Yeah, got it downloading on Steam right now. Would have already been playing it, but there was a cock up and pre-orders didn't unlock right away.
|
Oh and there's some new mode called "Archenemy" where you team up against one big boss.

Yeah you still can't create your own decks from scratch. You can only swap out cards for the pre made ones like the last one. Now thats whats GAY
|
No, liking Metallica is what's gay. :p
Seriously, though, I just don't like the "yearly iteration" deal. I put it in quotes because I know it's not really yearly at this point, but considering how new the old game is to PSN and Steam, I wouldn't be shocked if they had "DotP 2013" in the works already. Regardless, there is little they could do that would merit a new game in this case over say, DLC. |
I like that this was a new game, lets a lot of new decks in while maintaining some balance. For £6.99 I can't complain at a full new game.
If it was actually yearly, that would be bullshit though. |

Downloaded Magic 2012 yesterday, but I won't be playing it anytime soon.
|
I should give it a shot. Of course, my Xbox and PS3 are still in storage until I can be arsed to snag them and my TV.
|
It's all BDC's fault. Make him buy you a new tv.
|
True. BDC, buy me a new TV.
|
Gonna get this for steam later probably, never played the game at all, just fancy an alternative card game...
|
So it's basically the same game with a slicker interface and superficial changes. Not surprised. However, the decks from the demo still seem too similar to DotP to make me care much.
BDC can still even use his "eat my bears" catchphrase. With totally not grizzly bears. |

Can you take cards out of your deck? I've been told by multiple folks that you can add all the unlocked cards you want, but are unable to take the starter cards out of the deck.

Started playing the archenemy campaign last night and got to Tezzeret. Used Jace and the guy with the dragon deck as my partners and I used the vampire deck. Tezzeret didn't even stand a chance. Jace is by far the smartest AI partner I've had yet in this campaign, with the Merfolk bitch being the dumbest.
|
Merfolk bitch.
|
I tried the demo, got slayed by Koth... The thing where, if he eliminates a creature then the troll gains a stone or w/e was really fucking me over.
|
You can take cards out of your deck in this one, but you of course can't go below 60 cards.
Pretty fun. |
Just found out that you can in fact invite 2 friends to help you play the archenemy campaign. So KK, if you need help beating it, or want to do it faster, you, BDC, and I can beat that campaign together. Much easier than doing it with 2 AI. I already have my white deck completed and I'm almost done with the vampire deck.

If they sell us 30 bucks worth of expansions and then hit us with a new one in another year or so, I'm going to kill Stainless, Wizards, and everybody in this thread not named BDC. BDC will be left to tell the horrors of my wrath. And of male pattern baldness. |

So it's weird being stuck with a 60 card minimum in this game, though when you consider the last title allowed some decks to get to nearly 90 if you included the good cards.... |
60 is the minimum, and always has been for constructed decks IRL. 40 is the minimum for sealed deck or draft play.

It may be now, but "always has been" is totally false. Sorry. |
Slightly askew of the topic, but did anyone else hear about this?:

Yeah what a nerd.
|
I play with Jace's deck mostly. It relies a bit too much on a couple if cards but I have a similar deck in TCG that is a heavy illusions deck. Lord of the Unreal is my friend. I usually copy LotU with phantasmal image so he benefits from hexproof. Once that happens, good luck.

The Jon Finkel story is pretty ridiculous. The girl clearly just wanted hits on her blog or whatever, but putting him down because he plays a card game is just sad.
Especially considering he's earned over 300,000 playing magic and way more playing poker professionally. Man, is Duels buggy. Many game freezes, other stupid glitches and a big one where when you zoom in on a card, you can't zoom back out and thus can't really play anymore. The Kiora Atua green/blue deck is pretty insane. Eldrazi and a kicked rite of replication on anything big (Primeval titan and basically put the rest of your lands into play? yes please) The expansion will be adding a Liliana deck, an Ajani deck and one other one. The Kiora deck adding mass polymorph is going to be hilarious. |
Magic: The Gathering Online
I used to play M:TG a few years ago. (I'd say it's been atleast 5 years since I've been involved in playing)
I've been considering getting back into it, but instead of going cardboard, I would go with MTG: Online. Does anyone else play this? Any tips? Reviews? Thanks :) |

I got the newest Duels game on PS3 but I don't really play anymore. Guess I've "grown up" :( |

You're like Peter Pan with shitty musical tastes. |

Oh shock. It's an annual deal now. |
Well yea, they're releasing it on XBLA, PSN, and Steam yearly to coincide with the new Core Set. At least this is a game worth buying yearly, unlike say Madden or Call of Duty.
|
""
|
Glad you agree KK. It's a cheaper investment too.
