BigCrippyZ 02-15-2011 12:02 AM

Man, The Rock took everyone to promo and electrifying school tonight. No one on the roster got the consistent pops that Rock got tonight.

Snowden 02-15-2011 12:02 AM

Single greatest moment in the WWE in the last couple of years, EASY.

Volare 02-15-2011 12:03 AM

That was a pretty sick intro for him too. Loved the vamped up theme btw.

TazFTW86 02-15-2011 12:04 AM

This raw ending was fuckin great! Marked out like Striker did at the Rumble w/ Booker T!! Diesel, Booker, Rock, Austin , HBK, Taker and Triple H returnin this year, fuckin sweat!

glanville6 02-15-2011 12:05 AM

Haven't enjoyed anything this much since HBK and Bret hugging in the ring last year

ron the dial 02-15-2011 12:05 AM

still marking out. god i love wrestling.

Rock Bottom 02-15-2011 12:05 AM

The intro was pretty good because of who came out. That was pretty neat the way they showed some white chick in high heels and I was fully expecting it to be something retarded like some country singer or something.

He did say he was there to stay, I wonder what the hell he's talking about. I have a lot of gay respect for The Rock and this will force me to watch this crap for a while if he sticks around.

jkman61494 02-15-2011 12:07 AM

A lot of credit has to go out to the crowd in Anaheim. That's one of the better crowds I have HEARD in a long time. They were really up for the Bryan/Miz match and of course went INSANE tonight for The Rock.

J Dogg Funk 02-15-2011 12:07 AM

Someone please find or post the You Tube link. Without a doubt - one of the greatest moments in WWE history is when The Rock called John Cena a damn bowl of Fruity Pebbles.

Londoner 02-15-2011 12:10 AM

Shakyness still hasnt fully stopped, just had to do some bits of works to calm myself, doubt i'll be sleeping, lol. Just can't bloody wait for WM. Was already looking forward to the HBK HOF moment but now the rock all night along with the cena feud, and much more and hopefully Del Rio/Edge to finish it off with a classic, this is gonna be a huge show!

One of the best Raws in a long long time. The Miz/Bryan match was amazing. Someone tell me now Bryan isn't freakin over. He and Miz had the crowd the entire match.

Morrison was on his game tonight too. Loved the intensity his character showed tonight.

The Rock. What else can you say. He still freakin has it. I seriously wish Mania was available to buy tonight I would buy it right now no questions asked just after that promo. Amazing. Surprised they went the Cena route but so excited they did. Could set up something ridiculous.

Sycophant 02-15-2011 12:20 AM

Also safe to say that we have a new candidate in the loudest pop ever heard in wrestling thread. That was unbelievable! Not to mention that The Rock broke the website...

It's great, Beiber and Rock at Wrestlemania, you have a divide, Attitude Era Peoples Champ Rock vs Cena Beiber Peoples Champ holy epicness.

I see The Rock making movies through WWE Films and helping elevate their promotion.

The Rock and young wrestlers would make good movies like Miz, Morrison, etc..

He said he was never going away. I'm pretty sure that means he'll always be around and that he'll never stop making appearances but I don't think he's talking about coming back to wrestle or staying around.

Sycophant 02-15-2011 12:21 AM

Also, I'm so pumped at the opportunity that this creates for a much needed
Cena heel turn...

rob11 02-15-2011 12:25 AM

The whole promo should be up soon. Video is really slow in coming in.
That pop was one of the loudest ever. Truly amazing.

TheAdamEvansFan 02-15-2011 12:27 AM

The Rock appeared live on tonight's show and received a major ovation from the crowd. The Rock said that he has finally returned home and wasn't back for the money or to promote a movie, but he was back for the fans. He thanked the fans and said he would never, ever be going away.

Lock Jaw 02-15-2011 12:28 AM

The Rock took Michael Cole from "heel commentator" to little bitch jabroni in 20 minutes.

Mr. Pierre 02-15-2011 12:32 AM

Really fun show tonight :y:

-Pleasant surprise with Punk going over Cena, but I guess this guarantees that Cena eliminates Punk on Sunday. Oh well. Punk getting a win over Cena shocked me.

-Miz/Bryan was a pretty good match.

-Orton continues to kick Sheamus' ass constantly. They always put on good matches, but they constantly remind us that Sheamus is a step below main event talent in the booker's eyes.

-Can't wait to see Taker next week. He's the best, I don't care what anyone says.

-THE ROCK!!! Amazing! I loved every minute of it! Can't wait to see him at Mania.

J Dogg Funk 02-15-2011 12:32 AM

BigCrippyZ 02-15-2011 12:34 AM

I love how Ryan Clark posted earlier today that the WM guest host would be announced tonight but was not going to appear. Now he's taken down all of the posts where he said the guest host wouldn't appear.

It wasn't the quality you expect from the WrestleMania main event. I agree with that. I think WWE was stupid for doing the "Triple H gets DQd he loses the belt" stip as that match needed a lot of fucking violence and instead we got primal scream HHH and Orton doing the same shit he's been doing since he discovered a gimmick other than arrogant young punk.

As for the promo, it was good, I can't deny that.

However, it benefits from the fact that 1) it was the first in-ring appearance from him in SEVEN years. 2) He referenced internet stuff like the "issues" between him and Cena. 3) He attacked Cena - the guy that the IWC hates the most.

I guess Rocky was all about "cheap heat" back in the day, why would that change?

Well what other way would you garner heat/pops that isn't ...

1. playing to the crowd?
2. talking trash to your opponent/enemy/etc?
3. Dropping your catchphrases?

I take "cheap heat" as when someone drops an f-bomb just for shock value, or whatever. Thats how Shawn Michaels refers to it and he's one of the best promo guys ever

It's more specifically the first point. The whole "...has come back..." is cheap. As are the sing-along catchphrases I guess.

Plenty of people have cut incredible promos without resorting to those tactics. Dunno, I always took issue with The Rock's "by the numbers" promos. Never really "did it" for me.

There is more to a line than just the line itself...There is a big difference to how the Rock delivers a line and how Cena does

Londoner 02-15-2011 08:43 AM

^ So so true. I can see Cena(oh, see what i did there) always tries to do what The Rock does with the crowd but fails very very badly at it mostly. So glad he's back, fuckin ell, its been too long.

:y:

I'm not a Cena hater or anything, but for the last however many years, Cena has ripped apart everyone on the roster without the counterpart really every getting the chance to really bury Cena. I've been craving somebody to just come in and unload on Cena just one time. And fucking Rock comes in and does exactly that. Cena doesn't get the chance to come out and get his shit in on The Rock, which he would of got with everyone else.

It was amazing. It was almost like Rock was the spokesperson for every single fan of the Attitude era last night. And watching the little Cena fans booing and getting frustrated was incredible.

Many past and present WWE superstars wrote messages on Twitter following The Rock’s return to WWE on RAW. Here’s what the following people said about The Rock:

John Cena: "CeNation. Rock was in rare form tonight. It was great to see him enjoying himself out there. Even if it was at my expense. I’ve been Called alot worse. Just glad to see him back in action."

CM Punk: "Rock owes me fifty bucks for going 20 minutes past the hour, making me miss my valentines day reservations at Nobu."

Big Show: "Did anyone notice the chill bumps on Rocks arms as he gave his catch phrase? The Rock is back!"

Jim Ross: "Got 2 hand it 2 WWE…HBK in HOF, Austin on Tough Enough, Rock to host/star @ WM27…MUCH more on the way. Look out Atlanta!"

Val Venis: "I am just as happy as anyone else the Rock is back. As long as he sticks to the mic, we are good. Cuz his wrestling ability is questionable. Not hating on Rock. He is AWESOME on the mic. His charisma is unmatched. But lets be honest, Rock>Hardy & Venis>Rock! HONESTLY!"

Taz: "GREAT JOB by Rock! Miss having steaks with him & Dud’s after shows!!! Great times! 1 of the greatest of all times!!!"

Chris Jericho: "Congratulations to one of my favorite opponents and greatest rivals on returning to the WWE. The Rock is the BEST promo man of all time…"

Steve Austin: "It was great to see The Rock back on RAW tonight…helluva promo from an electrifying cat. Great stuff heading into Mania."

I love it, WWE has Rock, Austin, and Booker back, just not together. How long untill we see these guys cross paths?

Jura 02-15-2011 12:05 PM

Bitch ass response from Cena.

Volare 02-15-2011 12:15 PM

So I've replayed Rock's theme for the 6th time now.

Watched the video properly earlier today, put the first stream I came across on last night literally as Justin Roberts was in the ring and it was a bit shit/kept pausing etc so I didn't really 'experience' it. Was some pop he got. Seems he's been going mental with those rear squat glute injection crunches, he's almost Batista big. Can't say I blame him, no wellness in Hollywood. People I've never seen mention wrestling once on Facebook are raving about it so it's done it's job. I'm guessing he might make the odd appearance before Mania before riding off into the sunset until next time. Don't really know how you could walk away after that reaction, that's what it's all about.

Jura 02-15-2011 12:35 PM

You think he might make an appearance on SD? After all, it's The Rock's show.

Like I said earlier (think it was this thread), he is going to get bitten by the bug.

They need to put him on Raw, SD, NXT & Superstars.

Fuck, make a new show solely for Rock to cut promos.

Lock Jaw 02-15-2011 02:01 PM

Give him an interview segment ("Rock's Quarry" or something) on every single show.

James Steele 02-15-2011 02:10 PM

Rock's Quarry? Really?

Also, JBL's hat does remind me of Triple H's back.

Dunno. Tried to think of a terrible pun.

Probably actually call it The Smackdown Hotel or something like that.

JimmyMess 02-15-2011 02:44 PM

And if he wants the longer version....
