Feel like Sami Zayn should have made the four-way match so that fans would have a face they can actually get behind, who could realistically actually win.

R.I.P. Raw crowd

slik 08-22-2016 10:59 PM

I think Rusev will cost Roman the match...Jericho/Owens will start feuding next week during fatal fourway...will come down to Big Cass vs Seth, Big Cass gets the surprise win.

owenbrown 08-22-2016 11:02 PM

LOLROMANWINS is going to happen isn't it?! :nono:

Frank Drebin 08-22-2016 11:03 PM

Ho boy. Wwe has to be in panic mode if tonight's show is any indication.

slik 08-22-2016 11:03 PM

TV crowd booing Roman loudly this whole match

Dark One 08-22-2016 11:07 PM

If Owens really wanted to help Jericho overcome the monster face, he should have brought a taser.

owenbrown 08-22-2016 11:08 PM

Goddammit

owenbrown 08-22-2016 11:08 PM

C'mon 60 day Wellness violation for Roman Roids

Dark One 08-22-2016 11:09 PM

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Emperor Smeat 08-22-2016 11:09 PM

Meh. Reigns is never going to get the constant reactions the WWE wants without a major overhaul and just feeding Rusev to him for a couple of weeks isn't the solution.

Pretty much guaranteed its either Rollins or Reigns winning and then those two feuding for the belt for a while. All Balor's injury do was push that timetable a lot sooner than the WWE planned.

KIRA 08-22-2016 11:10 PM

Unless Owens or Rollins takes this thing I have 0 interest in RAW champion.

Dark One 08-22-2016 11:11 PM

Hoping for the Kevin Owens win, but fully prepared for it to be a Reigns win and for Raw to enter a dark age.

Reigns will be a 30-time world/universal champion by 2020.

slik 08-22-2016 11:12 PM

If Roman wins the title I have no interest in RAW outside of the cruiserweights. I can watch Bayley matches on YT I guess.

shrugs shoulders

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-22-2016 11:12 PM

Not a great Raw but Bayley :y:

slik 08-22-2016 11:13 PM

I also want a Owens win, but I would be ok with Seth getting it back

Going to laugh if Reigns win the belt since all the Wellness suspension did was just delay another title reign for him by a couple of months.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-22-2016 11:13 PM

Alot changed in WWE in my nap from 8am to 7pm recovering from 12am bus ride back home.

owenbrown 08-22-2016 11:18 PM

Maybe there should be a Nitro-esque ending where the audience throws their trash in the ring.

Lock Jaw 08-22-2016 11:25 PM

Watching second episode of Holy Foley....... still painfully "staged", even for a "reality show".........

Also I want to cane Dewey......

Dark One 08-22-2016 11:25 PM

I'm not totally surprised or really that bitter about the show. As Drebin mentioned, the Balor injury seems to have had some pretty severe ripple effects. Based on the timing of the announcement, they only found out he was going to be out for months like an hour before the show went on the air.

They were definitely more obviously filling for time tonight.

I'm just dreading the possibility that after having the balls to majorly change things up over the last few weeks, they're going to go right back to what was shitting the bed a couple of months ago.

owenbrown 08-22-2016 11:32 PM

Roman Reigns getting another title shot...

Frank Drebin 08-22-2016 11:33 PM

Thank God Cena's on SD otherwise he's in the title picture 100p. He's usually the panic button.

Eh nothing new for Vince and the WWE considering for years whenever they panicked or needed a Plan B, they always went back to pushing Cena into the spotlight. Now its Reigns and Rollins because of the brand split and WWE probably sees them as this gen's version of Cena-Orton.

Cass and Owens being in the Fatal Fourway is probably the WWE's way of making sure either Rollins or Reigns wins without either taking the pinfall loss.

Evil Vito 08-22-2016 11:40 PM

My inclination is definitely that either Rollins or Reigns will win the belt and then the two of them will be feuding (again) into Clash of the Champions. It's not what I want to see, but it's the safe choice for them in a difficult situation and they have the built-in history to go off of.

They've surprised the hell out of me of late, so it's possible that they do so again. I love that Cass and Owens will be there for potential false finishes. But at the end of the day I see no way that Cass will get a solo run this soon and Jeri-KO will probably continue on for a few more months until Jericho makes his next departure.

Fignuts 08-23-2016 12:32 AM

Just finished Raw. Had some good parts but mostly meh. Booking of Raw continues to be head scratching.

Don't understand Rusev just giving up a title shot like that. Was also expecting to see him interfere and cost Reigns of he didn't care about the Universal title shot. Really liked that feud and thought it was the best I'd seen Reigns. Not ready for Reigns in the main event again just yet.

I'm fine with squash matches but every week is ridiculous. Braun and Nia should have already moved on from the squash match by now.

Wasn't really impressed with Bayley. I know the division is slim right now with injuries and suspensions but it's another former NXT champion getting a top title shot. If Jax wasn't slaying jobbers every week she'd be a legit threat to Charlotte. Summer Rea is pretty good in the ring as well.

Dudley Boy segment was pretty good and I don't think they are done. Shinning Stars were great during the segment and Gallows and Anderson fucking shit up just felt right.

Thought a 4 way of Rollins, Owens, Cass, and Jericho was the way to go so they could give Cass the shine of just being in the match, build a wedge between Jericho and Owens that leads to a feud, and put the strap on Rollins. Lets the Rusev/Reigns story continue as well.

#BROKEN Hasney 08-23-2016 01:40 AM

Good to see Matt Hardy is the most over person on Raw.

#BROKEN Hasney 08-23-2016 03:09 AM

#BROKEN Hasney 08-23-2016 03:17 AM

The Dudleys left WWE for real.

Quote:

The Dudley Boyz' farewell tonight on Raw was a legitimate one as Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley officially departed the company tonight and are once again free agents, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

PWInsider.com reported several weeks ago that the team had come to terms for a new deal with the company. Sources indicate that while that was correct, the new deals had not yet been officially executed and at some point over the last seven days, WWE and the Dudleys amicably agreed to part ways and that the team would finish out on Raw, dropping the teased split of the team that had been built over the last several weeks.

The angle with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson laying out the Dudleys was designed to put some heel heat on The Club for ruining The Dudleys' farewell as well as leave a door open for a storyline if at some point the two sides decide to do business again.

We are told that when the farewell segment was over and Bubba Ray and D-Von returned to the locker room, the entire Raw roster as well as all of WWE management, including the McMahons, were waiting for them to give them a standing ovation and to greet them.

What the Dudleys' next move will be remains unclear as of this writing. The team returned last year to WWE, appearing for the company for the first time since June 2005. They had a run with WWE Tag Team champions New Day but of late, had not been in a featured position. The planned split appeared to be poised to set up Bubba Ray Dudley for a singles run.

Prior to their 2015 WWE return, the team had split up during their time in TNA, which led to Bubba Ray getting the biggest singles push of his career under his "Bully Ray" moniker, including a run with the TNA championship.

The pair operate the Team 3D Wrestling Academy outside of Orlando, Florida.

Fignuts 08-23-2016 03:29 AM

Such a waste. Bully Ray could have added a lot with a move to smackcdown.

Simple Fan 08-23-2016 03:30 AM

Well hell was hoping they would stick around and be taken seriously. Don't imagine they will go back to TNA if they are truly done although TNA would actually book the better.

Could add something to NJPW's tag division I think, if they're willing. They might just be looking to concentrate on their school though.

Simple Fan 08-23-2016 03:36 AM

New Day is awesome but they have really held down the tag division. I'd really like to see them move out of the tag division and go after singles gold as a team. Big E could be a Universal Championship contender.

Agree with this 100%. I think The Club should win the titles off them ASAP. I'd like to see The New Day then challenge for single honours, Xavier in the cruiserweight division, Kofi against Rusev for the US Championsip and Big E challenging the Universal Champion Seth Rollins. I'm not saying split The New Day whatsoever, just move them in a different direction as a stable before people get completely bored with them. I think a serious Big E could make a good challenger for Rollins and think people would get behind it.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 07:40 AM

I'm actually pulling for Kevin Owens to win the strap next week.

It launches on the 19th September, so I'm guessing there's going to be more announcements up until that point.

But still, that's a fantastic opening 5. Needs Jack Gallagher too and obviously Ibushi if he's willing to play ball.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 07:45 AM

Jack Gallagher should be Aiden English's tag team partner on SmackDown.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 07:46 AM

Also Daniel Bryan needs to mark out for him constantly.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 07:47 AM

Actually, I'd be fine with both RAW and SmackDown getting their own cruiserweight divisions. Brian Kendrick should be stolen out from under Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley. Kendrick, Gallagher, Zack Sabre, Jr. and Kalisto on SmackDown. It'd be presented as the more technical of the divisions, I guess.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 07:49 AM

I don't really know how the WWE doesn't just put the Universal Title on Brock Lesnar.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 07:57 AM

RAW Cruiserweight Division:
* Adrian Neville
* Akira Tozawa
* Ariya Daivari
* Cedric Alexander
* Da Mack
* Lince Dorado
* Noam Dar
* Raul Mendoza
* Sami Zayn
* Sean Maluta
* Sin Cara
* TJ Perkins
* Tony Nese

SmackDown Cruiserweight Division:
* Brian Kendrick
* Chad Gable
* Damian Slater
* Drew Gulak
* Jack Gallagher
* Kalisto
* Mustafa Ali
* Rich Swann
* Tajiri
* Tyson Dux
* Zack Sabre, Jr.

The Dudleyz didn't even get much of a pop from the crowd when they first walked out last night, which isn't much of a surprise given that their most recent one saw them almost exclusively jobbing.

Not that I disagree with that, mind. At this stage of their careers putting over other teams is what they should have been doing.

Shame Bubba couldn't get a solo run, though.

XL 08-23-2016 08:53 AM

Bully Ray would have been/could be a great addition to SmackDown's roster.

Evil Vito 08-23-2016 08:56 AM

Like I didn't even buy into the retirement storyline because I was convinced it was just a work to allow Bubba to turn. I figured D-Von would either leave or stay just long enough to have a quick solo program with Bubba before heading out and then Bubba would stick around.

Now knowing it's real I feel kinda bad.

Kofi teased a few times he's retiring once New Day are done. Career would have been pretty long by then and probably realizes he'd go back to doing directionless stuff again once they split.

Xavier might as well to focus on his doctoral stuff that I don't think he ever finished.

Yes they should have been used to put talent over but not everyone. Really didnt even build them up any since they returned. Pretty much just played off of their past runs in WWE to put the whole division over.

Also why in the world would they put over Neville and Zayn in their last match? Then Neville and Zayn go on to lose their matches on Raw. Booking on Raw is just weird.

3) Great promo by Charlotte. Well done heel promo.

1) It was getting a bit hard to watch.
2) I'm pretty much the same. Not so much with Cass though, I think Cass is great and I feel that he's got a great future in the WWE when he goes solo. I see him being the more successful of the two when they split. I'm not really a fan of Enzo, I do find him to be quite annoying at times and like you said, it's the same thing from him every single time.
3) It was good but it was very "Ric Flair-ish", which is understandable. It's crazy how much like her dad she is when she's on the mic though.

And I don't mean that in a "Why don't you like a fellow Scot?" fighting talk way. I'm legitimately curious as to why you don't seem to like him as I'm not really familiar with him.

It's crazy to think though, that there could have been a chance that I could have been training with him back in the day, as back in around the mid-2000's I was looking to start training at the same promotion where he trained and began his career, but all that fell through for me and now I'm just a jobless 27 year old bum who's fresh out of university, while he's a 23 year old professional wrestler who's recently signed a WWE contract.

Life is just too kind to me.

Disagree. That will add to its mystique.

I thought about the idea of Nia Jax challenging Charlotte too. I think Nia will work better as a babyface at this stage in her career. But given that Brooklyn were somehow anticipating the Bayley appearance, I think it'd have been a mistake to put Nia in that situation. Keep her going strong until fans really get on her side.

I imagine Seth Rollins wins the Universal Title next week and Roman Reigns continues his US Title feud with Rusev and that Jericho & Owens go and battle Sami Zayn & Neville. The big question is who they get to face Rollins for the Universal Title at Clash of Champions. Brock Lesnar would seem like the safest choice, but they probably don't want to beat him yet.

I honestly wonder if it will be someone like Big Show. Eh, they'll probably run Rollins vs. Reigns and just abandon the US Title program for Rusev. Maybe they put Big Cass in the US Title shot position?

Cool King 08-23-2016 07:35 PM

When it was mentioned on Raw that Bálor would be out for up to six months, Bálor's return instantly entered my mind.

I've got the strongest feeling that Bálor will return during the Royal Rumble match and go on to win it, and he'll end up facing Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania and go on to win the match.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 07:48 PM

I don't think Balor will be ready by then. I think he'll be in the Universal Title match, but I don't think it's going to be with the Rumble title shot. But I'm predicting Rollins vs. Balor II too.

Cool King 08-23-2016 07:51 PM

Well, it's just that the Rumble is five months away and it does all depend on if Bálor is a quick healer.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 08:00 PM

That's true. You just know Vince will get a stiffy if Balor shows Cena-like healing properties.

Mr. Nerfect 08-23-2016 08:00 PM

I can imagine they'd want the Rumble winner to challenge for the Universal Title too, in order to "establish" the belt.
