I hope LB improves, but RB worries me a bit since Bradshaw always gets hurt.

Not only did he get cut by an IFL team, but it was the IFL team he had 30% ownership of. They took away his 30% in the team away due to breach of contract.

Nice. Apparently Scott Fujita and Drew Brews played a part in convincing that filmmaker dude to release the audio of Greg Williams telling players to injure the 49ers.

I guess it was so they could blame everything on Williams and take the heat off the players.

Supreme Olajuwon 06-01-2012 02:13 PM

oh apparently the players association told him to do it too

niiiiiiiice

Yeah, I agree. Danny Ware is a solid spell back but he is injury prone too. I think the success of the group hinges on the young guys. I thought that they should have used Da'Rel Scott in more situations last year. Guy is a burner. Get him on the edge or involve him in the screen game. Hopefully the situation now gives him the opportunity to get in there a bit.

Mmm... Drew Brews...

I haven't been keeping up on the offseason as much as I should have been I guess.

Apparently Martellus Bennett is now a New York Giant... and he now weighs almost 300 lbs.

Thing with Ware is that I can't remember seeing him break a tackle or two and gain 5 more yards. Bradshaw has those runs where he refuses to go down. Jacobs was like that until he forgot he was an angry 270 lbs black man.

Well I do like that Ware will take what the defense gives him and isn't flashy. He is a north south runner and I like that about him. Bradshaw plays with the heart of a giant (no pun intended.) I think Jacobs started playing to preserve his career more than anything else. I can't say I necessarily blame him.

I think the problems with the running game have to do primarily with the offensive line. The running game simply hasn't been the same since David Baas replaced Shaun O'Hara. Say whatever you want about any of them but I think Baas simply doesn't do as good a job directing the line as O'Hara did. Unless there was a philosophy change in the coaching that we can't see as fans that's my interpretation.

I will say this however: it seemed to me, from a fan perspective, that the line played better at times when Baas was out hurt and Boothe was playing center. I like Mitch Petrus too. Kind of wish he would crack the starting lineup at one of the guard spots.

Osi Umenyiora agrees to a restructured contract. Early word is that he's still only signed for this year, but his salary has now doubled.

CSL 06-01-2012 08:17 PM

outstanding, keeps my Superbowl 42 jersey "in date" for at least another year

Gonzo 06-01-2012 10:08 PM

I think that's a good alternative to a long term deal. Assuming he produces like last year and can stay relatively healthy that's not bad.

Innovator 06-03-2012 04:11 PM

Justin Blackmon blows a .24, DUI.

Ermaximus 06-03-2012 04:15 PM

Publicity for Jacksonville!

Krimzon7 06-03-2012 05:16 PM

Wait!!! Somebody is talking about the Jaguars!!!! HOLY SHIT

Ermaximus 06-03-2012 05:58 PM

Not so much about the Jags per say Krimzon, but Blackmon. I'm sure the media will have a field day with this.

James Steele 06-03-2012 08:20 PM

He is supposed to be one of the "good guys", too. Oh well, nigga in braces still a baller.

Supreme Olajuwon 06-04-2012 11:36 AM

looks like we're going to have scab referees this season

Innovator 06-04-2012 11:43 AM

A NFL referee salary ranges from 24,000 to 70,000...not bad for 20-24 days of work.

Do they have to pay for travel expenses? Obviously, experience comes into play but I wonder how much more money refs make for playoff games or the Super Bowl.

Crimson 06-04-2012 09:18 PM

Fuckin refs are ridiculous..Ibaka didnt even touch Manu and they call a foul.

Gonzo 06-04-2012 09:36 PM

The ref issue will probably get settled before the season gets going.

Crimson 06-04-2012 11:11 PM

haha wow wrong thread

Ermaximus 06-05-2012 10:01 AM

If the rumors are true, I think the Jags should avoid letting Mike Thomas go just yet. I have a feeling Blackmon isn't going to get much playing time with all this drama he's causing right now.

ClockShot 06-06-2012 04:57 PM

Giants are keeping old man Coughlin around until 2014.

Emperor Smeat 06-07-2012 05:35 PM

Pats release Chad Ochocinco after just a single season into his 2-year deal.

Not a huge shock since they stocked up on a few WRs this offseason and their double TE package meant less work needed for WRs. It also didn't help the lockout affected him the most on the team due to the lack of time to get used to the Pats system.

They tried to trade him before the end of the day but nobody was willing to offer anything for him.

They'll probably win another Super Bowl before then.

It's 2012 and both T.O. and Ochocinco are unemployed. All is right with the world.

You're forgetting Coughlin will go through 5-20 "FIRE THIS MAN" weeks before he wins another championship.

Gonzo 06-08-2012 12:16 PM

I'll admit I fell into the trap a couple years ago. I wanted them to get rid of Coughlin and bring in Cowher. :$

I'm glad he has stuck around though. Coaching carousels are never a good thing.

Evil Vito 06-08-2012 12:43 PM

I gotta admit, I thought the Giants should have fired Coughlin if they collapsed for the 3rd straight year, just to hit the re-set button on the franchise. But after winning another SB, I'll never call for his firing again. He can stay the Giants coach for life if he wants to.

SammyG 06-08-2012 01:20 PM

Jeff Fisher is in a music video for some reason

Still fucking hate Kevin Gilbride. Either that, or Eli is a horrible audible caller.

Gronk-time in New England extended for another 6 years due to the team and Gronkowski agreeing on a 6-year, $54 million extension.

It makes him the highest paid TE ever in team history.
