No contest sounds better than disqualification.

That was a really good way to get Taker to show up.

Droford 07-19-2015 10:47 PM

That was probably the worst title match they've had on a ppv since the crap with Daniel Bryan

Mr. Nerfect 07-19-2015 10:47 PM

I still think Brock should have won the title and then Taker shows up.

Mr. Nerfect 07-19-2015 10:48 PM

#1-norm-fan 07-19-2015 10:48 PM

Knowing Taker was gonna show up, that was pretty much the best outcome. I was quite worried they would have Taker attack and Rollins get a pin.

NoJabbaNoBogRoll 07-19-2015 10:48 PM

I guess shows end early when you're forced to cut a match at the last minute. What a shocker.

Mr. Nerfect 07-19-2015 10:48 PM

No clue who Seth faces at SummerSlam now. Orton? Sting? Kane?

Mr. Nerfect 07-19-2015 10:49 PM

Seth didn't really prove he could beat Brock, so it'd make sense for The Authority to keep testing him. Maybe they give a call to The Rock? I'm sure Rock vs. Rollins would be awesome.

Evil Vito 07-19-2015 10:50 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Even if he's past it or he should retire or whatever, I've been trying to savor each Taker appearance/match for a while now. We'll never see anyone get a reaction like him ever again.

What's with this "end early" stuff? PPVs ending 10-15 minutes early has been the norm literally since PPV wrestling began. Why does it seem like people are just now being surprised by it? lol

Mr. Nerfect 07-19-2015 10:52 PM

The more I think about it, the more I think The Rock showing up and challenging Rollins is probably the only match they could put on that would be worthy of going higher than Lesnar vs. Taker.

Too many wide spread spoilers....

Anyways, I hope they haven't been building up Lesnar as this unstoppable monster for over a year just so that the first guy who can beat him is The Undertaker.

Lock Jaw 07-19-2015 10:52 PM

That being said, I don't really want to see Lesnar straight up beat The Undertaker again either.

Lock Jaw 07-19-2015 10:53 PM

So all things considered, I just plain don't want to see that match.

Heyman 07-19-2015 10:53 PM

Step aside Sable. Taker is going to be Lesnar's new wife at Summerslam.

Actually I would have preferred that, too. Not only because of the credibility Brock brings the title but because I wouldn't have to worry for a month that WWE might actually have Taker get his win back.

Rollins vs Cena title for title? I don't know. Can't see any way Rock does it and I can't think of anything else that might justify Seth Rollins main eventing SummerSlam.

tman220 07-19-2015 11:01 PM

Sting vs Rollins for the title?

Emperor Smeat 07-19-2015 11:02 PM

PPV was really good overall. Would have gone a different way for Owens-Cena if the goal was to stretch the feud till Summerslam but match itself was great. Owens really can't afford to lose again if that's the case while Cena losing likely means another rubber match to end the feud.

Wonder if the stuff involving Bray earlier in the year gets retcon out for Taker's feud with Lesnar. Can't really portray Taker as being still that pissed with Lesnar when he had ample opportunity to get revenge earlier in the year. Did like the Tombstone City chants by the crowd though.

FakeLaser 07-19-2015 11:03 PM

Unfortunately I think we're getting Rollins vs. Orton for the title at Summerslam

#1-norm-fan 07-19-2015 11:04 PM

I'd be more than fine with Orton taking the title off Rollins.

rockman725 07-19-2015 11:05 PM

I'm a little upset it ended that way. Now there's still unfinished business between Lesnar & Rollins. I REALLY wanted to see this:

-Lesnar beats Rollins & wins the title.
-Undertaker shows up & takes out Lesnar (exactly the way he did)
-Sheamus shows up, cashes in and wins.
-Tomorrow night on Raw, Rollins gets his title rematch and takes back the belt.

Now, you have:
-Lesnar/Taker program AND Lesnar is still very strong & pissed off from losing the title TWICE to MITB cash-ins.
-Sheamus goes back to, well, nothing.
-Rollins gets the belt back, but because he lost to Lesnar, he may not be worth the investment The Authority was looking for. Insert Rollins/HHH at Summerslam.

That would have made more sense to me and kept me interested

FakeLaser 07-19-2015 11:08 PM

I don't think Orton will beat Rollins, but I think that's the match. Orton is a face, he just beat Mr. MITB. Who else is an actual contender for Rollins? Reigns and Ambrose will probably face Wyatt/Harper, Brock is going to face Taker, Cena and Owens will probably have one more go of it (Owens will make it his mission to make Cena tap)

tman220 07-19-2015 11:10 PM

where does Sting fit in?

Or they could just keep the belt on Rollins and you're in the exact same place, basically? Seems like overbooking to create friction between Rollins and HHH.

Wait. Yeah. I forgot about that. Why the fuck isn't he out for revenge against Seth Rollins?? lol

FakeLaser 07-19-2015 11:28 PM

Pretty average show

Orton vs Sheamus was whatever

New Day should have won. Decent enough match. Xavier Woods was the best part.

Wyatt vs Reigns was pretty good, I thought.

Woman's match was sloppy but a decent start. Didn't help having Brie Bella in there and it prob got thrown together pretty quickly.

Only ok with Owens tapping if he wins at Summerslam.

+50 if he makes Cena tap at Summerslam.

Lesnar vs. Rollins was shaping up nicely. Rollins, for once, got to show that he's "smart" by trying to get Lesnar off of his feet.

I guess The Undertaker thing is sorta cool if he's going to have one last run. Really fucking dumb if he "gets his win back." Lesnar should truck him, dude is like 60. I get in "kayfabe" The Undertaker is basically bulletproof but no sense in giving Lesnar's momentum to The Undertaker.

Will be interesting to see if Taker can put on a good match. His last two were bad but he got concussed at WM30 and Wyatt was injured at WM31 so who knows

Great show other than the ending. The way Lesnar looked scared and then got obliterated just didn't do it for me. Thought that was particularly horrible booking.

ron the dial 07-20-2015 12:20 PM

overall i thought that was a really solid show. cena/owens put on a hell of a match. i would have liked owens to walk out with the belt, but i'll reserve judgment until i see where they take him from here. he's got a lot of momentum for guy who has been on the main roster for as little time as he has. let's hope they don't ruin that. the taker appearance was whatever. he looked really old and completely unbelievable next to lesnar, but again, whatever. i just hope he's only planning to have 1 or maybe 2 more matches, because i don't want to see any.

Innovator 07-20-2015 12:21 PM

I'm ok with Owens losing if Cesaro ends up beating Cena. I can see Cena pushing for Cesaro to be the one to beat him.

that would work for me, too, as far as the us title & cesaro go.

The WWE will be in terrific hands if Cesaro is given the push that Roman Reigns was given last year.

Have Cesaro defeat Cena for the US title at Summerslam, and then have Cesaro eventually go over Lesnar at Wrestlemania.

He asked I think mainly because Owens has been chasing the U.S. title for a couple months now. Owens was NXT champ until a special in Japan in the early morning hours of July 4th when he dropped it, which was seen by many as a sign that Owens would win the US belt last night.

Still hope he gets one more crack at it at SummerSlam and finally wins it. The last thing the roster needs is another directionless guy with tons of potential.

screech 07-20-2015 03:20 PM

I just feel like Owens may get lost after this, especially if he loses to Cena again. I'm probably overthinking it, though because of how Rusev was made to look.

Big Vic 07-20-2015 03:20 PM

I'd like to see Reigns win the IC title in the future, I think it would help both him and the title out a lot.

To me, it is already there. Not for lack of the KO character, just the same shit different day with Cena and (insert opponent here). I dunno, they need to do something to turn KO around.

Feel like the "tap out" goes against everything the KO character stands for. If anything, just a pass out like Cena did v Rusev.

XL 07-20-2015 04:17 PM

Cena in the ring for the U.S. Open Challenege.
Owens' music hits.
Cena looks up the ramp.
Owens' from behind with a chair to the back. Few more chair shots, Pop-Up Powerbomb through a couple of opened up chairs.
Bell rings.
Owen pins Cena to win the U.S. Championship.

That makes them 2-2. Last match at SummerSlam. Hopefully Owen wins that one.

NormanSmiley 07-20-2015 04:21 PM

I guess I am the only one who will shit all over this. Owens and cena had a good match but how hard is it to rehash the same match you have been having for 2 months? Same spots virtually. Now you cant have owens still after cena he has to move on and to who? And did they tell the undertaker he was rerurning 7 minutes before the lights went out? Nice hairdo and beer belly to really sell how tough you are. No wonder he can only go once a year ,takes 11 months 3 weeks to work off that water weight. And the whole returning to fuck over lesnar would have been great if........ he didnt have a match at mania last year. Not that I should have expected much on a no. Name july ppv but this fuckery will not stand
