The commentary for King of Colesseum 2 is incredible, and I will absolutely be using it, if Carl creates a casual friendly mod tool to implement it, like all his others, as it's pretty technical atm.
The Colosseum games mirror actual Japanese commentary, as their excitement level increases as the match goes on. For example, there are 3 different audio files for each move varying in excitement. Combine that with the increasing excitement levels of the crowd, and it REALLY adds a lot to puroresu matches. |
Idnlike to see the commentary mods as a point of curiosity but it would take a lot to execute well
|
They've already figured out how to attach move commentary to the moves being executed in game, as well as pre match ring announcements. Just a matter of plugging it all in and posting it as a download. Given how much time these guys already spend in the game's code, I don't doubt they'll do it.

Yes.
It's kind of like Samckdown vs Raw's old GM Mode, but with much more depth and options. The Japanese version of Fire Pro Wrestling 2 had it, and it was really good. Returns also had a version of it, but it was very watered down, and didn't even allow you to use edits. However, the devs are very aware of the unsatisfaction with the returns version, so I'm expecting it to at least be as good as the GBA version. |
Quote:
|
Oh definitely, but the returns version was subpar for a number of other reasons as well.
|
Next twitter stream on Dec 11. Stated they will be announcing BIG plans for the future of Fire Pro. Likely the official Management of Ring announcement, but could also be full version release date.
|
I'm guessing full release date. Management of the Ring could be a 1.5 version and they'll want to get the PS4 version out sooner rather than later.
Also hoping for a Switch announcement |
Well they said previously that Management of ring would be presented before the end of the year. That combined with the leaked screenshot is a pretty big indicator. I do believe we'll be getting a release date as well tho.

I typed up a summary of the Twitch chat the best I could. If you'd prefer to watch the full hour livestream, the vod is up at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/208823505
- Dave & Director talk about the move poll. How there was one for US & one for Japan. The excuse for some of the moves not making the cut (BIG WIGGLE :angrymob: ) is that they were too much of a singular signature move where it moved into legally murky water they've been trying to avoid. Testicular Claw avoided that trouble since it's become kind of a staple of various wrestlers. On the Japanese side, Airplane Spin was top of the list. Director was on the fence about putting in something so classic over something new & fresh but he went with the old school appeal on the Japanese side. Although the first batch of moves came from that poll, those aren't the only moves they'll be adding. So there's more to look forward to in the future. - Dave notices a comment in chat about how it would be nice if there was more boxing moves. Director also agrees. So we'll see where that goes. Director mentions that they added back S-1 mode so it'd make sense to add more strike moves for that. - Director is getting nervous about the upcoming announcement. - Three big announcements today 1) Charity DLC for Yoshihiro Takayama on 12/18. It'll cost $3 and you get an official licensed Takayama character and a new move, Spirit Rush Punch. All proceeds, outside of Steam's cut, will go to Takayama's charity foundation to help with the cost of his rehabilitation. He was recently injured in the ring and paralyzed from the neck down. This deal was worked out by the president of Spike who's been around since the early days of Fire Pro and wanted to help out in some way. Regarding the new move Dave mentioned if you look up his match with Don Frye, you'll have a good idea about what you're getting. Somebody in chat asks a question...yes, you'll be able to use this DLC in online matches. 2) Director is really nervous about this next part. Dave & Director cheers and celebrate with a beer. About what? Fire Pro is leaving Early Access 12/19. The game will be on sale from 12/19-1/5 for 33% off. After the game leaves Early Access, the price will rise to $29.99 (please let them elaborate and don't kill them yet) The past 5 months they've been in Early Access has felt alot longer than they were. The game is progressing nicely thanks to the feedback of the community. They feel fairly comfortable with releasing the game in its current state. So thank you. *Director nervously drinks his beer* The reason why they're leaving Early Access is so they can turn their attention towards the PS4 version. The details of the PS4 version they can't quite release yet but they'll be making another announcement in early January. Dave's assistant is monitoring chat and they're relieved to find out that chat isn't tearing them apart like Director thought they would. So thanks again *more beer drinking* He was under the impression that everybody was going to dogpile him. If it was up to him, he would have stayed in Early Access for as long as possible but they knew this day would come where they'd have to move onto the next stage of development. They want to emphasize that just because they're leaving Early Access doesn't mean that more content and game tweaking isn't on the way. 3) Fire Promoter (aka Managment Mode) is coming in January as the first piece of paid DLC. Japanese fans are already aware of what management mode is. Fire Promoter is going to be based off of the one that was found in Final Fire Pro for the GBA. But that doesn't mean much to the western audience so they're going to go into details. In a nut shell, it's a mode where you get to manage your own wrestling promotion. You want to raise talent and book matches to increase the size and scope of your promotion. There's all different kinds of ways how you can grow your promotion. Putting on good matches is the bedrock but there's all sorts of other little stuff like signing broadcast contracts, finding new talent or maybe even stealing talent from other promotions. If you do steal talent, you have to be careful since you can build up animosity with another promotion. You can also partner up with other promotions and do cross-promotional matches and things like that. To give you the scope of the mode...you need to have 14 other promotions and each promotion has to have a minimum of 6 wrestlers signed. Which means you need a bare minimum of 100 wrestlers to begin the mode. Personal created wrestlers and Steam Workshop wrestlers work in this mode. Dave made a mistake. You also need free agents so you'll probably need a minimum of 150 wrestlers. So if you're the person who'd be interested in management mode, you'll probably have far more than 150 wrestlers. Director clarifies. This is more like creating your own wrestling alternate reality. Regarding paid DLC: It's out of the team's hands. Director was so worried about the response that he couldn't sleep the night before but the chat isn't rioting which is a nice surprise. The community seems supportive. The whole point of World was to bring the Fire Pro franchise back to life. They've been trying their best to not nickle-and-dime you to death but these are business matters and thank you for understanding their situation. The good thing about paid DLC is that they'll make a profit and they'll potentially be able to put that profit back into the game so they can keep developing. The team would like to work on the game as long as possible and, if the DLC does well, that could open new doors in the future. There's no fracturing of DLC. If you buy the mode, you get the mode. No loot boxes or anything of that nature. There will be a season pack that contains Fire Promoter and one other unannounced major piece of DLC for a discounted price. [my note: it sounds like these two are the only major pieces of DLC they have planned at the moment and this is a test run to see if it's a feasible business model for Fire Pro] More details will be released in the next live stream in early January. On the Japanese side, all this stuff like PC gaming and season packs is a complete unknown. So it's an experiment to see what they can do with this business model and where it can go. They almost forgot to mention. 4 player online multiplayer will be launching with the game when it leaves Early Access. So that's something to look forward to. |
New move that comes with the Takayama Charity DLC is amazing. Ripped straight from the Don Frye fight.

Ver. 1.0 patch notes
Quote:
Fuck yeah, finally got a full nelson. Two of the big three old school moves that have been absent from firepro have been put in with this, and last updates airplane spin. Now we just need a hammerlock (preferably multiple variations) and we're all set. Running middle kick is great to have, as now I can save the running head kick for the people that use it, like Shibata. Double rotation moonsault is cool, but I dunno who uses it. Saw the list of new parts and got super hype. Then I saw "anime". Ugh. |
Was really hoping for an improved UI, particularly in edit mode. Overwrite helps but it's still a mess.
|
Richochet uses the double moonsault
|
Really? Never seen him do it. Sure you're not thinking of the 630 Senton?

Im certain

And of course the sales boost. There hasn't been a NJPW game on console in over a decade. Wrestling fans in Japan are going to be all over this. |
Next update on January 12.
Fucking hell, new Fire Pro stuff and Dragon Ball Fighter Z beta. Good weekend for gaming. |
I'm saving up to finally get a Xbone. FighterZ is a reason to finally make the jump, as Xenoverse 2 wasn't enough for me.
|
In the Famitsu interview, Matsumoto said that he wants to collaborate with other organizations and make Fire Pro the ultimate licensed wrestling game.
Jesus. |
I want there to be a big bright gold font in all caps that says "RAINMAKAH!" when Okada hits the move.

I bet the UK indies would be down too. |
I would almost call DDT a lock since they have been integral to promoting the game in japan, and there have been fire pro related events in japan for years.
|
Also, I don't think njpw ever actually owned noah, but regardless, the relationship was dissolved over a year ago. That was the main reason for njpw pulling all its wrestlers incuding suzuki gun.

Fantastic.
|
Come across anything worthwhile lately Figs?
Also so out of touch with the mods, What's been added that cool? |
Fire Promoter has been delayed in order to make improvements. Originally edits were going to be locked after the mode starts and couldnt be edited, like the gba version. They are making it so you can change them now.
Dunno how long its been since you checked out mods, but the biggest since the camera mod is the match booking mod. Allows you to choose who wins in simmed matches. You can choose win by any method, sigs/finishers, or specifically one move that will end the match. Can also book count outs and broad ways. |
I might have to get into that.
I could never quite figure out how to get the Trons to work. |

Handful of modders have gotten together and started making new moves for the game. released the first pack yesterday which contains13 moves
|
Just checked out the move pack. Here's what we got so far.
Double Underhook Piledriver - Front Grapple - Piledriver Repeating Elbows to the Arm - Front Grapple - Elbow Chop Punch Combo - Corner Grapple - Punch Grounded Hammerlock - Face Down Near Head - Punch Kudo Driver - Front Grapple - Piledriver Front Necklock - Face Down Near Head - Necklock Hammerlock - Back Grapple - Armlock Black Mass - Front Grapple - Kick Brainbuster to Knee - Front Grapple - Suplex Inverted Go 2 Sleep - Back Grapple - Kick Turning Cutter - Back Grapple - Cutter Pumphandle Neckbreaker - Back Grapple - Cutter Benadryller - Front Grapple - Kick They use existing frames of animation, but these guys put a lot of work into these and they look fantastic. Black Mass looks especially brutal, as it uses the selling animation of the straight punch. Carl just dropped another bomb, saying the next pack should drop tomorrow. |

Another dozen moves added by modders.
4 days and they are already up to 40 new moves. this is so cool. |
Vid of the moves released today. Gonna have to edit a lot of junior heavyweights, because that drop toe hold/float over combo looks really fucking good.

Holy Shit, Gotta get back to my edits
|
FYI apparently the mod doesn't work if you don't have the Takayama DLC.
If you don't have it, its worth picking up. Only 3 bucks and it goes to good cause and gives you the awesome spirit punch rush move. |
Well it's also worth it to get a mod of 40+ new moves as well.
|
Move pack mod now up to 62.
Thats 2 more than spike has added in updates. It has been just under a week. couple of the new moves are school boy superkick (gargano) bitter end (pete dunne) Dab taunt (tjp) I'll post a video when it gets made. |
No End Of Days?
|
Not yet, but one of the modders seems interested in doing it.
Halfway through march, and still no updates on Fire Promoter. Getting worried that they bit off a little more than they could chew and its getting delayed again. Fire Promoter + NJPW + PS4 port + the usual bug fixes and updates is a lot ofwork for a small team. |

Another day, another move pack update.
This one adds Ciampa's Powerbomb Lungblower, Flying Stunner, and the Lumbar Check, among others. |
I need to just get on getting back into this.

Spike is holding a twitch stream to reveal 4 new games on the 23rd. When asked whether there would be any news on Fire Pro, they said they would "reveal everything"

New UI looks sexy. Hopefully more than a reskin and includes better sorting in edit mode.
Don't mind waiting for Fire Promoter. Better done right than done quick. Small team with a shit ton on their plate, so its understandable. |
End of Days coming in the next Move Mod Pack. Knew one of them was working on it, but didn't expect it to turn out as well as it did.

Eh, not too broken up about it. Devs aren't going to be able to support the game forever so we'll get more eventually. In the mean time, more moves from spike means more animations to use in mod moves in the future, making them better in the long run.

NICE
I see some new attire parts in there as well. |
Handful of new moves and parts revealed in a stream from the director. Makabe, Naito, and Tanahashi join Omega and Ibushi in getting new parts for their attires.
New King Kong Knee Drop for Makabe. Slap combo for Tanahashi Back to the Future for KUSHIDA- The small package driver that Seth Rollins sometimes uses. |

Some new info on the game from BOTSJ
-They want to get a "gauntlet match" in, which NJPW often held in the 80's -The PS4 version will release with the Heavyweight Story mode and NJPW content -Fire Promoter will be DLC and will arrive after the PS4 release -There will be an additional story mode for the Jr. Heavyweight division released as DLC -One more piece of DLC planned that they aren't revealing yet. -You can use all the NJPW voice clips on any edit -You will be able to use 5 different voice clips for an edit as opposed to the 2 we have now. -Director teased more layers for appearances. They also displayed a few high res images of Omega, Tanahashi, and Okada, showing off new edit parts and faces https://i.imgur.com/hQJnjgj.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wWSZQZd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/AKb1RSq.jpg Sooooooo many new edit parts on the way. Gonna have to back and re edit hundreds of edits now. |
Also, I probably won't buy this for myself when this comes to PS4, but will buy it for a friend to support the Devs.
I just can't go back to playing the vanilla game after using mods. Maybe if we were talking some of the earlier mods. But the stuff they've been producing the last 4 or 5 months has been FUCKING INSANE. Stuff people only dreamed about in Fire Pro, and some stuff they didn't because they never would have imagined it possible. And so here we are, with the latest innovation SPOILER: show |
Final Roster
* Takashi Iizuka * Tomohiro Ishii * Kota Ibushi * "King Of Darkness" EVIL * El Desperado * Kazuchika Okada * Tomoyuki Oka * Yoshinobu Kanemaru * Hirai Kawato * Katsuya Kitamura * KUSHIDA * Gedo * Kenny Omega * Satoshi Kojima * Hirooki Goto * Zack Sabre Jr. * SANADA * Katsuyori Shibata * Juice Robinson * Super Strong Machine/Junji Hirata * Minoru Suzuki * Taichi * Hiromu Takahashi * TAKA Michinoku * Ryusuke Taguchi * Hiroshi Tanahashi * Tama Tonga * Tanga Roa * Hiroyoshi Tenzan * Tetsuya Naito * Yuji Nagata * Manabu Nakanishi * Bad Luck Fale * BUSHI * Tomoaki Honma * Michael Elgin * Togi Makabe * Toru Yano * YOSHI-HASHI Unfortunate that the ROH guys aren't in, but they're easy enough to make in the game. Tiger Mask and Liger aren't in due to licensing issues as usual Biggest omissions are Will Osprey and Jay White. Maybe they have some sort of merchandising deal with one of the European promotions that prevents they're likenesses from being used? I have no idea. Roppongi 3k probably being saved for the Junior Heavyweight DLC. Hopefully they can get the rest of them in future DLC. Could be a misunderstanding in the translation, so I'm not getting my hopes completely up, but it sounds like they are making new attire edit parts for every single wrestler in the DLC. That.....would add a shit ton of new parts. |
Really hope they bring the mini-figurines from the Japanese Premium Edition version over to the US. Loved buying MUSCLE wrestlers when I was a kid.
https://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploa...P_05-21-18.jpg |
I'm having so much fun with the Royal Rumble mod. Just did a 50 man rumble with stars from NJPW and NOAH. My boy SHO took the win.
At one point Cody Hall got thrown into the corner. Taka then gets thrown into the same corner. Marufuji then goes to the corner and hits a Shiranai (sliced bread #2) on Taka off of Cody Hall who is still slumped in the corner. It looked so cool. Had another great moment in a Rumble with WWE guys. Styles, Orton and Braun ended up being the final 3. Now they have two versions of the styles clash in the game. One that is just the move, and another specifically for styles that has his hands out pose after putting the opponents head between his legs. So Styles starts to hit the clash on braun, but as he does the pose, Orton hits an RKO from OUTTA NOWHERE! IT WAS SO FUCKING COOL! Also, when the mod launched, you could only have as large of a number as your system can handle. I don't know the technical details of why, but if you had too many the game would crash. Not any more. Latest update fixes it so you could have as many participants as you want, regardless of what you're playing on. You could have a 1,000 man rumble if you want. |
|
Amazing detail
|
Finally loaded this up again, bought the DLC, what do I need for the moves?
|
I can't get any mods to work now Figs, please help me Tony Bromo
|
Is the game updated to the latest version and did you download the latest version of Carl's mod suite?
|
I did. I feel like I should just delete everything and start over. Also have no idea where to put the move folder.
|
I just extracted the file to my main fire pro world directory and everything went where it was supposed to go, just like Carl's mod suite updates. Then patch it in with the patcher.
Don't really know how to help you beyond that. I'm not exactly an expert on this stuff. |
Someone on twitter got screen grabs of the entire roster from the select screen. It looks like almost everyone in the game has new parts to accurately recreate their attires. So awesome. Lots of new moves as well.
|
Does PC get those parts, or will that be like a Add-On DLC or something that they miss out on?
|
The NJPW content will be paid DLC for PC. No price yet but they've stated before that they would try to keep the price as low as possible.
Most people have been thinking 15-20. Given the amount of content we've seen, I wouldn't be upset if it was a little more. We're getting a fuckton of new edit parts and moves here. |
50 new moves in NJPW DLC
Afterwards they will continue to release free move packs in between the DLC |

I'm hyped for this |
Some new details were recently announced for the game.

Hoping that the fourth dlc is roh, cmll or a combination of both. Dragon Lee being in the Jr dlc gives me hope for the latter, at least.
Been going back and forth on whether I want to get the ps4 version. On one hand, I want to support the devs, and I have 28-31 off so I'll be able to create and upload a bunch of wwe edits in that time. On the other hand my hard drive fried so I'm buying a new laptop in couple weeks and will have to remake all my rosters on PC, so I kind of don't want the extra work on ps4. If I do get the ps4 version and go on an edit making marathon, I'll probably stream it. Also the director recently tweeted that after listening to feedback from early access they are including an unlock code for all the moves hidden behind mission mode, so I d be able to get started right away. |
Beretta, YOH, SHO, and Yujiro are in the junior DLC as well. That'll get just about everyone in there except for the ROH guys.
|
Yeah, the full list isn't out yet. With Yujiro being confirmed, that could mean other heavyweights that aren't included in the initial release, like Henare, Jay White, and Finlay.

List of official themes in the NJPW dlc.
Takashi Iizuka EVIL Tomohiro Ishii Kota Ibushi El Desperado Kazuchika Okada Yoshinobu Kanemaru Kenny Omega KUSHIDA Jado and Gedo's theme Hiromu Takahashi Hiroshi Tanahashi SANADA BUSHI Tomoaki Honma Toru Yano the Young Lions theme YOSHI-HASHI Also confirmed, was custom themes coming to the ps4 in a patch sometime after release. lol at this little niche wrestling game getting custom entrance themes before the 2k games. |
Yoooooooooooo
Check out the amazing job this dude is doing on modded edit parts. E erything is in the first post of the thread. http://www.criticalclub.com/thread/2...-jps-portfolio I'm getting the ps4 version for now, but once I get a new PC I'll be back on there, probably for good. This shit is unreal. |
Still undecided on if I'm going with PC or PS4. But with the NJPW DLC coming out, I kinda wanna do a clean start for my game since I have sooooooo many edits there are better versions of than when I initially downloaded. Is there any easy way to just delete everyone in one go or do you have to actually do it one by one?
|
Not in game, but I believe there is a mass deletion mod.
At this point, if you have a choice, you should go PC. There are so many awesome mods that the PS4 version looks gimped in comparison. |
Yeah I was kinda leaning towards PC since I need to get a new one soon anyway. Mine is about 6 years old and I've been having issues. It runs Fire Pro perfectly fine though, so as long as I back my shit up I can transfer it all to the new PC if/when I get it.
|
Tested out some new mods, including Trons and custom edit parts and ended up with a pretty nice match, so figured I'd post the recording.

Shittttttttttttttttttt
Really can't be arsed to look through which of my edits have custom parts/moves so I might just nuke my whole roster and stick with the NJPW DLC exclusively until the mod suite is updated. Not a bad time to do it anyway, most of my edits (current WWE, WCW 1998) came in packs I can re-download with minimal effort. Plus the roster organization tool is an amazing timesaver. |
