I put the mission aside till mikes stamina had been built up, then I went back and smoked that bitch.

road doggy dogg 09-23-2013 01:27 AM

I collapsed my first attempt too, literally like a foot from the finish line. Was feeling all smug and full of piss and vinegar because she was beating me 'til the last stretch then I started sprinting hardcore on the straightaway. My health was diminishing but I still had like 1/4 (maybe 1/8) of red health bar left so I thought I was golden then NOPE boom down. When I retried I just kind of "soft" sprinted (held down X) and occasionally tapped it a bit to gain some speed, idk kind of paced myself better and beat her pritty easily

Disturbed316 09-23-2013 02:27 AM

Yeah, first time I raced her I crashed into people on the final stretch and lost. I got her next time though.

There have been several PS3 games with this sort of option. The patent was relatively specific.

Disturbed316 09-23-2013 04:07 AM

Just completed my first mission as Trevor, I think he is my favourite already.

Purgatory 09-23-2013 04:30 AM

So yeah, apparently it wasn't the Social Club that wasn't working right last night as I was able to create an account using my phone. Turned out to be something with my browser.

I haven't gotten to Trevor yet, don't think I'm even close. I've been looking for Stunt Jump locations.

I am a 360 player.

I mean you can just play your music over the game anyway but I liked how it was integrated in the Xbox GTAs and THUG. NFL 2k5 also used it to awesome degree.

DOA5 and TTT2 lets you set your own music to stage and menu screens. Why this isn't standard blows my mind.

You guys need to run more, I for whatever reason do all the time instead of car jacking.

#BROKEN Hasney 09-23-2013 04:57 AM

First triathlon I did I crashed the bike and was losing pretty heavily. Luckily, just before the sprint stage, I managed to run over the 1st place guy accidentally and then won the race easily.

Savio 09-23-2013 07:42 AM

Does anyone else hate these highways?

Wehttam 09-23-2013 11:45 AM

i thought it would be fun to do my first triathlon when i first got trevor. miraculously won. was in red health for most of the bike ride/run. don't know how it happened.

Kane Knight 09-23-2013 12:56 PM

Everyone else was scared of him.

RoXer 09-23-2013 06:46 PM

I enjoy the soundtrack. Better than IV, easily.

The FlyLo station might surprisingly be my favorite station. It seems like it isn't long enough though. The intros and breaks repeat themselves a lot more often than on other stations. I was listening to it for a long time and was prepared to complain that there was no Captain Murphy on it but it snuck on right before I started a mission one time. I'll have to look up a playlist and see what tracks are on the station. When he goes "It's Flying Lotus AKA _____ AKA ______ AKA _______" just remoinds me of Flaser. And the fact that he doesn't post enough.

The rap stations are really good. Still DRE is considered classic rap. We're getting old. I love the talk segments but it seems like there isn't enough. That JB Smoove bit is really good if you can get past the "OOOOOOMMMM" parts of the beginning. Smiling Faces a good choice. OOOH Child a good choice. I think the classic rock is a bit of a letdown and there's one station I haven't listened to at all for some reason.

Savio 09-23-2013 07:36 PM

Can't believe these ASSHOLES don't wear fucking seatbelts!

Savio 09-23-2013 09:04 PM

Final mission
SPOILER: show
Didn't like the death of Devon, water was too shallow, explosion wasn't big enough, what if the trunk popped open and he escaped? Maybe he's in a sequal? I dunno wish the car at least sunk or blew up more.

While I think Trevor should have been killed, especially for murdering Floyd and his girl. didn't think Franklin should be the one to do it.

Don't know why Michael wanted his wife back so bad when she was sleeping around.

OssMan 09-24-2013 04:12 PM

Shit my girlfriend just bought me this game "randomly," my plan of waiting until December to buy it and play it when I don't have an "insane amount of homework" to do is not gonna happen

Have to talk about it to U fuckers now

GTA Online supposedly contains a microtransaction system.

Quote:

It appears that Grand Theft Auto Online will allow users to purchase in-game cash using their own money, according to evidence unearthed by Reddit users.

According to Reddit user “1880,” when you open the store section in Grand Theft Auto V the console requests an XML file. The XML file includes the downloadable content from the game’s special editions, but there are also four “Cash Cards” ranging from $100,000 to $1,250,000. The cards have the following description:

“Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character’s bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting.”

OssMan 09-24-2013 05:18 PM

Game feels mad surreal

Crashes are more like San Andreas and Vice City than IV

No longer "unstoppable" in your car/doesnt flip over every 5 seconds

Front wheels keep giving out

Kalyx triaD 09-24-2013 06:44 PM

Strange, I'd think they would have you buy DLC items like weapons and cars.

Now this makes me think in-game purchases are finite and you have to 'keep them up'. Should be interesting seeing seeing how the online economy works.

Snipe the guys on the roof and top floors of the house first they are probably sniping you to death. Then work on the rest.

Also remember to use Trevor's special ability to slow down to sort of like the bullet time from earlier games.

Stealth is good at first, but I'm not even sure you can completely stealth it. If you drop the guards first, it makes it manageable, however.

Unfortunately, as with many missions in this game, you're still somewhat beholden to luck.

Fignuts 09-25-2013 02:30 AM

Yeah, the one shot kills can piss me off at times. Especially when I'm in cover and it hits me anyway.

Yeah, I notice this too. Also, I haven't really noticed an engine stall from too many direct hits in the front end, like IV.

Minor gripe, but missed. :(

And in missions with a large number of enemies, it more or less becomes a battle of attrition.

Savio 09-25-2013 11:27 AM

I miss the days when GTA did not have check points in their missions.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-25-2013 01:06 PM

I really don't. It's a game-changer in the right way. You could always say restart from the beginning if you really wanted to.

Kalyx triaD 09-25-2013 01:09 PM

When you die, manually restart mission from the start. No checkpoints, hardcore man, enjoy.

Not at all. That was one of GTA's worst 'features'. Half the time, you'd have to make the whole freaking drive all over again and it was so much wasted time.

Savio 09-25-2013 03:22 PM

That's what we used to do on NES.

GTA:SA was good where it would let you skip a boring part if you fail.

I felt so much happier when I beat GTA:VC's final mission with no check points than I do now when I beat current gen games

Fignuts 09-25-2013 03:28 PM

No, starting from the beginning of the level in a NES game is not the same as having to drive halfway across the map over and over again. Stop it.

Emperor Smeat 09-25-2013 03:29 PM

Never got too far in San Andreas but a checkpoint system would have helped out a lot for Vice City at least for the chase and timed missions.

Although with 1HK head shots I am sorta glad they have the checkpoints in.

OssMan 09-25-2013 03:31 PM

Being able to control your car in the air... wtf is with that

Magic. Duh.

Or it might be the meth.

Fignuts 09-25-2013 03:34 PM

Not all the time, as meatball said.

If you're so hungry for challenge, then try golding every mission. Or play a game that is focused around challenge, like Dark Souls or Hard Corps.

Rofl, I thought I was getting 1 hitted by head shots but wasn't entirely sure. Thought I might have been looking over my health being low or something. But sometimes I KNEW it had to be the 1 hitter quitter at work. Glad to know I wasn't tripping.
