I wouldn't say often, but he tore his achiles 2 seasons ago and wasn't the same last season, he was still a top LB though

el fregadero 03-22-2006 06:28 PM

Man I remember I signed that guy in Madden 05 for like 800K a year (Peterson). He had like a 97 overall too. Sick.

Goddammit. I heard on the radio today that he was scheduled to meet with the Chiefs later on.

Mr. Monday Morning 03-24-2006 08:01 AM

Vikings signed Tank Williams, I *think*

Williams + Sharper = pretty good for a cover 2.

Apparently the Pats are looking at maybe trading for Moulds...dunno he would definitely have to re-do his deal to land there since he'd be making like 2-3 times the amount Branch would.

Mr. Monday Morning 03-24-2006 08:04 AM

Can you imagine if Delhomme keeps throwing the ball to Smith all the time. It'll be like "Throw me the  ball!" all over

Mmmm, dreams.

Mr. Monday Morning 03-24-2006 12:37 PM

Oh yeah, Seattle signed Tom Ashworth. Chalk up another one to the outgoing Pats list.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 03-24-2006 02:03 PM

Hopefully the Patriots re-sign Neal now. I think they'll be alright losing Ashworth, but if they lose both Ashworth and Neal their could be some trouble

Jesus Shuttlesworth 03-25-2006 02:44 AM

Well I saw in the paper that Neal is expected to come back to the Pats, so that is good. Also heard they are planning on resigning Brown aswell, I guess those other rumors I heard before about him leaving where false - or things just changed. Even though Brown isn't as good as he once ways, I just don't think it would be right to see him in another jersey (Same thing with Big Willie + Vinateri - but thats already gonna happen :( )

ROFL, talk about a high price to pay for revenge.

CNM 03-26-2006 03:36 AM

It's not that much actually, it's structured like a 4 year/19 mil contract. Then after that he'd have to rework it.

AlphaBean 03-26-2006 08:31 AM

The Vikings could have kept him for 1.5 mil, they elected to take the 3rd round pick instead...

So yeah, it's a pretty high price. For a #2 who had one good season? He's my favorite player, but I don't see him in many pro bowls.

Dhani Jones arrested for dancing in street
Posted: 41 minutes ago

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Dancing in the street got Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Dhani Jones arrested.

Jones was charged with the misdemeanor of failure to obey a lawful command after he allegedly refused to stop dancing outside a South Beach club early Sunday, according to Miami Beach police.
"He refused several orders to get out of the street, and he was arrested," said police spokesman Bobby Hernandez on Monday.

The 28-year-old Jones signed an affidavit promising to appear in court for arraignment. It wasn't immediately clear Monday when that would occur or whether Jones, who lives in New York, had hired a lawyer.

The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Jones has played the last two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in 16 games last season, recording 70 tackles and one interception. He was originally drafted out of Michigan by the New York Giants, where he played for four seasons.

--------------------------
Fucking hooligan.

BCWWF 03-27-2006 05:42 PM

I do agree with Bean. I liked Burleson too, but he really isn't a top notch receiver. His loss will hurt the Vikings no doubt, and I don't think they will be very good this year, but I would rather spend the money on a top of the line guard than an above average receiver.

We still need to move up and get Leinart :naughty:

Heard on the radio today the Bengals are really interested in Joey Harrington.

Also heard there were rumors of Jacksonville possibly relocating to L.A.

el fregadero 03-30-2006 08:06 PM

Those rumors (about Jacksonville) have been around since like 94.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 03-30-2006 11:46 PM

Was the team even around in '94? lol

I remember the Patriots beat them in the '96 playoffs tho  :shifty:

el fregadero 03-31-2006 01:39 AM

First season was 95, they didn't just decide the day before the season started they were gonna put a team in Jacksonville though. Like 92 I think it was announced a team was going to Jacksonville.

UmbrellaCorporation 04-01-2006 03:52 PM

LOL, I LOVE Brett Favre. GameFAQs NFL board reports (quoted) that Favre said: "So what if I don't come to a decision by Saturday? What are they gonna do? Cut me?" (Link to follow as soon as I find it)

God, I love Favre.

Although it looks like he'll resign for another year, it looks like another year is all we'll get out of him, Unfortunately. I know GB signed a kicker (think it was an old Cowboys kicker), but that seems to be the LEAST of their problems.

Come on, Pack. You've gotta pull it together this year. :(

Ted Thompson leaving would be the greatest thing to ever happen to the Packers too.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-03-2006 10:45 AM

lol Bret Favre is such a hyprocrit, last year he was complaining about Walker holding out in camp - since it wasn't what was best for the team. Is what Favre is doing now best for the Packers? I don't think so. Also, the Packers have one other QB on the roster. They're screwed

AlphaBean 04-03-2006 05:48 PM

That QB is their first round draft choice from last year, who is supposed to be the future of the team. They're not screwed at QB any more than they will be when Favre comes back. They're screwed because the team sucks.

But you are right about Favre, he's being a gigantic douchebag, and his ego is forcing him to destroy his reputation. When people talk about the NFC North they compare everyone to Favre. Culpepper got traded because he was "selfish."

Well now we know. On the Packers, he wouldn't be traded -- he would be praised.

And speaking of QB situations, the Vikings don't even have ONE QB on their roster. :(

BCWWF 04-03-2006 09:11 PM

Johnson and McMahon :-(

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-04-2006 12:20 AM

Aaron Rodgers is not the future. He is a product of Tedford's system. Other products: David Carr and Joey Harrington

AlphaBean 04-04-2006 12:25 AM

BURN, AARON RODGERS.

Why not just throw the names "Leaf" and "Hitler" onto that list. Poor guy.

Maybe the Pack can find a nice, young elite QB on the trading block for a 2nd round pick.

BCWWF 04-04-2006 08:29 PM

David Carr is good

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-04-2006 11:05 PM

Nobody knows how he will be since he gets sacked all the time, theres a good chance he could get an OLine and still suck. I am pretty postive that Rodgers will not be a good pro QB, he only got picked in the first round because there was no else. If he was in this years draft he would be a 2nd or 3rd rounder easily. He'll be a good career back up, but that is about it.

AlphaBean 04-04-2006 11:09 PM

He just needs more weapons, and protection, and a defense, and a better coach, and some more time to mature, and.. and.. and.. #1 overall, suck it up. He's a bust.

BCWWF 04-04-2006 11:28 PM

The Texans were good two years ago. He may not have warranted a No. 1 pick, but it was an expansion team. I still consider him a good quarterback, just not elite. And without a good team.

AlphaBean 04-04-2006 11:44 PM

Davis and Johnson played out of their mind two years ago, and that defense was still "okay."

The Jaguars and Panthers were expansion teams, and they didn't do so bad after a few years.

We're making excuses for a Quarterback who has never produced.

Dunno.

BCWWF 04-05-2006 12:49 AM

I dunno, I mean I'm not trying to say he is a super good quarterback. I just don't think he is a complete failure, which is kind of the tag that he has been given.

AlphaBean 04-05-2006 01:05 AM

#1 overall pick.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-05-2006 01:09 AM

I think he still might have a shot at being alright, but after the whole Joey Harrington thing I don't know.

They obviously have a lot of confidence in him, so maybe they know something we don't? They are going to draft Reggie Bush and still suck, Reggie Bush can doesn't block the defensive end on the back side. He'll be exciting, on an 5 win team.

AlphaBean 04-05-2006 01:17 AM

Dunno. If Jake Plummer can stop sucking, I guess there's hope for everyone.

True, never really thought of it like that. Draft Bush this year, still have a pretty bad year then still continue to improve over the next season. They just signed Carr to a 3 year deal and they got a new coach, so he'll have a few years to 'prove' himself.

Two Eagles guilty in handicapped parking case
Associated Press
Posted: 1 hour ago

GLASSBORO, N.J. (AP) - Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and linebacker Jeremiah Trotter were found guilty Wednesday of parking their trucks in zones for the handicapped, although both players said they were not behind the wheel at the time.

McNabb was ordered to pay a $256 fine and $33 in court fees. Trotter, who had parked illegally twice, was ordered to pay $512 and $66 in fees. The Philadelphia players were in court during separate proceedings.
Even though McNabb apparently was not even in the vehicle Nov. 28, Judge Charles Sprigman said McNabb was liable because adviser Troy Oglesby had permission to drive the truck. The quarterback produced a letter from a doctor saying he was in a hospital at the time.

Oglesby said a restaurant employee directed him to park in the zone for the handicapped, a blue-striped area next to the actual parking spot.

Trotter was cited for two occasions his vehicle was found illegally parked near the restaurant while he was hosting a radio show. He said he had been dropped off and that someone else parked his truck.

The two players were among dozens of alleged parking scofflaws in court Wednesday. All of them were among the hundreds of people who have been cited since last year by activist Maryann Cottrell, the mother of a handicapped daughter.

Trotter told the judge he wanted to learn more about Cottrell's efforts.

"If it's a good cause I'd like to make a donation," he said
--------------------------------------------------

First, dancing in the street and now THIS? I'm telling you, the Eagles are nothing but a bunch of fucking hooligans this year.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-07-2006 12:30 AM

Running back LenDale White didn't run the 40 because of a sore hamstring, and did 15 reps in the bench-press - only one more than punter Tom Malone. Plus, he weighed in at 244 pounds, which is probably more than what NFL teams want.
-CBSSportsline report on USC Pro Day

Reggie Bush put up 225 24 times, as did many of the QBs (Cutler had 23 reps i think) Dudes 245 and can only put up 225 15 times? I could put it up like 9 times when I was 210 pound junior in high school (tore my rotator cuff during my junior year so now I cant bench  ) and my benching was probably my worst 'football core lift.' I am sure there are dudes who here can put up 225 15 times, if you work out regularly for a few years without injuries it is not that hard, especially for a D1 athlete, all they do is work out. Plus he hasn't run a timed 40 like EVER. I think his stock is dropping a lot, he'll still be good in the pros probably since he can obviously play ball but hes losing himself a lot money. I think only doing 15 reps shows a lack of worth ethic, as does the weight.

AlphaBean 04-07-2006 12:44 AM

That 80% didnt get the memo. Patriots dont play for championships anymore. Wild card births maybe.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-07-2006 04:10 PM

Whos to say he wouldnt play for a championship team in the first place? It's not like he was projected to go top 15 or anything plus you cant compare it to a player taking a pay cut on an established team, there is no promise that just because he is falling he will fall to the Colts. The Colts pick is only a few away from the 2nd round, so lets the Colts dont pick him and slips to the 2nd round. That's a huge difference in money and football is a business man, I don't blame these guys for going out and getting as much money possible what if he blows a knee out or something? I highly doubt he is doing bad so he can picked up by the Colts, he could have put up great numbers and still not have broken the top 15. Personally I think his workouts just show poor work ethic.

I let the games and the video speak for themselves. Did you watch the Rose Bowl? Texas had one of the best defenses in the country and White ran all over them. He was doing that shit all year. I dont know why his workouts were so pathetic and i do believe he's not in good shape, but wasnt he out of shape in the Rose Bowl? Look if this guy gets picked by any team. He'll get whipped into shape during training camp. I trust that issue would be resolved. Lendale White will be crazy good in the NFL.

Oh no that isn't my point, the guy can definetely play some football. I'm just talking from a teams perspective I guess. It doesnt really matter the actually stats of the results, but those results pretty much show he hasn't been working hard in the offseason. A lot teams will view that has an negative ON TOP of the pretty weak testing results. All he is doing is losing himself a ton of money, figured he would want to go out and get as much as he can now becuase you never know might happen. The tailback that started over him when he was a freshmen (Hershel Dennis) just blew out his knee for a second time, so I am surprised something like that isn't on his mind.

People keep saying the Colts will take some guy named Joseph Addai.

The Colts pick is only a few away from the 2nd round, so lets the Colts dont pick him and slips to the 2nd round. That's a huge difference in money and football is a business man, I don't blame these guys for going out and getting as much money possible what if he blows a knee out or something? He gets picked by the Broncos, he gets 2k yards easily. He gets picked up by the Colts, he'll get 2000 all-purpose yards. Steelers? He'll probably get a ring. Same with the Panthers. But one thing is for certain: Even now, it would be hard for him to fall out of the top 20. Many draft boards had him top-10 before the workouts, so that whole "top 15" thing doesn't work. But I doubt he would do so hot on any team in the top 15. But then, any given year eh? The big-3 HBs last year did make the playoffs (or get very close, like the Dolphins), of course Cedric doesn't count, being dead and all. But I just think that he wants to get with a championship-caliber team, and isn't quite smart enough to realize 1) Like you said, money, and 2) This year's lottery team might be next year's cinderella.

But whatever, 15 reps, that's hilarious. Though I would imagine it's hard to do too many reps if your hammy is fucked. Especially if you don't do it right, and jerk your leg, or whatever. I hope he does an individual workout and puts up at least 25. He does that, he won't look quite so retarded.

They were giving Nick Mangold (projected #1 Center in the draft) shit on some show becuase he got 2 less reps than Jay Cutler. Usually QBs dont do even do the benchpress, Culter just did it to show off haha

The Patriots signed Martin Gramatica :|

He probably spent his entire college career practicing workouts and interviews so that he would get top-10 money. He joined a shit squad so he wouldn't suffer from Tom Brady/Drew Henson disease, where you slip to #6 because there is too much talent to go around.

Paper All Star. I love it. But fuck you Mangold, Eslinger is your daddy.

And the Pats shoulda gotten Edinger. He was "clutch" for the Vikes last year.
