I read that the Wolves are trading Lawson to the Nuggets.

Loose Cannon 06-25-2009 10:20 PM

yay..

Supreme Olajuwon 06-25-2009 10:21 PM

got rid of Q though so I guess that's good

RatedGSuperstar 06-25-2009 10:45 PM

I'm late, but I really really really hate Brandon Jennings. Another stupid lottery pick for this team...ugh. It's like Minnesota took Flynn and John Hammond was like "oh shit oh shit oh shit...quick...come up with somebody else."

You take a point guard whose ESPN profile says "Must Improve: Decision Making"?? Really? And good luck getting him to stay past his rookie contract...how do you think a kid from Compton is going to like Milwaukee? Whatever...at least they didn't take a white guy just because he can dunk this year. I still would've preferred Jrue Holliday.

DaveWadding 06-25-2009 11:05 PM

This trade will be finalized Wednesday

Warriors get:
Amare Stoudemire

Suns get:
Andris Biedrins
Brandan Wright
Marco Belinelli
Stephen Curry

SCH-WING!

Hanso Amore 06-25-2009 11:09 PM

Holy Fuck

WOW

Great for the suns, I honestly think Wright has the chance to be a stud if can ever get on the court. Biedrins is a potential All star. Curry and Bellinelli can become real solid players.

Bad move for the warriors. They should have gotten rid of maggette. Why trade a good center and parts for a guy who will refuse to play center?

Supreme Olajuwon 06-25-2009 11:18 PM

LOL Wolves get Calathes

1 more for batch

i hear its dead cuz amare doesnt want to sign a extension with the warriors so obviously they dont want to rent amare for a year while giving everyone up

SammyG 06-26-2009 05:44 AM

ROFL Biedrins is a potential All-Star? WHAT?!

SammyG 06-26-2009 05:58 AM

Phil coming back, bitches. Back to back.

RP 06-26-2009 06:35 AM

I cant even think of a reason why i dont like Hansborough, i just never liked him because it was cool not to like him. That being said, this is who i thought we would pick. I thought it was him or Lawson, but Tyler made more sense. I kind of like the pick. We dont need a superstar PF. What we need is what Hansborough will bring. I think he's going to be a 16 and 10 guy. I love putting him on the frontline with Roy Hibbert. And our scoring will come from Granger and Rush ( who was outstanding the last month of the season and will have a huge year this coming season ). Our PG situation is decent. I love Jarrett Jacks leadership. I like TJ alot as long as he buys into the system more and stays injury free.

My biggest question is what will happen with Troy Murphy. To be honest, now is the best time to try and trade him. They wont get any more value from Murphy then right now after he's coming off a 14 points, 10 rebounds, 45% 3pnt percentage year. I dont want to trade him, but we need to commit to Tyler Hansborough. We need toughness in the middle and Murphy is an outside guy who gets rebounds. We need inside toughness. Guys who will pound in low and peal defenders off Danny and Brandon.

Trading Murphy imo should happen. But if it dont, hell, more depth.

I really like this Pacers team this coming season. They will definitly make the playoffs. Might even win a round depending on Grangers continued development and the development of Rush and Hibbert. Bird has done a great job of rebuilding this team with good young players.

I have no clue what he was thinking drafting AJ Price tho. I mean this guy is another Tinsley waiting to happen.

RP 06-26-2009 06:44 AM

People are really killing Indiana for this pick. I think they're gunna be wrong. I'd rather have Hansbrough then most, if not all of the projects that got drafted after him in this weak ass draft.

Also, Dan Wetzel is killing him for being 6'8. Everything i've read says he's 6'10. Plus no one takes into consideration Indy's uptempo offense which i think Hansbrough will fit decently into. He's not being asked to come in and be some superstar stud, nor should he be expected to. There's like maybe 4 studs in this whole draft. Everything else is a crap shoot. So i'm fine with the Hansbrough pick. He's going to be a pretty good powerforward of the likes of a Udanis Haslem . I'll take that. Thats what Indy needs.

The dude is goo for 15, 11 and 2 blocks a game in a Guard ran run and gun system.

in Phoenix, I bet he will pull slightly better number, which were already good. 7 Footers with that skill level are far and few between.

Gertner 06-26-2009 10:28 AM

The center position isn't very deep. Not many in the west. Okur, Biedrins, Bynum..... not really a whole lot else.

Exactly.

Which is why he is valuable anda potential all star.

There is a complete lack of legit centers these days.

Supreme Olajuwon 06-26-2009 01:03 PM

Don't forget about Yao and Jefferson

But yeah Biedrins is good. 3rd in the league in FG%, 4th in the league in rebounding. Pretty decent numbers

Triple Naitch 06-26-2009 01:04 PM

So now Rubio might stay in Spain for a couple of years. Minnesota just completely fucked themselves.

Brujesino 06-26-2009 02:03 PM

as a warriors fan i dont want amare we dont need another scorer who cant defend

Hanso Amore 06-26-2009 02:25 PM

Word is Rubio wants to play in a big city or he goes back to Spain.

Right now they are thinking Rubio to the Knicks for Wilson Chandler and Hill

RatedGSuperstar 06-26-2009 02:31 PM

From Bill Simmons' annual draft diary:

Quote:

4:51: I have to come clean: If the Zombie Sonics take Rubio or Curry, they will be employing my favorite college player of the decade (Kevin Durant); my favorite international player of the decade (Rubio) OR my favorite college player of the past two years (Curry); two other college guys I loved (Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook); and if that's not enough, they have my favorite young coach (Scottie Brooks) and my favorite GM who didn't go to MIT (Sam Presti). At some point, all these things will override "They have scummy owners who hijacked the team from Seattle." I don't trust myself to handle this well. I am an only child. I'm selfish. I care about me only. And if I'm watching 75 Zombie Sonics games next season, at some point, I'm going to want to go to one.

Just know that, if I switch to the dark side, I won't do it half-assed. It will be like when Hulk Hogan joined the nWo. I'd see my editor (and die-hard Seattle fan) Kevin Jackson at the ESPYS, shake his hand, pretend to be nice, then hit him with a steel chair, do 10 leg drops on him and rip off my Hugo Boss suit to reveal a jersey of the Team That Shall Not Be Named as Erin Andrews screams, "Nooooooo! Nooooooo!" like Tony Schiavone. You'll get your money's worth. So again, I'm giving you a heads-up now. OK? OK.
Simmons is hit and miss, but I thought that part was pretty good.

Definitely seems like a lot for a guy that seems to be leaning more towards going back to Spain from what I've read.

The idea in going to NY is Rubio wants to play in a big city or he goes back. If he gets the trade, he will stay.

He is basically being Eli Manning.

If he cant play for the team he wants, he is taking his ball back to Europe.

Yeah, I know. It just doesn't seem like the TWolves have that much leverage with a deal. He obviously doesn't want to be there so if they want something from him they have to deal him. And it seems the Knicks are the only team I've heard him wanting to play for.

I could see something like Hill/Robinson for Rubio. Can't imagine the Knicks would give up Chandler and Hill.

Hanso Amore 06-26-2009 03:10 PM

Robinson and Hill would be a good deal. But that would leave Minnesota with the shortest backcourt in the NBA (Flynn and Robinson)

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-26-2009 03:33 PM

Heard his dad wants him to stay in Europe, come on I know he's pretty young but give me a break. Let the kid make his own decision

I don't think Hansborough is gonna be a 16 & 10 guy - that would be borderline star potential. He could be a decent bench guy though

Hanso Amore 06-26-2009 03:47 PM

Hansbrough is too small, not athletic enough, and his style will be neutralized.

What made him a great collge player is going to be his downfall in the NBA.

He will probably end up like a Mark Madsen type player...

Hanso Amore 06-26-2009 03:49 PM

RP is really buying way too much into his team...

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-26-2009 03:58 PM

Where's Charlie Villanueva gonna end up? He could help the Cavs a lot since they still don't have anyone that can guard guys like Rashad Lewis or Lamar Odom

Hanso Amore 06-26-2009 04:13 PM

He is going to want a good chunk...might settle for the mid level money to the cavs. Would be a good fit. They need someone to suck up some minutes at PF.

ClockShot 06-26-2009 04:25 PM

We got Darko. Sheesh.

Anywho, just flashed on ESPNews that the Knicks are gonna place a call to the T-Wolves about getting Rubio. That should be good.

And with Charlie Villanueva, they still wouldn't have anyone that can guard guys like Rashard Lewis or Lamar Odom. ;)

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-26-2009 05:27 PM

haha that may be true but at least he would be a better match up than anyone they have right now.

Hanso Amore 06-26-2009 09:56 PM

what do the numbers on the balls that the players are picture with mean?

Juan 06-26-2009 09:57 PM

The jersey number, i believe

Hanso Amore 06-26-2009 10:11 PM

I though so too, but none of them matchg up....Blake griffin is not number 84...

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-27-2009 01:56 AM

I think it's the year the team was established

-edit
Just looked it up and the Clippers were established in '70 so I'm not sure.

Dunno what else they could mean, I'm not even totally sure what pictures you are even talking about though so I'm just basing it off of Griffin and the #84 ball you mentioned.

-edit again lol

The Clippers moved to LA in '84 so that must be it......

Juan 06-27-2009 03:07 AM

Yeah, you're exactly right. The year the team was established.

SammyG 06-27-2009 05:25 AM

lol @ Rubio. Who the hell does he think he is?
