He must get lapdances from your mother.

The Rogerer 09-12-2013 12:58 PM

I remember finding it unpleasant that you could become a drug dealer/pimp in Vice City Stories. I know the games were originally based on ludicrous ultraviolence, but since then it seems to have leant into the sort of people who just think general gangster wankery is cool. Unless this is Rockstar so leaning into their parody of America that they've fallen down a Mitt Rogney hole and are now living the parody.

Kane Knight 09-12-2013 01:08 PM

Isn't that the American dream?

The Rogerer 09-12-2013 01:12 PM

It is a massive ball drop that scotland doesn't properly claim GTA as a cultural export. Or maybe they want to avoid the stigma.

whiteyford 09-12-2013 01:22 PM

We claim everything.

whiteyford 09-12-2013 01:25 PM

Is there any of it still done in Scotland though?

Drakul 09-12-2013 01:27 PM

All of it but the audio, I think. American DJs and voice actors.

whiteyford 09-12-2013 01:32 PM

For some reason I thought it was done elsewhere for the last few games.

Drakul 09-12-2013 01:38 PM

No, the only move was Dundee to Edinburgh for GTA III and beyond. Still created in Scotland.

Nah, only the PSP games and ports have been outsourced and they're done in Rockstar Leeds.

Drakul 09-12-2013 05:01 PM

Reviews are coming from IGN and Kotaku on Monday, if anyone is interested. I'm sure a lot of info will come from them.

Kalyx triaD 09-12-2013 05:43 PM

Don't need anymore info.

#BROKEN Hasney 09-12-2013 05:46 PM

There's a lot of places in the US selling it already it sounds like, people are snapping them up and selling them on for a premium since it's before launch.

Thankfully, you've gone dark and won't see it.

Kalyx triaD 09-12-2013 06:07 PM

Why would I read paid ads anyway? We're all pretty set on getting this thing.

JimmyMess 09-12-2013 07:59 PM

I can see people getting way too angry playing this. Like if you're the sniper or whatever in a mission and you miss or something...

El Fangel 09-12-2013 09:45 PM

V more days gents, V more days.

Requiem 09-12-2013 09:45 PM

Just preordered on amazon

People getting angry over a video game? Come now. That's so unlikely.

I agree, who would get mad over a game.

El Fangel 09-12-2013 10:05 PM

Oh, what is this? Fangel and KK interacting? How is this shit going to go down!

El Fangel 09-12-2013 10:08 PM

Not actually a spoiler, I promise.

In Europe, PSN pre-orders can start downloading the game at 3 p.m. British Summer Time on Sunday, September 15. North American gamers can start their pre-loading at 3 a.m. ET on Monday, September 16.

These pre-load times only apply to the digital version of GTAV for PS3. Rockstar’s latest GTA won’t be available through Games on Demand at launch.

Had a quick play of it before I went out tonight. Fuck me, how they got those graphics out of a 360 is beyond me.

Savio 09-13-2013 08:20 PM

How?

Drakul 09-13-2013 08:25 PM

You played it already?

How screwed am I that I will be playing on a 30 inch SD TV? Dreading I'll play the game after 2 years of hype and buying the CE only to find it's like Skyrim and the text and HUD is, literally, an unreadable miniature smear on the screen in SD.

Planning on picking up an HD TV before Christmas but want to play GTA V before then, of course.
On the topic of that, where would I find an HD TV suitable for gaming, at least the same size as my current tv and at a reasonable price?

OssMan 09-13-2013 08:39 PM

I couldn't even read anything in GTA 4 on a TV like that.

Also, when GTA 4 came out, everyone was saying it was the best game since Ocarina of Time. Nobody seems to think that any more. I'm assuming the same thing will happen for this game.

Try Amazon Warehouse. I got a TV off there at less than half-price. Apparently it has a minor cosmetic defect somewhere (not on the screen obviously) but it's invisible.

Drakul 09-13-2013 08:42 PM

I could play GTA IV and RDR perfectly when the Xbox was set to normal ratio rather than widescreen. Only issue was the phone in Gay Tony and Lost and Damned.
Judging by the gameplay video, the HUD and text is very small.

I've been watching a lot more streams of this than I thought I would be. Something about watching it keeps me hooked. Looking forward to Tuesday.

Kane Knight 09-14-2013 12:58 AM

You wouldn't have to if Hasney would just SHARE.

Kane Knight 09-14-2013 01:14 AM

There are people claiming to have gotten banned for playing the retail version of the game early. Probably a lie, but just a heads up.

Drakul 09-14-2013 07:12 PM

There are people who preordered the game from Amazon just days ago and already have it in their hands.
Meanwhile my preorder hasn't even been dispatched yet.

Drakul 09-14-2013 08:38 PM

Would this be a good tv for gaming?
