Awesome main event to end 2003. If HBK can put on performances like this on a nightly basis without killing himself, I say give him the belt.

I thought it was a great way to bring in Steve Austin, to have HBK lose the match. :y:

But Steve Austin being brought back is horrible! I would rather have a consistant Steph-Vince fued on TV than have Stone Cold back. His new role will probably allow him to Stun anybody, at any time. So he runs into matches that he doesn't like or something stupid, stuns BOTH people (ie SD! In Baghdad), and ruins the credibility of both wrestlers.

We already have HHH on RAW. We don't need Austin as well.

What's your problem with Austin? Even if he did stun 2 wrestlers in a match they would not lose their credibility. Austin being back is a great idea. ANd I like the ending to the HBK-HHH match

Pepsi Man 12-30-2003 11:54 AM

So now any time the face loses, as long as the fans sign a petition, the match will basically become overturned and the LOSER will actually GAIN from the whole situation?

Makes no damned sense. Obviously Austin was going to come back, but this wasn't the way to do it, in my opinion.

RAW
World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H .vs. Shawn Michaels

This match was an awesome way to end the year of 2003. Triple H performed outstading well, in my opinion. Shawn Michaels was on fire, I honestly believed that he would win the title but he just wanst in top shap like HHH is. so i gave the macth a Hell yeah

now lets see if smackdown can pull off there last show of 2003 with the main event begin Hradcore Holly Vs Brock for the WWE Tiltle

The problem with Austin stunning everyone is twofold. First, it makes Austin seem tougher than everyone else on the roster. Nobody gets up from the Stunner, so Austin will do the move, and the guy will take a powder, that makes Austin look dominant. The problem with that is that Austin isn't going to be a full time worker anytime soon, so having him be dominant is akin to what Mcmahon was saying on RAW about feeding a kid candy everyday, its not good for them.

Second thing is that Austin will not be working any real matches ever again, so people who eat a Stunner have no way to get back at him in a physical manner. And if they were to attack him the person would look like a punk because Austin has a near broken neck. So its a no win situation, its kinda like getting into a fight with a girl, if you hit her you're an abuser, if she beats you up you're a pussy.

The other thing to consider is that when Austin was coming up as a star, Sgt Slaughter was a TV figurehead, how many times did Slaughter KO Austin? I'll answer it for you, never, and thats in part what got Austin over, because he looked tougher than everyone else and the fans rallied behind him. Had Austin been laid out week after week by a Cobra Clutch he wouldn't have got over like he did.

That's a pretty funny mental image. :D

SUCKAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Ok Triple H vs. HBK now goes down in my book as one of the best matches of 2003, that was great, its been a while since there has been a Raw main event that lasted over 30min. great match.

RGWhat316 12-30-2003 06:29 PM

Completely agreed, one hell of a match. I remember hearing alot of talk about HHH rarely selling moves, but he definitely did that monday night, especially the Figure 4. I couldnt watch it last night so I taped it, and the damn tape ran out right when Bischoff said that all shoulders were down, so I don't know exactly what Austin did. But as much as we want to see younger talent make their way up, you still got to give major props to the veterans HBK and HHH. Great way to end 2003.

Its just too bad HHH wont have that same match with a younger guy so they can make a new star or two.

Omg, for the first half of that message sexymanalive almost spelled everything correct! But it then went downhill from there...

Overall, one of the most readable messages from you, sexymanalive. :y:

bishoff declared HHH the winner and pissed off HBK flair attacked Hbk from behind and micheals gave him the sweet chin music turned around and laid out bishof. As Shawn was Leaving Bishoff told him he was fired for assaulting him...Glass shatters out comes austin says micheals is rehired because hes the sherrif of raw now and gets another title shot next week turns around stuns bishof shows over.

Hottttttttt main event on Raw.

The ending wasn't great, but whatev, at least we got to see some great wrestling.

Corkscrewed 12-31-2003 08:09 PM

I don't mind Austin coming back, actually, though the way he came back basically nullifies the Survivor Series stipulations. I mean... THIS is the "really nice way of coming back" the writers were proud of themselves for thinking and were trying to keep secret? Okay...

But the end of that match was a huge emotional high. They could have conceivably pushed Austin's return to next week, and leave RAW on another cliffhanger.

On the other hand, does this just mean Foley's gone for good? They didn't exactly resolve that completely.

Fox 12-31-2003 08:09 PM

Interesting that they used that finish since HBK pinned Jericho the same way at Survivor Series and Batista the same way at Armageddon.

Great match though. Best from HHH all year.
