WWE announced today that Saturday Night Live cast members Will Forte and Kristen Wiig will bring their MacGruber co-star Ryan Phillippe to guest host Monday Night RAW when it emanates from East Rutherford, New Jersey on Apr. 19. MacGruber opens on Apr. 23 and also features a number of WWE Superstars such as Mark Henry and Montel Vontavious Porter. Jericho recently praised Wiig on his Twitter account, calling her “a dang genius and the funniest female (SNL) cast member of all time.”

They should return the favor by letting Jericho guest-host SNL

I'll be going to this show, so the smark in me is disappointed that the RAW guest host crap isn't over. But who cares, I'll have a blast. Maybe that guy from Beerfest will take a Pedigree of somethin...

Maybe they can get Santino a full time SNL spot and get him off RAW too.

I have not watched SNL in about 10 years.

From what I've heard the guest host bit is gonna be ending soon, I hope the last one comes out and appoints an "Ironclad GM" kinda like HBK's role as comissioner (He couldn't be fired.) Someone like Regal, but book him to have no respect for Vince since he can't be fired. Vince should also take some time off after Mania, or be booked to have no pull on the shows so he starts the corp. angle some were talking about with Bats. and McIntyre.

I think its ridiculous the night after Wrestlemania we get somebody trying to promote a movie instead of a legend.

Nobody wants these fuckers here, i want heel Vince and thats it. i was talkin a while ago about Vince, Bats, Drew maybe Cody and others starting a new corporation, maybe even add The Hart Dynasty after WM. They could be pissed off cos Bret ignored them since his return, Vince gets them to beat down Bret on RAW after WM? Anyway if they must do guest hosts it should be Retired wrestlers or Celebrities who are known Wrestling fans - Freddie Prinze was good, maybe get Adam Sandler since he's a huge fan too

This was a bad idea when I initially heard of it, and it continues to be a bad idea.

Its a mixed bag, some have been good - Shaq, Barker, Jesse V
Others have been terrible - Springer, /Criss Angel, Piven

I think you can basically tell who follows wrestling and who doesn't in terms of hosts. I think if they want it to work and fans to buy into it, have more legends. Hell, even wrestlers from the past that were significant but not legends would be ok.

Seriously, almost everyone has the same opinion here, and it always comes up at least once a week, either as a topic or it's mentioned in a post.

Very few of the "celebrity" hosts have been good and the best ones have been actual wrestlers.

Xero my hero... Awesome... I enjoyed SCSA, Mr. Barker & Shaq... Shag & Jericho was badass... Vince needs to cut this shit out...

The guest hosts thing was great at the begining but when they kept stretching it on that's when it started to becoming stale. Especially with people who couldn't pull it off.

I understand it was more of a marketing ploy both for the WWE and the Host, but lets face it, some fell flat on their face fucking hard.

Though I was impressed with Jewel and her husband. I thought they were going to be lame, but they weren't. I mean they weren't great, but they weren't bad.

I'm just trying to think who was the worst? Jonny Damon or those 2 Nascar drivers. Oh my god, were they bad.

Yeah Damon sucked. I also enjoyed the napalian guy hosting. Him coming out in flairs robe was funny as hell. They really dropped the ball with Chris Angel though. That could have been great. He could have even done a major trick in the ring or something. Plus hes in good eneough shape to maybe do a match.

The hosts withe experience with live crowds did well, while others failed. and I agree that the WWE dropped the ball with Chris Angel, he could have done so much more.

Actually I didn't think Springer was all that bad. I mean what did you really expect from him? He was better than Shatner.

Oh Springer!! How could I forget him! He was great. I loved the skit they did with him. It was lame, but it showed shades of a 14A era.
