Press Release: Kimbo And Hulk Hogan To Star In "Kung Fu U" July 30, 2008
By Jason Perkins, FightLine.com Staff

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Stereo Vision Entertainment, Inc. (OTCBB: SVSN), a film production company focused exclusively on developing high quality, low cost, polarized 3D feature films, announced today that the undefeated Mixed Martial Arts phenomenon, Kimbo Slice, will be co-starring with Hulk Hogan in Stereo Vision's hilarious kids' comedy "Kung Fu U" in 3D. "Kung Fu U" in 3D is a Disney-type comedy about of a bunch of nerds and misfits that are sent away by their wealthy parents to the Brentwood Academy (a.k.a. Kung Fu U) to learn the finer arts of self-defense. It's a heart-warming romp where the rather weathered warriors come to the rescue for the kids, and in turn, the kids rescue the warriors’ seemingly lost souls from what had been their eternal apathy. It's a feel-good story that reminds us that we're all the same, no matter what our age, or where we came from, and that we should all stick together.
Stereo Vision's Chairman, "Baywatch" creator Doug Schwartz, stated, "We're very happy to have Kimbo Slice co-starring in 'Kung Fu U.' He has an enormous media presence, and he'll fit right in with our star Hulk Hogan, and the other cast members in our made for kids 3D movie. We hope to have 'Kung Fu U' in 3D in theaters by the fall of '09."

Holli Griggs, the 38-year-old woman who was driving a 2007 Cadillac Escalade when Quinton "Rampage" Jackson sideswiped her in his monster truck, has suffered a miscarriage, The Daily Pilot reports. Griggs' fiance told the local paper that doctors had been concerned when they noticed a significant loss of fluid in Griggs' womb following the accident. Griggs was 16 weeks pregrant at the time of the incident.
Jackson, who lost his UFC light-heavyweight title on July 5, wasarrested July 15 afternoon after leading the police on a wild car chasein California through Cosa Mesa to Newport Beach.
Jackson hit twocars turning off the 55 Freeway into Newport Boulevard and sped away when a police driver tried to pull him over for driving witha blown tire and talking on the cellphone. Jackson struck more cars while continuing to evade the police and almost hitpedestrians when he drove onto the sidewalk. Jackson ran throughseveral red lights before finally stopping for the police under gunpoint.
Jackson was transported to the Costa Mesa City Jail where he was booked for felony evading, reckless driving and hit and run. He was released on $25,000 bail by UFC President Dana White.
Griggs has not yet filed charges against Jackson.
Damn..

Quinten "the Baby Killer" Jackson

Rob 08-03-2008 06:45 PM

That's bullshit. The miscarrage was meant to be stress related and there is no way they wouldn't check for stuff like this at the time of the accident.

Kris P Lettus 08-03-2008 07:00 PM

I heard the woman just wants money, but it's still fucked up..

you dont know what you're talking about. Miscarriages are not caused by stress. Thats a fact. Miscarriages within the first 20 weeks are most commonly caused by the egg in the uterus not developing right. Sometimes symptoms nor pelvic exams will show signs of a miscarriage. There are specific tests that would have to be done by a doctor. And these tests would not be checked for at the time of an accident. A miscarriage can happen from physical trauma.A woman can have symptoms of a miscarriage for quite some time before she even realizes she's having a miscarriage. The thing that is in Rampage's favor is that there are many reasons a miscarriage might happen. I think its something like 1 in 4 pregnancys end in a miscarriage within the first 2 trimesters. Anything from tobacco, obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, progesterone deficiency, severe cases of hypothyroidism , high levels of alcohol consumtion or caffeine, polycystic ovary syndrome and quite a few other things could be the cause of the miscarriage. So it would be difficult to prove that the accident caused the miscarriage. Furthermore, the insuation that this woman is seeking money is absolutely absurd and moronic. If she retained a lawyer, it surely was because of the initial accident and possible criminal charges.

The woman is claiming a stress related miscarrage. Not me.

Fabien Barthez 08-04-2008 06:44 PM

Yeah, the next Affliction card is looking better than the last. Fedor/Arlovski, Linland/Belfort and Tito/Babalu. Works for me. :y:

Reavant 08-04-2008 06:53 PM

its Arlovski/Barnett now

Fabien Barthez 08-04-2008 06:56 PM

Oh. Does that mean Fedor won't be clear of medical suspension, or would Couture have fight clearance by then?

Reavant 08-04-2008 06:58 PM

Fedor isnt cleared i guess cuz Randy isnt.

Fabien Barthez 08-04-2008 07:02 PM

When is Randy free to roam then? I thought it was October or November this year?

Barnett is a douchebag.. He tried to "call out" Aleks Emelianenko before his fight at the last Affliction show..

Reavant 08-04-2008 07:28 PM

Yea Barnet is pretty weird... hard guys to read sometimes when he talks

Kris P Lettus 08-04-2008 07:32 PM

I know he beat Aleks before because Aleks gassed but I seriously think AE would KO him if they fought now..

It all spawned from Aleks saying he would beat him in a rematch and Barnett is acting like a child.. Is Emelianenko supposed to be like "oh he'd beat my ass if we fought again.."?? Highly unproffesional to do it before a fight at an event like that IMO..

I hope Andre destroys him..

Reavant 08-04-2008 07:45 PM

I dont think that Barnett has the tools to beat Arlovski. I mean he is way more dominant on the grownd and if he got andrei there he would kill him, but I dont think he can do it.

Barnett has OK hands. Andrei would light him up on the feet.

Barnett has a pretty good body clinch that he can use for throws and takedowns, but so does andrei. In fact Andrei is the only guy Ive ever wrestled that had a better clinch than me that wasnt an all-american wrestler. I really cant imagine that Barnett coud be any better but who knows I guess.

And andrei is way to fast for any of Barnett's shots, so I dont see how he could get him to th grownd unless Andrei does a bone hea thing where he lays on the mat like he did with Rothwell.

Vastardikai 08-05-2008 04:21 AM

Catch Wrestling FTW.

Fabien Barthez 08-05-2008 06:15 AM

I dont think Andrei staying on the ground against Rothwell was a bonehead thing. It looked to me like he could have pulled the trigger any time, but chose to draw out his first fight in a ring. Even on the bottom, he was causing way more damage to Rothwell.

Reavant 08-05-2008 09:28 AM

What? thats seriously the dumbest statement ever.... watch that fight again! Rothwell was hitting him hard with punches and elbows. And he wasnt trying to draw the fight out longer. That would be the dumbest thing ever. He doesnt hae the best submissions and hes not that dangerous from his back so why would he risk having a guy that outweighes him by a possible 30 pounds by that time of the fight on top of him. The reason Andrei even ended up on the ground was that Rothwell scrambled out of a heel hook and andrei thought he was going to roll on top instead of get up.

Fabien Barthez 08-05-2008 01:38 PM

I don't know, I've watched it a few times and he causes alot of damage in the tussle off his back in that fight. And it looked like, to me that since he was bashing Rothwells head up, when he got up, Ben was backing out of it, and that seemed why he stayed down.

Then the second he got back up, he dominated him. I didn't see a point in that fight where Andrei wasn't in control.

Barnett would get him down easy. Worst wrestlers than Barnett have done before. Personally I think Barnett would walk through Arlovski.

And for whoever asked about Randy Couture, it's not even a lock he is free in October. If the courts say he needs to fulfill his full UFC contract than that is that. He is chosing not to fight. UFC isn't holding him to ransom because they want to use him. I think Randy is going back there to lose to Nog and retirement.

Reavant 08-05-2008 03:34 PM

we will see i guess :D

McLegend 08-05-2008 06:20 PM

Dana should go to Randy and be like "Randy if you beat Mintauro or whoever. you win your freedom. However.... If you lose you work for the UFC forever...FOREVER.

A match for someone's freedom would sell PPV's. Be fuckin awsome.

Rob 08-05-2008 06:44 PM

That's what Dana wants. Let your top heavyweight leave after beating your #2 guy or keeping him forever if he is a loser.

minor Details.

Reavant 08-05-2008 10:32 PM

That type of stipulation would sell massive amounts of ppvs

Crimson 08-05-2008 10:35 PM

And Dana could walk down to the octagon like Vince McMahon does with his strut before the match..that would be so hilarious.

Crimson 08-05-2008 10:36 PM

With the No Chance theme of course

If I wanted to watch an MMA promotion that thinks it's a pro-wrestling promotion, I'd watch EliteXC...

Tito OrtizAs expected former UFC light heavyweight champion and recent free agent Tito Ortiz has agreed to a contract with Affliction -- a deal the 33-year-old called a "ground-breaking record contract.

"

Ortiz broke the news to si. com.

Ortiz, who hadn't signed the deal at the time of the report, said he planned to and that his first fight would be against Renato "Babalu" Sobral at Affliction's second show, which takes place Oct. 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas.

MMAjunkie. com (www. mmajunkie. com) previously reported that Sobral has been publicly campaigning for the fight. Soon after his unanimous-decision victory over Mike Whitehead at Affliction's first show, Sobral also said that Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio had been working to put together the fight with Ortiz -- one that Sobral called his "dream fight.

"

Ortiz's final UFC fight came in May at UFC 84. He suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Lyoto Machida to push his record to 0-2-1 in his past three fights.

However, Ortiz remains a top box-office and pay-per-view draw, and he said that Affliction gave him a long-term deal that will keep him involved as both a fighter and executive involved in the company "back work.

"

"I'm going to a company that's going to take care of me, a company that's going to respect me, a company that's going to put me in the forefront and make me the ambassador that I've always been," Ortiz told si. com.
"I think (Affliction executive) Mr. (Donald) Trump respects me at that value to get it. My heart's not with the UFC anymore because of how bad they treated me. They don't respect me and they don't see me as a businessman. All they think is that I'm a punk fighter that's going to fold, and I've already proven that I'm not going to fold to anything by not resigning with them.

"

Ortiz also hinted that, in addition to Sobral, he wants a rematch with Frank Shamrock. He also said a move up to the heavyweight division, one in which Affliction has half of the world's top-10 fighters, could happen.

Ortiz credited Affliction executive Donald Trump, whom Ortiz met while a contestant on "The Celebrity Apprentice," as a major reason he signed with the rookie promotion. He said EliteXC and the American Fight League had also contacted him with offers.

Affliction is hosting a press conference today in Las Vegas. The Ortiz signing could be announced during the event.

Id hate to completely contradict your last post Krisp... but here I go...

Tito Ortiz (Pictures) knows it’s all about the timing.

Which is why most of the fight community tuned in to a news conference Wednesday in Las Vegas for the Oct. 11 Affliction 2 "Day of Reckoning" only to hear that the fighter would not only not be attending, but also that he has not yet been signed by the promotion.

SI.com reported Tuesday that the boisterous light heavyweight had become a free agent on Monday and was hours away from announcing a deal with Affliction, though the report was later updated to describe Ortiz’s signing as a possibility.

Legal counsel for Affliction Entertainment said Wednesday that Ortiz’s signing was only a “rumor,” and that when he was released from his contractual obligations, the promotion would be interested in signing him.

“Don Trump Jr., myself and Tito engaged in a conversation,” said Michael Cohen, executive vice president of The Trump Organization and special counsel to Donald Trump, who started a business relationship with the promotion in June. “There is nothing substantive that was discussed other than the fact we are interested in sitting down with him, which we're planning on doing in the very near future.”

Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio would not address Ortiz's claims to SI.com that the potential deal would be a “ground-breaking record contract” that included duties outside the ring as well. Atencio said he has not yet spoken with Ortiz.

Ortiz, 33, recently satisfied a multi-fight contract with the UFC. He has served as one of the promotion’s top three draws for the last 11 years. It is believed Ortiz has recently completed a “matching period” that is standard within the promotion’s contracts in which Zuffa can match any rival offers made for the fighter’s services.

Disillusionment between UFC President Dana White and the polarizing Ortiz has been well documented, and the fighter has publicly commented that he would not re-sign with the UFC on numerous occasions.

Ortiz has been here before, however. In 2005, the fighter strongly hinted he would be signing with the now-defunct World Fighting Alliance, only to come to terms with Zuffa’s majority owner, Lorenzo Fertitta, in the negotiation’s eleventh hour.

The December 2006 rematch between Ortiz and Chuck Liddell (Pictures) remains the highest grossing MMA pay-per-view in the sport’s history, reportedly netting more than 1 million buys.

Ortiz (15-6-1) dropped a unanimous decision to Lyoto Machida (Pictures) (13-0) at UFC 84 “Ill Will” on May 24 in Las Vegas, marking Ortiz’s second loss in three fights.

Kris P Lettus 08-06-2008 08:43 PM

I don't really care, except that I want Babalu to destroy him..

Rob 08-06-2008 09:28 PM

I don't. Affliction needs it's big stars winning fights and pulling in crowds to help create competition.

The CyNick 08-07-2008 12:02 AM

whoever wins, they will be out of business soon enough

Yeah that was a good board. PP was alright too. I generally just follow Rob around wherever he goes.
