Superman punch on Cena?

Why would Cena hit himself?

Badum Tish.

Emperor Smeat 12-23-2013 11:05 PM

How is that a DQ?

Poit 12-23-2013 11:05 PM

Holy crap that throw.

Lock Jaw 12-23-2013 11:07 PM

Big E has been impressing me as of late. He works good as a face.

I assumed Fandango winning the IC championship because of a box was a feast or fired parody. Didn't watch all of raw until a few minutes ago.

You can only have one save per match. Both saving is a DQ.

For Christmas I'd like an entire Raw of Heath Slater and BadNewsBarrett promos.

I think for every episode of RAW from here out, I'm going to need to know whether dronepool is listening to Opeth during it or not

Hanso Amore 12-24-2013 09:03 AM

I imagine the answer will always be a resounding Yes.

BATISTA

Can't wait for him to Batista bomb everyone

erickman 12-24-2013 09:11 AM

another big show embarsing moment cody needs to do those clips again.

Remember when he was running amok and a thorn in the side of the authority 2 months ago?

Well now he's the New Year's baby.

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2013 09:24 AM

I never really liked the Big Show/Authority storyline. It didn't really make sense that they would fire him, given his "iron-clad contract." I'd have preferred they implied that Big Show wouldn't get any title opportunities or would just continue to be beat down by The Shield and such until he did play ball. Bringing the one guy on the roster they can't use employment over to his knees would have been a great symbol of their power.

#1-norm-fan 12-24-2013 09:29 AM

You weren't supposed to remember that he had an "iron-clad contract".

If you can get passed that, the idea of him "fucking shit up" and being the one guy Triple H couldn't control was awesome. Once he got re-hired and was subject to the same beatdowns any other random face was subject to, the intrigue instantly died.

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2013 09:34 AM

But the thing is, it really should have been Bryan that was fighting the system. Yeah, Big Show was buddies with Bryan and was helping him, but it set a weird tone right from the start.

Show was just an attempt to glomm the heat from Bryan, while making a bigger "attraction".

I'm sorry, but I'm finding the gimmick to be dull.

I love Barrett, but his gimmick is just "meh". How is he going to translate this into his matches? (Whenever that'll be)

Since this gimmick started, I've yet to see him have a match. Maybe he's had some on SmackDown, I don't know as I can't watch SmackDown these days, but right now, all I'm seeing is a man standing at a podium saying things to gain cheap heat. He might as well just grab a mic and say "your local sports team sucks" and get it over and done with. :-\

I found him to be more interesting when he was this bare-knuckle fighting champion where he just went around beating the shit out of people.

Cool King 12-24-2013 10:17 AM

The Barrett Barrage.

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2013 10:25 AM

Wade Barrett is really interesting. He's got all the tools, but for some reason he has just never really stuck around that main event level.

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2013 10:27 AM

This wouldn't be my preferred match or whatever, but it'd make sense for Barrett, a smart man who does business, to make sure he is aligned and well and truly has Triple H's favor. If Triple H has a problem with someone like Daniel Bryan or CM Punk then he'd be the sort of guy to go out there and smash them in the teeth to better his own career. A lot of people think that either Punk or Bryan could be in the World Title match at WrestleMania, and a lot of others seem to think there is the possibility that one or both will mix it up with some of the legends they have been involved with in recent weeks -- but it would make sense for the WWE to have The Authority send Barrett out there as a hired gun to go after one of them -- leading to an official match between the parties at WrestleMania.

If they decided to do, for example, CM Punk vs. Wade Barrett, not only would the promos be amazing, but there's also the possibility that Barrett could call up Paul Heyman and reveal that he has officially become a Paul Heyman Guy to find out all Punk's secrets. The Bad News Barrett gimmick could be continued here, with Barrett dropping "Bad News" on Punk, about his past and his family.

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2013 10:34 AM

If they're going to be breaking up The Shield in time for WrestleMania (and that does seem likely), then the Nexus returning at WrestleMania to help Barrett defeat Punk could be a pretty swell moment. Punk would look like he has their Street Fight in hand when Ryback, Curtis Axel, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, David Otunga and Darren Young hit the ring and beat up Punk. Even the guys in that list doing something aren't really doing something, if you know what I mean?

He totally fooled the crowd last night into thinking he was giving to a charity, and then bam, massive heel turn. BadNewsBarrett is a evil fellow.

Quick! Hide the Konami Code! Batista is coming back! :shifty:

VSG 12-24-2013 02:31 PM

I might be active again here now that Dave is coming back, I am already shuddering at the potential excitement

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2013 04:55 PM

I really did think that Barrett was going to be used in a sense that Noid explained when Daniel Bryan ended up shaving his beard, but that kind of all just went by the wayside.

Also, I fucking hate Christmas themed Raw. Most of this show was awful. Both six man tags were good, though.

I'm not gonna get into the "is Bryan an A+ player or not?" discussion but basically if you don't look at Bryan as as "A+ player", and it seems likely that WWE doesn't, then Show was the better choice for the role. Plain and simple. The Orton-Bryan feud had run it's course and they didn't want to put the title on Bryan in the end. So the right move was to have Show take on the anti-authority role. And they set it up so well even during the Bryan-Orton feud. You know I'm always the first person to mention how retarded WWE's booking is but this one made sense.

SlickyTrickyDamon 12-24-2013 08:47 PM

It didn't make any sense to put a lame main event in a smark crowd. We shit all over it.

That would have been great if he did actually beat the shit out of people. He was booked like a generic pussy heel though. A guy with a street fighting gimmick should probably be booked like a badass.

I probably just would have watched Bad(DER) Santa (unrated version of Bad Santa) instead if we had had power.
