Seriously PM LC was joking with the 100 limit.

TerranRich 10-12-2005 10:22 PM

So yeah...can I make one of the belts? Pretty please?

Gonzo 10-12-2005 10:28 PM

I have a proposition. Since we have more or less decided in this and the other thread there will be 4 titles, 3 singles and 1 tag whatever they may be called that we do this:

For each belt(s) we have a tournament to crown the champion because the way I think the game works is that if you create a belt you are obviously the champion of it. So the person coming out as champion of each tournament gets to create the initial belt. I say with the Heavyweight, World title or whatever its going to be called the champion can change the design as is usual among the WWE. The other three belts ought to stay true to the original design of the first ever champion of that belt. Anyone have any other ideas?

loopydate 10-12-2005 10:54 PM

I want in, but I'm lacking both broadband and a network adapter.

But maybe I'll pull an LPD and join up after the leagues have been well-established and just start tearing shit up. :D

Drakul 10-12-2005 11:06 PM

So I got a reply from THQ. Heres there reply:

My email basically asked if I could play Smackdown Vs RAW 2006 with people in the USA and I said I was from the UK. Nice automated response :|

Just an idea.

We have people who are interested in making belts and own a copy of the original Smackdown vs RAW, make their best belt, take a photo of it, and upload it on here. We then make a poll to decide who has made the best belt, and therefore has the privledge to make the belts. Only problem is if people who are interested in making said belts, don't have any means for capturing that belt to put online. :-\

V 10-12-2005 11:29 PM

We shouldn't 2 wrestlers per account, creating and organizing twice the amount of wrestlers just for cruiserweights for an online league is pretty stupid. Cruiserweight Title just isn't important enough.

Savior you said you wanted me in your stable but then didn't even mention me when you asked LC about it -_-

Everyone wants me in their stable though :o, must know how good I am. Seriously though, I'm not joining a stable until I see how good you guys are. There really is no point to one though honestly, since there's no interference or more than 3 vs 3 matches. Tag Teams are needed, but not stables =\. I still might join one though, if I'm still wanted after we're well into this.

Gonzo it's a good idea, but we should all be involved in the belt creation and go with something the majority of people agree with.

MOST IMPORTANT PART OF MY LONG ASS POST:
I'm going to assume we're decided on the four belts and tournaments to crown champions, so we should probably set a deadline for joining so that we can set up tournament brackets. I'm not saying don't let anyone in after the deadline, I'm saying don't let them in the initial title tournaments if they join later than the deadline.

You guys better have read all that -_-

The Mackem 10-13-2005 08:22 AM

Kaplaa!

Sadistic 10-13-2005 02:03 PM

Who makes out the matches for the king of the ring style tournament.

Nervous Ferret 10-13-2005 02:06 PM

Team Sheep 10-13-2005 02:18 PM

V 10-13-2005 10:29 PM

do you guys agree we need a sub forum? This way we can have a poll for deciding important things.

if you guys agree i'll PM Triple A about it, or someone else can.

The Fugitive 10-14-2005 04:40 AM

Sub-forum seems like a good idea to me.

Btw, got my network adaptor just now. Just in the process of installing it.

Let me know how you get on. :y:

Also great idea about a sub forum, would make things a lot easier.

I hope my ethernet cables long enough otherwise i'll have to drag my tv and ps2 to my computer room every day or something. :'(

Hired Hitman 10-14-2005 07:57 AM

Belts are easy, everyone who wants to make one, then people vote to see which one they like best and use that one.

McDoogle 10-14-2005 10:13 AM

There is no need for a subforum. Everything can be discussed in this thread.

V 10-14-2005 10:16 AM

errr so everytime there's a new champion it should be discussed here?

once things get started you should have to scroll through pages of one thread to see who you're going to be facing?

if we need polls for something we should magically add them to this thread?

we should put all tournament brackets in random pages of this thread?

all of our promos should go in this thread, even 6 months from now when we're well into the league and this thread is probably 1000 pages?

if a new stable forms, instead of having a new thread for it, we should just hope that everyone manages to read page 94 of this thread?

um =\

AGREED! :y:

If we are going to do this shit right then you simply need a forum used for only Smackdown vs Raw 2006 competitions.

Its as simple as that!

Otherwise we are going to have posts left right and centre and it will be a freakin' nightmare!!!

And what harm would it do to add another forum for this kind of thing? I haven't seen anything like this anywere else so this could bring new people to the forum! :D :y:

Took forever to set up because my dog kept knocking out the Cat 5 for the net, so had to restart it a number of times.

Anyway, had my first match on the original Smackdown VS Raw. Wow. Fucking laggy as hell (I have broadband, so it's not my fault). I sincerely hope that the people I was playing were from Europe or something, because if that's the lag I get from playing in Australia, I don't think I'll bother with this. :n:

Hmmm.. well i dont have a dog so hopefully it will take me less time to set up!

Im suprised its laggy.. its a shame if Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 is like this. :-\

Maybe they were in europe - thats a possibility.

How exactly do you set it up? Is it just simply connecting your Ethernet cable (from your modem) into the back of the PS2?

If not why not!

TerranRich 10-14-2005 12:19 PM

Woo-hoo! I'm gonna have to spend about $150 just to get my PS2 wireless! Hah! Hey, I'm getting big money soon (big paychecks from my current new job, Christmas Club money [~$700], and a check from a guy I'm doing web design side jobs for [$500]), so it'll be definitely worth it for me. :D

:y:

Cool.. will someone from the uk explain to me how to connect my network adapter to my ps2 and hook it up online??? :shifty:

As for the web design jobs - Im a graphic designer but i stay away from that.

To be honest i find it too much work - specially when the client knows fuck all about the internet and you have to spoon feed them all the info. And then they want you to get them setup on google keyword. And THEN find them a webhost.. its all too much work for myself. Specially when i get 200 pounds per business pack - Logo, Letterhead, Comp Slip, Invoice Sheet with matching logo's and artwork - this only takes a day for me to do in quark. :D

Not exactly. Remove expansion bay, install adaptor to back of PC, attach cable, insert Newtork Activation Disk. At this point, you need to contact your ISP and find out if your DNS is automatically assigned, and if you use DHCP. If you don't, then you need them to tell you your primary and secondary DNS address, and a lot of other crap. Run the PS2 with the NAD, insert your ISP details, then create your PS2 online account. It's a lot more detailed in the manual.

Sounds like a lot of work, but if I hadn't been disconnected so many times, I probably would have had that system up and running in 30.

Hmmm that doesn't sound too bad to me. I might just contact NTL and get the whole damn thing done.

It doesn't sound as complicated as i thought it might be. Although im suprised it doesn't auto detect your settings..

Thanks for that! :y:

Sadistic 10-14-2005 03:16 PM

How come the Tony Hawk games allow Americans to play with Europeans? It can't be that hard, why won't THQ do it.

V 10-14-2005 04:55 PM

cuz it's not gonna be the best smackdown game ever

Team Sheep 10-14-2005 06:14 PM

It was really easy for me to set up online play. I have a slimline so I didn't need a network adapter. I just bought a router, set that up to my PC, got a 30 odd metre ethernet cable to link from my router to my PS2, which is on the other side of the house (couldn't be bothered with wireless, chose the cheaper option), ran the wire through my attic, and just plugged it into my PS2 and I was up and running.
