Hate Yankees baseball right now.
|
Ryan Howard had 3 hits and is batting over .250. These are the things I get excited about now.
|
Meanwhile, the Tigers avoided getting swept by the BREWERS and now sit comfortably a half-game ahead of the TWINS
|
Boy I sure do miss when the Nats were 8 games out of first place. They completely erased that deficit in record time and are now alone in first place in the NL East.
Mets are 10-15 since their 11 game win streak and are just 5-11 against teams with a record over .500. Can it be April again? :( |
I like what I'm seeing from the Astros so far. And Jose Altuve is really fun to watch.
|
Girardi cooked the bullpen today so Garrett Jones is on the bump for the 9th inning right now.
Sabathia is all but done and I'm betting Esmil Rogers gets sent down for this bullshit today. |
McCutchen with a 2-run HR off of Harvey in the first.
Welp, that'll be a loss for Harvey. I don't think the Mets are capable of scoring 2 runs most days. |
And the road to recovery for David Wright just got a lot worse. Suffered another setback and now has spinal stenosis.
Could range from something that will clear up with rest to something that will actually end his career. Hold me. :( |
Lol Reds manager got tossed while exchanging lineup cards before the game. Earl Weaver once did that for the Orioles.
|
What was the reason?
Ump didn't like the lineup or something the manager hated about the previous game? |
He was arguing with the 2nd base ump/crew chief Jim Reynolds probably over something from last night game.
|
Os and Marlins scoreless through 12 and os just had Matusz get tossed for a foreign substance on his arm
|
This just in:
The Yankees suck. We now return you to your regularly scheduled holiday programming. |
Hey look, Yanks are winning.
|
'ell yeah
clobber those Royals |
Braves and Dodgers pull off a 6-player trade with Alberto Callaspo as the centerpiece.
Dodgers get: Alberto Callaspo, Juan Jaime, Ian Thomas, and Eric Stults. Braves get: Juan Uribe, Chris Withrow. Now, Callaspo vetoed an earlier trade yesterday which would have been a 1 for 1 swap with him and Juan Uribe. But I guess he got a "stipend" to approve the trade. Oh and Eric Stults promptly got DFA'd. |
Noah Syndergaard hit a 430 foot bomb today. Holy mother of christ. Mets are going to a full on 6-man rotation and a 4-man bench through August so I imagine Syndergaard will wind up as their top PH off the bench ala Carlos Zambrano/Micah Owings.
|
What is going on with the twins right now
|
Mike Pelfrey seems to have reinvented himself up there. That's all I know about the Twinkies thus far.
|
:y: Eduardo Rodriguez amazing debut for the Red Sox tonight. Came from last year's trade with the Os for Andrew Miller but he's been great at Pawtucket this season.
Could even get called up sooner than expected because of how great the start was and the current starters being way too unreliable so far. |
One of my favorite obscure slash lines throughout baseball history is Kevin Youkilis' on 3-0 counts: .000/1.000/.000
So he literally never swung on a 3-0 count in his career. He'd either walk or take strike 1. Guess that's why he was the Greek God of Walks. |
Yankees are gonna activate Tanaka on Wednesday for his start. Here's hoping it's all systems go for a 2nd time.
But if something comes up again this season, just get the Tommy John surgery over with and spend the offseason grabbing some pitching. |
I have a tough time believing he'd be able to pitch in top form and stay healthy at the same time. Getting the surgery is probably a given at some point.

Bartolo Colon strikes again |
Example of how bad the Mets bench is: Colon is 2 for his last 3. Bench players Darrell Ceciliani, Eric Campbell, and Danny Muno are a combined 1 for their last 54.
|
Yikes. Only a matter of time before he evolves to his final form; BOMBtolo Colon.
|
Thought the Yankees pulled the ripcord at home with their sweep of the Royals. Instead, it didn't work and lost 3 of 4 to the lowly Athletics.

The Orioles are 3 games under .500 but only 2 games out of first place

I wish Bartolo Colon was on a not rival team. Love him
|
Tigers have been frustrating lately.
|
like baseball
|
not ready to love again
|
I got to go to Target Field last month. It was cool and our seats got upgraded and the Twins won and we all got hats.
|
Phillies release Grady Sizemore.
How the mighty have fallen. :nono: |
This is horseshit
|
God the fucking Padres are unbearably frustrating. They have games like last night against the Pirates where the score a heap of runs and pitch effectively, then come out and get fucking waxed 7 to nothing.
Mets have ridiculous good pitching. I understand not putting up much of a fight on offense with DeGrom on the bump. But 7 to fucking nothing? Christ it's not even competitive. |
