If they work out a package for him, I really think the Patriots would benefit from signing Earl Campbell. Sure his best days are behind him but that just means no other teams want him so the Pats can get him on the cheap.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-28-2010 12:25 AM

Maybe they will just pick up another Hall of Famer in the sixth round of draft next month

Droford 02-28-2010 09:12 PM

Im conflicted on T.O. to the Ravens talk because on one hand they need WRs and on the other he'll end up a major distraction and probably not be any better than he was with the Bills.

RoXer 03-01-2010 02:47 AM

Arizona's eventful offseason will continue this week when the Cardinals release former first-round pick Antrel Rolle, an NFL source said Sunday. Rolle's release will follow Kurt Warner's retirement and the Cardinals decision not to use their franchise tag on linebacker Karlos Dansby.

Rolle will become the premier safety in this year's free-agent class, but it is still possible the safety will return to the Cardinals. Arizona would like to have Rolle back, and the two sides continue to talk about a potential return.

With less than a week until the start of the March 5 free-agent signing period Rolle wants to see what he's worth at a time when the Cardinals are reluctant to pay him more than the $12 million that would be owed to him this season Rolle had four interception and was a Pro Bowl alternate this season.

A starter on the Cardinals' Super Bowl team, Rolle moved to free safety in 2008 after playing cornerback for his first three seasons. He has 12 interceptions and four touchdowns in his career.

The Ravens could use a CB but he's probably out of their price range.

Team Sheep 03-01-2010 05:44 AM

Thomas Jones :wavesad: I guess it is time, he's getting on a bit and we'll be fine with Greene and Washington, but still :(

CSL 03-01-2010 06:01 AM

HOW FUCKING DARE YOU USE 'WE' WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN PLAY FOR THE GOD DAMNED TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big Fat Mike 03-01-2010 01:09 PM

How dare you use so many exclamation points.

RP 03-01-2010 07:49 PM

Colts Superbowl loss + Purdue losing Hummel for the season + Possibly losing Gary Brackett to free agency = Me not wanting to wake up in the morning.

OssMan 03-01-2010 08:14 PM

T.O. to the Ravens please. More reasons to hate the Ravens + now can actually root for the Bills to do well

Big Fat Mike 03-02-2010 02:07 PM

Poor Tim Tebow...everybody hates him.

Gonzo 03-02-2010 07:45 PM

You know, normally I hate when stories get killed to death, but I'm intrigued by Tebow. I pretty much manually adjust how much ESPN I listen to, so maybe that's why?

Anyways, I don't really think he can make it as an NFL QB, if he does, great. I really do want to see the guy succeed at some level in the NFL. He obviously has that "love/hate" thing going on from people. Tebow seems to have a lot of natural leadership qualities and really seems to be emotionally invested, and is a real good guy off the field. I'd like to see him make it.

Jeez Lou Weeze

Jesus Shuttlesworth 03-02-2010 11:56 PM

How did Taylor Mays 40 at the combine go from an unofficial 4.2something to an official 4.4something? Does this happen a lot? I never really pay attention to the unofficial vs official times but for some reason this one jumped out at me.

utterly ridiculous and grammatically accurate

sorry some of us aren't illiterate meat heads

Supreme Olajuwon 03-03-2010 12:00 AM

I don't know about you, but I prefer taking credit for my own accomplishments, not trying to include myself in areas where I don't belong.

DrA 03-03-2010 12:09 AM

The NFL uses "partial" electronic timing, which means that they start the timing by hand. I'm not exactly sure why they do it like that. There can be huge differences in hand and electronic times. At Virginia Tech I remember they were timing Michael Vick and DeAngelo Hall at like 4.09 in their workouts, which would be impossible for them to do at the actual combine.

FearedSanctity 03-03-2010 12:19 AM

Pete Carrol apparently had Mays timed at 4.19

Problem is at the combine they go by when the player first moves instead of a whistle, so it's really a judgment call on the part of the person timing

DrA 03-03-2010 12:40 AM

Just read up on it. Apparently for each run they time it in three ways: two hand held and one stopped electronically. So each team essentially gets six times for each player after they run twice, which they then can look at however they want. The "official" time I think is the electronic time.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 03-03-2010 03:31 AM

I just don't get see how they can't have some sort of motion censor at the start and at the end to get an accurate time. I mean people have walked on the fucking Moon.

Supreme Olajuwon 03-03-2010 11:33 AM

maybe the NFL wants teams to do their own scouting or something I dunno

Reavant 03-03-2010 12:25 PM

its a recession

Old shit is 10 times better.

CSL 03-04-2010 01:46 PM

I think the new ones will look better when not set against a white background but yeah, the old ones are definitely better.

Reavant 03-04-2010 02:26 PM

yay the nfl is fixing things that are not broken!!!

OssMan 03-04-2010 03:37 PM

How are they gonna paint that on the fields

Gonzo 03-04-2010 04:05 PM

I don't care so much about the logos as I do the actual trophies.

NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports "all indications are" that the Falcons are likely to sign free agent CB Dunta Robinson.

Atlanta realizes its biggest need is cornerback, targeting the Texans' 2009 franchise player and re-signing incumbent LCB Brian Williams to a one-year deal on Thursday. The terms of Robinson's deal likely won't be revealed until after midnight tonight. No. 2 UFA cornerback Leigh Bodden's market will then be set, although he'll probably get a shade less guaranteed.

Heros Welcome 03-04-2010 11:10 PM

Now I've had my doubts about Robinson because I thought he would command a lot of money and TD had said in the past that he doesn't like tying down big money in FA, and would rather build through the draft. Also the fact his last 3 seasons were sub par, but you could chalk that up to the knee problems he had.

This past season he had a good year 64 tackles, no picks though, but thats ok. He would come in an instantly be the # 1 corner that we desperately need and also would allow us to go another route in the Draft. Hopefully Sean Weatherspoon!

LETS GO DIRTY BIRDS!

Jay Glazer's twitter page Got somethin else for you guys, jets& bolts on verge of trade. cromartie goes to jets in exchange for a high pick in 2011 draft. 2nd or 3rd.

Heros Welcome 03-05-2010 12:01 AM

Done deal. Cromartie is a JET for a 2011 draft pick.

Emperor Smeat 03-05-2010 12:09 AM

Quick question: If a team places a 1st Round and 3rd Round tender on a player does that mean if another team wants to do a trade they must give up 2 picks in the draft ?

Edit: Never mind ESPNews just went through what a tender offer meant. 2 picks would be the minimum offer.

Heros Welcome 03-05-2010 12:22 AM

Lance Zierlein of KGOW in Houston reports that the Redskins are "charging hard" after free agent Julius Peppers and that a deal is close.

Emperor Smeat 03-05-2010 01:18 AM

Panthers cut QB Jake Delhomme. They were willing to take the $12.5 million cap hit than keep him which means they either really like Moore at QB or figured nobody would be willing to trade for a declining QB.

The cap impact softens a bit since they saved $5 million by cutting another player though.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 03-05-2010 01:22 AM

New trophies are garbage but whatever with the logos. Why would they change the trophy? Makes no sense to me.

Supreme Olajuwon 03-05-2010 02:19 AM

Apparently Arizona wants a 3rd rounder for Boldin. Bengals better jump on this offer mad quick

Big Fat Mike 03-05-2010 12:40 PM

The Jets still won't be able to stop Peyton Manning.

Heros Welcome 03-05-2010 12:46 PM

As long as the Jets can get a DE or an OLB that can help bring constant pressure on the QB so they dont have to blitz the house every down, I think that Jet D is going to be even better than this past year.
