol Clippers

IC Champion 05-19-2009 11:52 PM

LAKE SHOW!!!

Juan 05-19-2009 11:54 PM

What a hard fought victory. I love it

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-20-2009 12:01 AM

Pretty much what I expected, hopefully JR Smith's injury isn't serious. That would suck, even though he didn't play all that well tonight he's an exciting player to watch and huge off the bench for Denver obviously.

SammyG 05-20-2009 12:22 AM

What a fucking game. Almost had a heart attack. We showed heart when it mattered. GOOD JOB LAKE SHOW.

SammyG 05-20-2009 12:23 AM

I underestimated Denver by the way. They showed so much resiliency and heart. They fight for every board. I respect that. Not so much JR Smith and Kenyon and Birdman, but yeah. Big ups to them. Still though, go Lakers, obviously.

Skippord 05-20-2009 01:22 PM

if only the Nuggets could make some fucking free throws

McLegend 05-20-2009 01:38 PM

And not have a 6'2 player trying to inbound over a 6'10 player.

SammyG 05-20-2009 03:26 PM

Excellent read by Ariza.

ROFL @ staples center offering to host Raw

SammyG 05-20-2009 06:15 PM

From PWInsider:

Monday Night Raw will be held in Los Angeles' Staples Center, according to Los Angeles NBC affiliate KNBC. The network is reporting that World Wrestling Entertainment will be holding a press conference later today to announce the move.

Raw's move was neccesitated by the Denver Nuggets' NBA Playoff game, which has brought a ton of publicity to the situation.

There is no word yet on how tickets to Monday's event will be handled. As of this writing, there is no listing for the event on Ticketmaster.

The 2009 edition of Summerslam will also be held at the Staples Center in August.

A Captain should ask for that, but they should also understand when they need to pass and make others better.

You're right, he is always an ugly shooter.

Also, the point about they wouldn't win last year without him is moot because they wouldn't have won without Allen and/or KG...

I'm not saying he's a horrible player, I've just been sick of his attitude for a long time... and this year it just seemed to stick out more.

IC Champion 05-20-2009 08:27 PM

I've always had a dislike for Paul Pierce.

SammyG 05-20-2009 11:30 PM
