Had some absolutely INSANE games today. I sucked ass yesterday so I didn't play much, but today I was on FIRE. Saved a sniper game where I was getting single-shot headshots like crazy on people.

Also, regularly had 25-35 kills in the SWAT games we were playing on multi-team. I do have to admit I wish there was a SWAT gametype. Not a 'big enough' fan of Snipers for it to warrant its own, but I would love some SWAT only.

Ive been doing pretty well in arena. Ranked between 1600 and 1700. dont fully understand the rank though. I would get 20 kills go + 15 or something and only get like 1630 rank. I mean what do you have to do to get in the 1900's 50 and 0?

Got my first killtrocity today in swat right at the end of the game. Got it, and then my teammate killed someone to end the game.. and then I killed 3 more people after the game was over, still within the time frame. Shoulda been more, but oh well. The two people I killed for the extra points were AFK, but it was still pretty cool. Saved a clip of it. Not my smoothest kills, but finally got more than a killtacular so woo.

Hasn't been confirmed yet but Reach DLC might be appearing soon since someone leaked a screen shot of the achievements screen for Reach and it showed 1750 points and 59 achievements.

Well to record/take screen shots its in theater section. Getting it on bungie I have no idea.

Bungie just copy the picture and load it with imageshack and paste the forum code.

I just copy the image address from the Recent Screenshots pics and post them here. Transferring your clips to streaming movies requires a Bungie Pro subscription, which most of you probably wouldn't do.

I decided im not using any credits until i hit 2,000,000 to get the armor shock effect...so it should take about a month or so

I bought the blue visor last level. Gonna get the scout helmet and ODST shoulders when I hit Captain, and then I'll be done buying things for a while. Really want the tac-pad after that.

Only think I wanna save for is Cortana's voice for Firefight, for a true 'Halo' experience. Other than that I gotta collect some skulls in Halo 3 and finish ODST on Legendary to get an armor peice Bungie decided to tie to achievements.

Render minutes? I used your stealth strategy in multi-team the other night with my brother. Wasn't the best game we ever had, but it definitely was fun.

Works great in multi-team, people are so occupied you can ambush at anytime. There's also pretty useful 'agro' strategies for double team matches.
Render Minutes are a sort of 'currency' for transferring your clips into streaming vids. You can either buy a lot of render minutes or wait for your free monthly 5 render minutes. |
I'm on the road right now, and we only have the x360 hooked up in the tour bus, but no wifi, so lots of 4-way split-screen battles have been going down, and I'm pretty fucking hooked. The jetpacks are an insane way to play the game and make you feel like Boba Fett.

Team Slayer SWAT is taking one in the face (being removed) and the weighting for all other gametypes will be adjusted to fall in line with voting data. Expect – surprise, surprise – more traditional Slayer offerings to appear. [Yay] Team SWAT SWAT gametypes that are removed from other playlists are being incorporated into their own, unique playlist with adjustments made to modes and maps based on voting data (farewell SWAT on Hemorrhage, you sucked and everybody hated you). [Purifying the well] Team Objective Powerhouse will now feature several more gametypes, including 1 Flag and Stockpile. Because Powerhouse is awesome and we don’t get to play it enough. [Great] Multi Team Rocket Race is being added. You win by staying on the Mongoose and racing to the checkpoints. (Oh, who am I kidding, you’re just going to hop off and try to assassinate people, aren’t you?) Big Team Battle SWAT and Classic are being removed and the frequency of Snipers is being reduced based on – you guessed it – voting data. [Woooooo] Arena Doubles Boardwalk and “Pro” options are both being removed. Default Zealot is being replaced with Arena Zealot, a map variant which features modified initial player spawns and a soft-kill zone in spaaaaaace. Team Arena “Pro” options are being removed. Arena Zealot (details above), is being added. Score Attack Credit earn rates for Gruntpocalypse are being reduced to fall more in line with other modes. Made a 2nd profile to try out a creidt/unlock armor hack. Pretty bad ass running around with Emile's helm and knife :cool: Don't worry, this profile will never see Live whenever I decide to get it.

is there an easy way to avoid playing infection/save havens? i fucking hate that gametype (gets boring once you've played it a few times) but if i don't choose rumble pit, there's no chance of an awesomely fun 8 man ffa :/

I don't assassinate as much as I want. They should have a front-variant for after shields have 'popped'. You're just as dead as vanilla assassinations so they might as well expand the presentation.

So I guess the 'levels' of each rank take longer as you keep going. IE; warrant officer 1 goes faster than 2, which goes faster than 3.. but then captain grade 1 goes fast again like warrant 1.
Cause according to bungie.net it's only like 22,000 for captain grade 1 even though it was freaking 66,000 to get to captain. |

Start sword base on legendary. sprint across to the target locater without killing anybody, wait for checkpoint by the target locater, turn around and kill all the elites/grunts with the locater. Gets you 3 different commendations and a fair bit of Cr...
Also, this is interesting... Source- Bungie Forums (big hunt going on for legendary ending...) Another new finding on winter contingency! There is a poster next to the one described before where the civi with the data pad is. This poster has 10 numbers on it, and next to each number is the corresponding name for the number "one, two, etc.". Now in my game, seven and ten are crossed off. As we know, there are 10 missions in the game. That being said, I have seven and ten crossed off in the game. Literally there are "x"s over the numbers. I'm wondering if I've done something in those levels. Alas I wont know unless someone else logs in and checks their sign. Did i mention each name is written in gold? Finally, some of these posters have "ARI SOL" written on the sign, followed by a number. The number on the one with the gold lettering and "x"s is 9. P.S. On the bottom of almost every poster is a dice showing 5 dots (the 5 side of a dice). The poster with the gold character has a red 5. Hopefully we can piece this together... |

In Forge World, is there a way to set boundaries where you want play to be contained for your map? For example, I want to create an air combat map in the Hemorrhage area. Is there any way to prevent someone from taking an air vehicle and flying it to other parts of the Forge World? Is there some thing I can place to set a boundary to contain the fight to the canyon? |

I'm all for that. Once you get used to the tools the process gets quicker and certain moves will be routine. It's way easier showing you and letting you experiment.
Getting custom games to work with custom maps to sync is a bitch, though. Lots of back and forth between Forge and Custom Games mode. |
Gotta say, I was really impressed with this game. Started playing earlier today with a friend, and finished not too long ago. Graphics were awesome. I think why I hated ODST so much, is because I only did it in single player. The co op is really where things get fun. Solid game.

Kinda worried I wasted my money on this. I enjoyed single player, but I have no motivation to play multiplayer.

Funny, I've played everything but singleplayer. Multiplayer is Halo.

Singleplayer has always been my preference. Just don't have time to get really good at any particular game, and it's hard for me to get good at them to begin with. FPS and fighting games just don't come very naturally to me. 2d platformers? I'm the fucking man. But I just struggle with other genres.
Only time I even go online for fighting games is when I play you guys. That's the only time it's fun. |
Also, I don't know what it is about multiplayer halo that I just can't get into. I just prefer more realistic shooters I guess, like COD, MAG, and Battlefield. Big fan of that style, with the class system and everything. Think it breeds better teamwork between strangers, as people have set roles right from the start.
That and I hate shields. |

I rarely ever play multiplayer unless I'm partied with at least 2 or 3 of my friends. The only exception is if there is a challenge to complete that day and I want to get it out of the way.
Last night I was on with 7 of my friends and we did BTB matchmaking. It's great fun when you can get an entire 8 man team assembled for matchmaking, but I can see where Fignuts is coming from. |

Well for me, I have some friends who have their friends. We've played a few days now with a couple kids we met randomly in matchmaking. There are probably 12-13 of us altogether, so chances are good that at least a few nights a week we can get a nice big group together.
My buddy put together a griff ball game mode and we messed around with that for a little bit last night. |

I like that helmet that you have on there Kalyx. I used it for quite a bit. Reminded me of a Stormtrooper. I think I use the Hazop with the thing that looks like a mining light now.

Had a few customs on my maps the other night:
- Air Raid is actually unbalanced for Team Slayer. The Covy side basically raped the Spartan ship. Even though it was 4v3, there was some elements that needed change. I gave the Banshees longer respawn and replaced the rocket launcher (to the Spartan ship). Also removed some of the offensive items on the Covy ship to encourage the Spartan side successfully attacking the Covy ship. Covy will keep their 'space bridge'. Also started forging the invasion gametype, as well as a simple one flag CTF set-up. Unexpectedly, FFA slayer is a blast in Air Raid. - Very happy with Holdoff's FFA and Team Slayer performance. Gonna forge other gametypes soon. - Rule is fairly awesome for King of the Hill/Crazy King, but some people aren't cool with the initial spawns. Gonna add a new 'island', one conceptually opposed to shame island. - Boosh Ball probably needs a bigger court, but definitely radar needs to be added. - Gonna delete 'The Hulk' gametype and create a 'Thor' Juggernaut game. 'The Flash' will have a waypoint added to the ball carrier. Will begin project 'Fireflies' map/gametype later on. Along with the Jeep Wars map, but I'm torn on whether it should be slayer or race. My guys got sweet maps on the way as well. |

I have a pretty ill clip of a triple assassination I did. It was team snipers on Pinnacle (I think that's the map.) It is the one with the big satellite dish in the middle, the sniper roost, and the tower cross the way from that. I assassinated two guys, sprinted after the third and tagged him at the bottom of a ramp. It's most sexcellent.
