I want 2009 Orton back.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:29 PM

Love how WWE has these polls but they always put one guy that they know will win with two that won't get a single vote.

I want Orton to grow his hair back. Too many bald people in wrestling as of late...

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:30 PM

Swagger beating Orton cleanly by submission would do wonders for him.

Even that I feel like doesn't warrant a big payoff though. Triple H wins the match, he beat a jobber. Even with a post-match attack, he's still a jobber who just jobbed. It doesn't make me wanna see a rematch because... it's still Triple H vs a jobber.

The only way I can see them making Axel interesting is if they put out the thought that he's a "new man" and maybe he can beat Triple H. Even if it's a fluke/requires interference from Heyman.

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:31 PM

Swagger wanted this match against Orton like a real man.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:31 PM

Punk better come back with his old mane back or at the very least his hair from his nexus/commentary run.

Oh, I agree. Triple H doesn't really need to win another match for the rest of his career to be meaningful. Curtis Axel beating Triple H would be an instant credibility boost. They should even have him do it via submission to really shock the world.

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:33 PM

Punk vs. Curtis Axel is actually a match I would be interested in. Think those two world work well together, and there's history there.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:33 PM

King comes across as a real asshole anymore. "I voted 8 times!" he just seems like he's not even trying to be entertaining anymore and just does what they tell him to do all the time.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:34 PM

Zeb and Rhodes should have a 'stache vs 'stache match some time.

I've heard him say on a few occasions that he hates doing commentary. He's pretty much just doing it for the paycheck.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:37 PM

Orton's thes press looks pretty terrible most of the time.

Ermaximus 05-20-2013 10:37 PM

Lol @ how loudly Orton told Swagger to chopblock him. It was even funnier to hear Swagger tell Orton to grab his hair.

Taken out of context one could make a pretty horrible and childish joke with this.

#1-norm-fan 05-20-2013 10:39 PM

Two strikes be damned... I want Orton to be back in the thick of things. He's an easy legit main eventer who's just floating around outside the title picture for so long and it's weird. And he's been out of the main title picture long enough where he'd be fresh again if/when he steps back in.

Like when he called Goldust's 8 year old daughter a whore? Aaah, the good old days.

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:40 PM

Swagger needs this match way more than Orton.

I agree. Besides what were his strikes for? Spice right?

King is a natural asshole. When he tries to be nice it just seems insincere.

#1-norm-fan 05-20-2013 10:42 PM

I seem to remember a match ending during a commercial break once. Some time in the 90's. I feel like it was WCW.

I think this is where they will eventually go with Orton. Especially since there are two World Titles. And Orton being fired as World Champion isn't the end of the world. They'll just have him drop it to someone in a squash match and then fire him.

I think one was for steroids. When all those guys got named on that list.

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:43 PM

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jerry Lawler should become the General Manager of RAW. He can talk, he's over and it would evolve his character. A "business-minded" Jerry Lawler can be more of that asshole everybody loves.

311 05-20-2013 10:44 PM

Gotta love when they let the matches go long.

King just needs to be let off the chain and allowed to do what he wants (within reason of course). Let him oogle divas and call Punk and his fans "Basement dwelling virgins" while casually making remarks about Fandango's sexual preferences and Ricardo and Del Rio's relationship. Essentially let him be Gertner.

Yeah, but I mean THE main title picture. Like... WWE title picture. How long can you just be scared with him? Eventually it seems like you've gotta just say "Alright, it's been long enough. We're gonna trust you here. Don't fuck it up."

No Orton and CM Punk seem like natural assholes with King the downplayed nice guy seems real enough its just that he seems to be having fun being a bastard as opposed to it being a part of who he is.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in the picture as a heel against Cena again at some point. Their stuff was usually pretty good.

ClockShot 05-20-2013 10:47 PM

Yeah, about time to wrap it up.

#1-norm-fan 05-20-2013 10:47 PM

Punk can play a decent face so long as he's still being a smartass. Orton does seem really out of place as a face though.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:48 PM

Well poo

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:49 PM

Swagger is scarily good in the ring. The dude just needs cred.

#1-norm-fan 05-20-2013 10:49 PM

Just in case there was any doubt that WWE knew who was gonna win the poll all along... Just imagine Swagger vs. Khali going this long. lol

slik 05-20-2013 10:49 PM

Swagger loses clean two nights in a row in big matches. Wonder where they are going with him.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:50 PM

damnit Swagger why'd you have to fuck up with the drugs man?!?!

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:50 PM

Does it say something about the World Heavyweight Championship that I consider Swagger's greatest achievement in the WWE actually training Michael Cole up to be a threat to Jerry Lawler?

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:51 PM

Of course Orton won. It makes the WWE Universe feel that their voting has influence.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:52 PM

Am I the only one that remembers Swagger's first match on Raw against Cena where he took him to the limit?

Immortal Moose 05-20-2013 10:52 PM

He's an invisible bully because he only does it at night.

Problem is his strikes have come at the worst times possible so even if they felt it was finally time to trust him, they'd still have some fear of the next strike randomly popping up.

Should just give him a nice long IC or US reign instead since his stardom is big enough to make the belt look credible again while also being a great way to build a new star since the "rub" would be huge if done correctly.

#1-norm-fan 05-20-2013 10:52 PM

At least Swagger looked like a threat there. Doesn't hurt him too much to look below Orton. Swagger can get his momentum elsewhere. I like that Orton doesn't lose left and right whenever they need to put the latest flavor of the month over. It's one of the biggest terrible booking things they do. Everyone going over everyone else based on who's got a big match that month.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:52 PM

I feel like I remember random things that I really shouldn't be able to keep in my mind sometimes...

True but if they don't do something with him then he's being wasted completely. If they don't want to put him in the title picture then they need to at least use him for something. It'd be a waste but if he was putting people over at least he'd have something to do.

I remember that. I think it came just before Sheamus' random WWE Title win at TLC. I still think that win should have been Swagger's.

You're probably right, but I'm bias as I love the great white so I'm happy he got that run.

Immortal Moose 05-20-2013 10:56 PM

We get the entrance :D

Cool King 05-20-2013 10:57 PM

Looking forward to hearing Curtis Axel's theme again.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:58 PM

HHH is in amazing shape lately. He should really consider coming back for one last real run.

slik 05-20-2013 10:58 PM

I guess even if he doesn't get in the title picture, it might be cool just to have him as the established #2 face who constantly has major feuds just below Cena's title feud. Build him back up and even a Cena-Orton face vs face match for the title could be amazing.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 10:59 PM

Fuck his minitron does say Curtis!

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 10:59 PM

I don't dislike Sheamus -- the guy is really fucking good in the ring to the point where some things he does (not all) amazes me. His stuff against Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler? Magic. I just think the Swagger win would have been less random. Swagger had already been ECW Champion by this point. Sheamus has feuded with Goldust.

KyleEmmott 05-20-2013 11:00 PM

There's bound to be twist, maybe a second client or a return?

ClockShot 05-20-2013 11:00 PM

All sounds like a legit push for Perfect Jr. But like most, I think there's something more going on.

#1-norm-fan 05-20-2013 11:02 PM

lol. The main event of Raw right now is Triple H vs Michael McGillicutty. Craziness.

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2013 11:03 PM

I don't think they'd be pushing Michael McGillicutty into this and put the effort into remolding him if he wasn't going to do something here.

slik 05-20-2013 11:03 PM

2 count...1 more second to win.

Paul Heyman is great.

Wishbone 05-20-2013 11:03 PM

If he uses that stupid spinny thing he used as a finisher back in the nexus then I'm really going to be upset.
