El Vaquero de Infierno 07-26-2014 04:01 PM

Who's that flying above the melee in the background? For some reason I think Magneto, but I know I am wrong.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-26-2014 04:02 PM

Oh, they should have got the guy who played Quicksilver in the X-men film to be in the Avengers.

Gonna go ahead and assume that you know they can't do that.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-27-2014 06:50 AM

I know that different studios own the rights to different Marvel creation's/etc; but still, Evan Peter was one of the best things about the X-men film.

Kalyx triaD 07-27-2014 04:49 PM

Also let's not pretend everybody wasn't super negative about him before the movie.

Kalyx triaD 08-18-2014 03:16 PM

Prof. Selvig will return. I'm also thinking his days are numbered.

Somebody's gotta die, just saying.

loopydate 08-18-2014 05:46 PM

Nah, they'll just kill Coulsen again.

VSG 08-19-2014 04:44 PM

lol

Vision Revealed in Promo Art:

Swiss Ultimate 09-06-2014 04:45 PM

No Black Widow?

Swiss Ultimate 09-06-2014 04:45 PM

Or maybe she's behind the dude.

XL 09-06-2014 07:16 PM

Yeah, you can see an arm there.

Swiss Ultimate 09-06-2014 11:04 PM

Little dude needs to sit down.

Rammsteinmad 09-07-2014 12:41 PM

I'll wait until the film comes out to pass judgement, but I'm not sure a 5-foot Chinese dude will work as Vision.

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.

Miotch 09-16-2014 01:26 PM

So everything we already knew about the film in 2 succinct paragraphs.

Kalyx triaD 09-16-2014 06:51 PM

Yes. But what's important here is they never drop press releases before shit starts getting cut and printed. We should have something to see by Superbowl.

Destor 09-16-2014 08:05 PM

that description makes it sound awful. i dont think it will be but man is that an unappealing piece of writing

Fox 09-17-2014 09:18 PM

What are you on about? That sounds amazing.

The Avengers could be summed up as "when an other-worldly alien army makes an alliance with spurned of the throne Asgardian Loki, an unlikely team of superheroes must band together to save the world from ultimate destruction."

And that shit was awesome.

loopydate 09-17-2014 09:22 PM

Yeah, it's a press release. They're always a little dry. They have to paint with broad strokes to avoid spoiling anything that hasn't already been leaked. Marvel knows what they're doing. I'm not worried.

Destor 09-17-2014 09:27 PM

Not saying it reflects the movie. Just reading it and im like "planet hangs in the balance" villainous Ultron" etc and im thinking wow...it sounds like a saturday morning cartoon.

Im sure i will love the movie however.

Kalyx triaD 09-18-2014 12:52 AM

Saturday morning cartoons are awesome though.

Destor 09-18-2014 05:06 AM

Nooooooooo. They just were because we were 5.

Kalyx triaD 09-18-2014 03:14 PM

Avengers awoken my inner 5yo though.

Fox 09-19-2014 09:19 PM

These movies are basically Saturday morning cartoons come to life. No, they ARE Saturday morning cartoons come to life.

Destor 09-19-2014 09:28 PM

No, these movies are really good.

Kalyx triaD 09-19-2014 09:39 PM

What's up with the false dichotomy of 'Saturday morning cartoons or good movies'?

Fignuts 09-20-2014 03:51 AM

Yeah, the whole reason I like these movies over the Dark Knight stuff, is that it's bright and colorful like a comic book come to life.

Sixx 09-20-2014 04:24 AM

Seeing how everything's supposed to be dark and gritty nowadays, even some children stories, that is really something. I guess maybe people are as sick of everything being grey and depressing as I am and that's why they throw all their money at Marvel.

Damian Rey 09-20-2014 01:08 PM

People will throw their money at anything they did entertaining. TDK trilogy and MOS were darker films and made heaps of money.

Damian Rey 09-20-2014 01:19 PM

As for the synopsis, I'm sure the movie will be fine. My only concern is there's a ton of characters, but that was handed perfectly last time, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Fignuts 10-01-2014 08:06 AM

Rumors flying around that Avengers 3 might be split into two movies, released in back to back years, as is the fad with a lot of franchises these days.

They'd have to either extend the contracts of RDJ and Evans which would cost a lot of money, or kill them off in the first part, so who knows if all this is true.

Kalyx triaD 10-01-2014 04:38 PM

Wouldn't that screw with the linear, macro-arc nature of the MCU? It's like the season finale of X-Files split between May of '97 and May '98. The timeline of 'episodes' in between will be strange.

Lock Jaw 10-01-2014 06:16 PM

Not if they structure a massive undertaking where the two Avengers movies are bookends to a complete story. Like after the first film, things are at a place where they split up as individuals or smaller teams to accomplish various goals before assembling again in the second movie that brings the adventure to a close.

Miotch 10-01-2014 06:40 PM

Why not just call that Avengers 3 and 4 then?

Lock Jaw 10-01-2014 07:12 PM

Why not call "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Avengers 2?

Fignuts 10-01-2014 07:31 PM

This is Two Thousand and Fourteen.

Numbers are so played out.
