Ratings be damned. The Observer Award results are in.
Tony Booker of the Year (obvs), AEW Promotion of the Year (obvs), Weekly show of the Year is Dynamite (obvs). Proof that Dave isn’t all pro-AEW, WWE also won some awards: worst promotion, worst weekly show for Raw, etc. |
WWE got every "worst" award. How RAW is rated the worst weekly show over Rampage is insane.
I think the only good award WWE got was best gimmick for Sami Uso. They claim the observer awards are voted on by fans. I'm calling shenanigans on that. Fans may get to "vote" but their votes don't matter and Meltzer just puts out his personal list. |

Lol at the Observer awards.
|
They could very well be voted on by fans.... but the fans who care about the observer and care about voting in it's awards would be fans who would be heavily pro-AEW
|
Nope. Nuh uh. Not buying that. Meltzer and TK are the only 2 people on Earth who would vote Rampage as a better show than RAW.
|
Hell rampage was voted as the 3rd best show. Come on.
|
There was about 2000 votes. 2000 votes from people so dumb they willingly give Dave Meltzer $13 a month. Those are not people who have reliable opinions.
|
Khan winning in his worst year of booking shows just how bad the competition is.

Reality TV, nope but I know its been shown to work. Chat show... Hell no! |
hmmmmm WB Discovery has announced they are getting out of the regional sports network business altogether and has informed the major sporting leagues of their decision.
|
Thats not a point of concern for AEW. WBD isnt bailing on sports in some sort of point of moral objection to athleticism or anything. WBDs broadcast partner Diamond Sports is going under making their stake a money pit.
|
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR BRAVES BASEBALL AT 6:05 EASTERN ON TBS THE SUPERSTATION???
|
Shockingly nothing. The teams affected:
MLB - Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies NBA- Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets NHL- Seattle Kraken, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vegas Golden Knights |

lol so the claim about dynamite bringing in 4 million viewers has been clarified. They counted every TV that was tuned into to TBS from 7pm until midnight for at least 1 minute. They literally counted a bunch of people that didn't even watch a single second of dynamite. Such bullshit.

Winning those awards is an admission that they are not the best, just that Smarks are gonna vote for the lesser than. |
The thread vibe in the days before the Dynamite rating compared to the days after the Dynamite rating is nuts. lol

Just wait till Tiny buys WWE.

That's exactly what tiny needs: another show to play real-life EWR. How do we make this happen?

XLs post there already has 78 million likes. Of course I'm counting every person that visited TPWW in the last 6 months as a like.

When AEW gets a third hour, I wonder if people are going to start factoring that third hour into its performance on the night?
|
Lol I see where this is going. This fucking guy is really getting ready to factor in the ratings of a talk show airing after Dynamite as part of Dynamite’s rating in order to stick it to people who dare factor in the 3rd hour of Raw as part of the rating... for Raw…
Goddamn. |
It’d be very late into the game at this point for Noid to start judging things as they are. Even if he is Mr Good Faith.
Also, it’s a reality show isn’t it? |
Well considering AEW counts viewers from 7pm-12am when making claims on their viewership, I'm not understanding the issue with Noid counting that hour. AEW counts it whether its their hour, a talk show hour, people slapping each other or a rerun of Hunt For Red October, so what's the difference exactly?
Sounds like a certain Fan is in a state of what's known as THE SHAMBLES around here. |

Also, why do we have one weekly Raw thread when WWE has registered Raw as three separate hours. And people are always complaining “Raw sucked” as if it’s one thing when they should be specifying Raw 1, Raw 2, or Raw 3. THERE IS NO RAW SO YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SHOW AS A WHOLE ARE INVALID!!! WWE SAID!!!
https://media.tenor.com/55lRWG-PmboA...lthy-frank.gif |
Sweet, I'll make 3 RAW threads just for you.
|
Quote:
|
A large chunk of the AEW show threads are people talking about what comes afterward and what they had for dinner anyway.
|
Not 3 Raw threads! 1 thread for each of the 3 Raws! How are you not getting this!? It’s so simple!
There is 1 Raw on TV but 3 Raws on television. |

The Dynamite thread is lucky if it goes 2 pages without spam. Splitting that up? Sure, go for it.

I dunk on you with stupid memes because you have earned it, mostly with idiotic posts like the one I am replying to. |

Saw a tweet earlier from Tony saying he has huge announcements (plural) coming. Watch out Raw (hours 1 & 2).
|
This is going to be hilarious. He’s drawn appropriate comparisons to Dixie Carter, but this is getting undeniable now. I’m just waiting for Josh Mathews to be All Elite.
|
858,000 for Dynamite
Time to fold up shop |
TK and The Elite not draws, confirmed.
Bring back Pretty Peter! |
That’s off the back of a PPV bump too. They had a chance to lure in new viewers when they had the artificial bump two weeks back and now they’ve got their audience and are running them off. It’s a good thing they’ve got Jeff Jarrett vs. Orange Cassidy booked for next week.
|
AEW does not have a vision. The criticisms of bookers is often that they just do what they want to do and not factor in what fans are actually hungry for. Tony Khan is no different. The PWG ironic wrestling stuff does not work. No one wants an insincere product. TK is going to jam it down people’s throats and declare it a success regardless of what the reality actually is.
He erroneously won Booker of the Year for a third time. He can step away and call his run successful. But he’s on the backfoot now he can’t just enact what he fantasy booked from the start. It’s time to put someone else in, identify what works and what doesn’t, and make the changes that are going to be reflected in the ratings, since their job will be conditional on their performance. Theoretically, anyway. Tony isn’t a results-driven boss, and even smart guys are probably going to leave barriers of entry like The Elite and Orange Cassidy alone. This is what AEW is. If you like it? Fine. That’s your prerogative. But it’s awful and it objectively has a ceiling on its appeal. And it’s a shame for us who are craving good wrestling. |
smackdown - 2.45 million
raw - 1.83 million nxt - 624k dynamite - 858k |
Was NXT the big show this week, or is that next week? They could be getting dangerously close to overtaking AEW. Especially since this Shawn Michaels/Grayson Waller stuff could go somewhere. I know people aren’t expecting Shawn to get back in the ring, but I dunno…guys get itchy and Trips might call in a favor if he smells blood in the water…
|
There’s also the potential for a Raw/NXT crossover, some guys that aren’t popping on the main roster to go back, the possible influx of guys more polished than the absolute rookies (Jay White, Nick Aldis) and some NXT guys actually finding their feet on the main roster as a way to lend credibility to NXT on the horizon. They’re a hot-shot away from really giving it to Dynamite.
|
Also, holy shit at SmackDown.
|
Guess begging people to watch on Twitter during the show wasnt the secret formula
|
Quote:
Shawn isn’t returning. It’s Waller vs. Gargano on Stand & Deliver which probably pops the NXT audience in person but doesn’t bring many extra eyes in. I don’t think NXT touches AEW anytime soon, and if they do it’s more probable that it’s AEW coming down to NXT levels than NXT going up to AEW levels. |

Remember the very first Dynamite ever got 1.4 million? It is weird they lost 600,000 viewers right? I mean they have 3x Booker of the Year, surely he has put on amazing TV, weird the audience is disappearing.
