Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:02 PM

Main event announcing for a 6 man tag match.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:08 PM

They are making a point of keeping Roode and Storm from being in the ring at the same time. I like it.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:12 PM

At least once each segment tonight, Taz has begun to randomly talk about the Knockouts and how hot they are. Tenay finally calling him out on it. "What are you talking about? We're in the middle of our six man tag main event!"

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:17 PM

Faces win. Storm pins Roode though. Not a good call. Would rather have kept them apart even to the end.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 03:20 PM

And then Bully Ray gets the last word on Storm with a chairshot. Says that Storm isn't going to make it to Lockdown.

Show over.

Such cookie-cutter booking. TNA literally makes me nauseous to watch sometimes. Why don't they try?

Yeah, but breaking up Beer Money was a good thing, not because it was a bad team or anything, it was likeable, but because of a successful turn for Bobby Roode to become a popular heel champion, a step in the right direction to breathe life into the company.

Here's one of their obvious errors, I think TNA doesn't really hold high standards for most of the talent, maybe they don't rehearse or there isn't enough discipline so that the talent won't fuck up. Either way, when the talent does fuck something up, they don't cut it or make the one at fault fix the problem, they leave it on the taping to broadcast on Thursday and on PPVS. Seriously? There's no just excuse for not using the days before the broadcast to patch up the footage. PPVs I can understand, but Jeff Hardy really REALLY put a big hurting to the company with his self-hazed championship thirty second match, and got off way too easy for it, matter of fact, was a couple of months before he got right back on TV again. Lack of discipline, poor to no editing work for television, and this... absolutely terrible promos for upcoming matches, they don't motivate the viewer to want to come and see the match through.

Lock Jaw 03-02-2012 07:18 PM

Have not really noticed haphazard editing on TV.

#1-norm-fan 03-02-2012 07:24 PM

Really, is Jeff Hardy so valuable that he warrants the huge black eye that he gives the company? Makes no sense.

I think that was in reference to Velvet and the "let the pigeons loose" deal.

Rollermacka 03-02-2012 07:50 PM

I thought it was an ok show. Extremely formulaic, but it's not like WWE is pulling OMG shockers out every week :-\

Oh. Ok. I don't know what that means, but ok.

Droford 03-02-2012 08:48 PM

Pigeons = puppies

I really dont get it either

They have been WAY less formulaic that what I've seen/read from TNA recently.

Puppies are soft and cuddly. Pigeons are dirty and disease-ridden.

Skippord 03-02-2012 11:15 PM

as are the TNA Knockouts

It's what Tazz says every time she gets in the ring and grinds on the rope.

And Skippord wins again.

I'm looking forward to watching Impact this week. It would kind of make sense to have Velvet Sky, Mickie James, Tara & Brooke Tessmacher vs. Angelina Love, Winter, Sarita & Rosita at Victory Road. I mean, it's a clusterfuck, but if I were going to order a TNA PPV (and I'm not about to), then I'd want to see Velvet Sky grind against the ropes at least once.

Damndirty 03-04-2012 02:12 PM

So which PPV is TNA's Wrestlemania, or have they no hype for one PPV more than another?

#1-norm-fan 03-04-2012 02:54 PM

I think it's either Slammiversary or Bound for Glory.

Lock Jaw 03-04-2012 02:57 PM

Wiki says Bound For Glory is their "premiere" event.

It generally did not receive the kind of hype/lavish production/pulling out all the stops that Mania gets. At least back when I used to watch a few years ago.

#1-norm-fan 03-04-2012 03:17 PM

Which is kinda lame. How the show that celebrates the anniversary of the company isn't the "premiere" event is beyond me. Anything else is just a name basically. At least Slammiversary has some deeper meaning and wouldn't be the biggest show just for the sake of having a "Biggest show".

Lock Jaw 03-04-2012 06:16 PM

Yeah. I thought it was Slammiversary too. Which it probably should be, since everything else is just a random name with no meaning behind it.

erickman 03-04-2012 06:44 PM

yeah slammiversary used to be the big one but october was when the big name wrestlers from wwe got realeased from there 90 day no compeat contract. wwes spring cleaning helped bound for glory

Yeah, that was way over the top this week. Tazz was playing "pervy old man" to the point of being distracting.

Damndirty 03-07-2012 09:18 AM

I think it might actually help for them to have that Bound For Glory as the mark of the end of TNA's wrestling year, like Wrestlemania does for WWE. Then again... doubt there's a big list of celebrities who consider taking part in TNA PPVs, which might have actually brought more viewers too. Seeing Mike Tyson participating in WWF was what brought me to sit down and watch the whole Raw is War show.

Then again, TNA announces every ppv as their "biggest show of the year". I always figured Lockdown was their other show of the year. I think its a yearly thing now that they have "lethal lockdown" and the Xcape Match for the belt (the one where its a giant red birdcage that the X Division stars have to escape from)

Mr. Nerfect 03-10-2012 12:06 AM

Lockdown, Slammiversary and Bound For Glory are sort of like their "big three," I guess. Personally, I wish they would do more to define their PPVs. I like the idea of Destination X, and stuff like that. They could do some sort of tournament for a PPV, as well.

Lock Jaw 03-10-2012 12:09 AM

Will not be able to watch this week's until Sunday. You will all have to wait for my thrilling commentary. Too bad I have had some of the show spoiled already.

Mr. Nerfect 03-10-2012 12:16 AM

I haven't watched this week's Impact! Wrestling, but I'm sort of feeling like this should be the Lockdown card:

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Bobby Roode (c) vs. James Storm

Non-Title Match
Sting vs. Austin Aries

TNA World Tag Team Championship
Samoa Joe & Magnus (c) vs. AJ Styles & Ken Anderson

Three-Way Match for the TNA Knockout Championship
Madison Rayne (c) vs. Gail Kim vs. ODB

Lethal Lockdown
Jeff Hardy, Abyss, Kazarian & Crimson vs. Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, Christopher Daniels & Matt Morgan

Gunner vs. Garett Bischoff

X-Division Showcase
Alex Shelley vs. Anthony Nese vs. Kid Kash vs. Mark Haskins vs. Shannon Moore vs. Zema Ion

Damndirty 03-11-2012 12:46 PM

Roode, keep doing what he's been doing

Austin Aries - good X division champ
Alex Shelley would ge good for an ongoing feud

ODB and Eric Young skits are good!

Knockouts good, though some need to work on the acting and mic skills, matches are fine as they are

Crimson and Morgan should have a feud that leads to World Champ contendership

James Storm should have a good match with Roode, but not win the championship
He and AJ need to keep a feud with Immortal

Bully Ray and Hardy do not need to be in the contendership anymore, but should have a bloody feud with one another, given both have the reptuation of being part of legendary tag teams at one time in their lives and needs to be focused on. Maybe after the feud, these two could be a real badass tag team.

Sting should not be World Champion anymore, but stick with the physically-active executive position, maybe even coerce Garrett Bischoff as being his successor by upstaging his father as an exec

Joe and Magnus should have a feud with a Daniels and Kazarian, or a team formed from Gunner and Kazarian

The wrestlers are not the problem, nor have they ever been. Poor management is to blame for a company's failures, hence Russo, but it may take some time to heal from the problem that was dealt with.

GARRET BISCHOFF has arrived in the Impact Zone!!

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:04 PM

Don't know why he insists on showing up every week, when he hasn't been wrestling.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:08 PM

Nevermind, apparently he will wrestle on this show.

Bisch saying he got a tag match made to "put an end to it". Gunner and a Partner vs Garrett and a Partner.

Kinda scratching my head over that one. If he wanted to "put an end to it", just have Gunner vs Garrett.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:13 PM

Angle coming out. Will apparently be Gunner's partner. Which means that Jeff Hardy will most likely team with Garrett.

Also, it has been three weeks I have been watching, and I have no idea why Bischoff seems to hate his son and wants him gone.

Just seems to me that on the whole, the talents of Bischoff and Flair could be used to put over somebody more talented than Garrett seems to be. Though I haven't seen Garrett in the ring yet. Seems pretty "meh" outside of it.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:16 PM

Sting spazzing out into a mirror. Wierding me out.

Lock Jaw 03-11-2012 03:19 PM

Sting seems like he is legitimately insane. Thought it was supposed to be more of a "controlled insanity". But seems pretty batshit crazy this week.
