Josh Gordon facing a season-long suspension.

Josh Gordon and Justin Blackmon should form a tag team in TNA.

Giants take C Weston Richburg from Colorado State. Projected as a 3rd-4th rounder by most and Reese takes him early 2nd. Better be damn good. We needed a tackle.

Denver fills the hole left by Eric Decker with Cody Latimer. If the Thomas' and Welker show him how things are done, he could be a monster in no time.
|
The Browns probably traded up late in the 3rd to get Terrance West out of Towson, I was hoping the Ravens would have got him.
|
Gordon facing season-long suspension for testing positive for Marijuana. Sucks for the Browns
|
Silly rule or not, that can't happen. Josh Gordon, what the fuck.
|
Dear AJ McCarron,
I hated you for so long. You're from Alabama...and I root for Georgia. It's gonna be tough to initially cheer for you, when I think of how you carved my heart out in the SEC Championship game a couple years ago. BUT THEN, I think of the fact that we currently have the shit sandwich named Andy Dalton as our quarterback. He is such a perennial fuck up, that he makes it easy for me to cheer for you. PLEASE SAVE US FROM THIS SHIT EATING GINGER! Bring your game management challenges(and your fucking smoking wife) to Cincy, and deliver us to a playoff win and game manage us to the SuperBowl. Love, K7 PS: don't bother showing up without that fine piece of ass you motherfucker. |
Hard Knocks is gonna be in St. Louis....Michael Sam just got drafted
|
I was going to make a post about how all the black players had white girlfriends on ESPN coverage. Not one with a black girlfriend.
Like im fine with interacial couples I just thought it was funny that literally EVERY college player is banging a southern white girl. Then I see Michael Sam with his white boyfriend. AM I A RACIST?!?>!? |
Maybe you are, but that doesn't stop the pattern from emerging.
|
Yea we don't need to see them friggin kissing. Sickkkk
|
I'm absolutely gutted that Octavias McKoy from WCSU didn't go anywhere. As a Division 3 player I knew it was very unlikely that a team was going to invest a draft pick on him, but I figured he'd at least be one of the dozens of guys signed right after the draft. All I see when I search his name on Twitter are tweets before the draft, so if he did sign somewhere none of the beat writers for that respective team have bothered to report it. I'm guessing he may still get brought in on a tryout basis for a team, but sucks that he didn't get signed. Whether he made it to a 53 man roster or not, just seeing a guy from WCSU in the NFL somewhere would have been a big boost for the program.
|
Liking the Dolphins draft... Not all that sexy but smart.
|
Tennessee's draft:
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/tracke...team-input:ten Jake Locker's hurt and Chris Johnson's gone, so I guess we will see what happens. Don't think they can steal wins from good teams on this upcoming season's schedule unlike last year. This past season as close as some of their losses were, they could have had a 12-4 record at best. I would have been happy with 10 wins and a playoff berth. We'll see how it goes. |
Titans still have a better QB corps than the Texans do so, you've got that going for you.
|
Man i could have played in the NFL would have been a star QB. My HS Stats: Completions/ATT 7,093/8,726 Yards: 17,398 Passing TD's: 739 Rush TD's: 93

Jags should trade Blackmon to the Browns for a 1st rounder. Imagine that WR corps in Cleveland then. Blackmon, Gordon, and Austin!
Who am I kidding? Between the 3 of them they might play for a combined 9 games. |

Sean Lee is an incredible player. His body is clearly not meant for football though. Jesus...

Giants cut Will Hill following his third suspension for marijuana. He is going to miss the first 6 games of the season.
He'll probably stay within the NFC East. That's usually how these sort of things work. But whatever, fuck him. Good player but he can't get out of his own way. |
Fuck the NFL and their horseshit about weed. They act like it's just as harmful as any other drug. They've got their heads up their asses.

They have an indoor facility but I am working at the Pelicans complex attached to the Saints training facility. That practice field is right by where I am working.

Why yes, Matthew. It was very cool getting a behind the scenes view of my favorite professional sports team's training facility.
Thanks for the compliment. |
49ers and Colin Kaepernick agree to a 6 year, $110 million contract extension

Colin Kaepernick will reportedly make the most guaranteed money in NFL history ($61 million). Here's who he'll pass » pic.twitter.com/TKZVngTvZZ
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) June 4, 2014
 |
Flacco and Kaepernick will probably be linked forever by the McDonalds Mighty Wing fiasco Super Bowl 47 , but at least Flacco won a Super Bowl.
And yet people bitched that Flacco didn't deserve the money he got. Stats wise Flacco was just as good as, if not better than Kaepernick with worse recievers and an incompetent offensive scheme for the last few years. Flacco's gotten to the Conference championship too and choked just like Kaepernick did.. they,re giving him $61 mil guaranteed for essentially a year and a half and no ones thinking that's a joke..lol |
There's probably a dozen QBs in the NFL I'd take over both Flacco or Kaepernick
|
Hell, Tony Romo deserves his $55 million guaranteed money way more than Kaepernick.
I also can't wait to see what kind of deal Andy Dalton gets from the Bengals. If he gets any kind of money like that lit he might as well put on a mask and run out of the Bengals HQ the day he signs cause he's robbing them blind. |

The ruling only means he can't sue other people for using the term Redskins but if there's such a backlash towards them using it, who would want to call anything Redskins? Plus the logo is still protected through the NFL.

change the logo to a redskin potato

I keep having a bad feeling about this season for the Ravens and then I look at their schedule. if they can't go 11-5, then its probably going to be an awful year.
Bucs, Jaguars, Texans, Falcons, Titans, Browns (2) should all be wins which is 7. Colts, Chargers and Dolphins are toss ups though I think the Chargers and Dolphins being near the end of the season helps the chances of winning 2 of them. outside of Division games with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, the two toughest games will be Panthers and at the Saints. Winning in new Orleans (when its not the Super Bowl) is hard..the Panthers in Baltimore will be rough too. 0-2 strong possibility. They can split the Steeler/Bengal Series and still get 11 wins. |
You're adorable, Droford.

Location for next year's draft down to either Chicago or LA after New York got removed as a possible spot.

Chris Snee expected to announce his retirement when Giants camp opens tomorrow.
Not surprising...but still, fuck. :( Sad to know that the last of the best Giants line I've watched has hung 'em up. Diehl-Seubert-O'Hare-Snee-McKenzie 4 life. |
Ugh
|
If Snee were determined to play this year, I'm pretty positive he'd have started on the PUP list and would have missed at least 6 weeks. He couldn't even get through OTAs without his elbow flaring up. Just couldn't see a scenario in which he made the 53-man roster to start the year.
It's time. Saves Coughlin the awkwardness of cutting his son and law, at least. |
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11...layton-mailbag
Word came out of the officials' camp in Dallas on Friday that the league is going to put an emphasis on calling more penalties in pass coverage. Former vice president of officiating Mike Pereira tweeted Friday that officials are being asked to call more interference, holding and illegal contact penalties... The idea is to create more offense. Scoring is already at an all-time high, but the NFL doesn't want scoring and offensive production to drop off. The Seahawks won the Super Bowl with their "Legion of Boom" defense. While it was fun to see defense back on the podium, the NFL doesn't want to see the sport go the way of baseball, which is dominated by pitching and low-scoring games. --- Yep, let's further neuter defenses to may way for more offense. Clearly that's what the NFL needs. |
Rematch Seattle lets do this.
|
Pretty soon they'll flag the defense for hitting with their shoulders when tackling.

Not sure why I bothered checking social media for the latest Giants' training camp news. All it really amounts to is a billion posts of "OMG PLAYERS ARE ALREADY DROPPING LIKE FLIES!" because loads of guys cramped up, got dehydrated, came up lame, are sore, etc. it's like that the first day of practice for every NFL team.
I swear people read "so and so got carted off" and immediately think cart = season ending injury |

Pat Bowlen stepping down as Broncos owner to deal with Alzheimer's. :'(
30 years as an owner, 6 Super Bowl appearances, 2 titles. Great owner and a great man. |
Sidney Rice retires at age 27.
Makes sense really. Seattle had Baldwin, Harvin, and Kearse ahead of him on the depth chart plus they drafted two WRs (Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood) who would have figured to be locks for the team. That would have left Rice fighting for a possible 6th WR spot that probably would have been better served going to somebody who could contribute on special teams, like Ricardo Lockette. He still made a good amount of money in his career and got a ring. His body keeps betraying him so probably best to hang 'em up now. |
He will be back on another team.
|
Quote:
God bless Pat Bowlen. Broncos are in good hands. |
Question about Rice. How does "retiring" affect things like free agent status, contract commitment etc? I know it's come up tons of times before (Favre being a recent example) but I forget how it all played out. If a player "retires" then say, in Rice's case, his body cooperates and 2 years later tries to break back into the league, are they just a UFA at that point? Would Seattle get any compensation? What's to stop players from retiring willy-nilly to get out of contracts? (legitimate question, I do not actually know how any of it works)
