I just watched Great American Bash 88 last week when he turned heel on Dusty though. If you haven't seen that PPV, I highly recomend it if you are a fan of old school wrestling

Because Batista is booked as dominate individual.

Plus Batista is a face and JBL is a heel. So naturally the heel would rather face another heel then the dangerous babyface.
