CM Punk is awesome!

Cool King 11-06-2011 03:16 AM

Two members of TV/TV let you hear the demo version of "Smoke & Mirrors".

It actually sounds alright.

Rammsteinmad 11-06-2011 03:57 AM

I bet you watch TNA don't you!

Xero 11-06-2011 06:11 AM

 at Punk.

God I love that those things are caught on tape. Wonder how many golden ones we miss.

XL 11-06-2011 08:26 AM

Remember when Alex Riley was the next big babyface prospect?

Good times.

Shadrick 11-06-2011 08:34 AM

I think he still is. When he comes back lets see if they put some steam behind him.

GD 11-06-2011 12:01 PM

Johnny Curtis and fellow OVW or FCW companions don't have kind words for Mr. Riley.

XL 11-06-2011 12:13 PM

Is he out injured? Didn't realise that. To be honest though, I think a lot of his heat was due to the angle with Miz. I don't know if the crowd could get that into him without that dynamic.

I get the impression that the "heat" on Riley is because he never wanted to be a wrestler/it was never his dream/he wasn't a fan. Dunno how accurate that is. Anyone know more?

Xero 11-06-2011 12:19 PM

I never saw Riley as anything, really. Literally all his heat was his association with Miz. There was nothing that stood out to me as anything special. Just another faceless jobber in the WWE world who happened to get pushed too hard and too fast.

Rammsteinmad 11-06-2011 01:06 PM

Riley did a great job as Miz's lackey. But ever since then he's just been a generic face.

Xero 11-06-2011 01:07 PM

Yup. And I knew that would happen by the second week of the split. He had literally no possible direction after the Miz thing was done. There was no real character there to build off of.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-06-2011 02:03 PM

So glad Austin dropped the gimmick of paging people and calling himself "the 316" like his right now in early 1998.

Xero 11-06-2011 03:12 PM

I liked the pager gimmick, but it would have gotten stupid if it was run into the ground. Only really remember one or two spots with that, honestly.

Don't remember him calling himself "The 316" at all.

Evil Vito 11-06-2011 03:24 PM

Riley works far better as a heel. He got some nice crowd reactions after the Miz feud, but it has fizzled out considerably. I see him heading over to SmackDown in next year's draft - if not sooner.

 how Kelly Kelly got her name.

Quote:

Kelly Kelly and WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter appeared on Miami’s 560 WQAM Sports Radio Friday promoting the on-sale date for Wrestlemania XXVIII tickets. Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who co-hosts the show, recalled watching Dusty Rhodes when he was growing up in Florida. The segment concluded with Kelly explaining her how ring name was created.

“My first day, my wrestling name was going to be Kelly. Then, I came back the next week and Vince (McMahon) had this wonderful idea, ‘Let’s call her Kelly Kelly. Let’s just give her two first names; we’ve never done that before,” she said. “So, there you go.”

Cool King 11-06-2011 03:40 PM

Why was I never told that this song was used as The Undertaker's theme on the NBC repeat of WrestleMania XXVII?

SPOILER: show
Seriously, Katy Perry as The Undertaker's theme? :wtf: It's pretty insane, but I can see why they chose it. Mostly due to the lyrics and also that Katy Perry is pretty big in popular culture.

Skippord 11-06-2011 03:52 PM

lol awesome, kind of hope they use that when The Undertaker comes back now

Corporate CockSnogger 11-06-2011 03:53 PM

Lol it'd be great if that was his theme when he returns.

Corporate CockSnogger 11-06-2011 03:54 PM

Not as bad as

Kelly made her WWE debut on June 13, 2006, becoming the youngest female performer in company history at age 19. Her character, an exhibitionist, was introduced performing a striptease for the crowd. She reveals Vince McMahon demonstrated the routine she performed in front of the crowd that night.

Kelly recalls, “I’d only been training for two months when I found out I was going to start appearing on TV—as an exhibitionist! When Vince McMahon showed me the routine, I was in shock, but, you know, anything to get my foot in the door. It was the most nerve-racking minute of my life.”

Razzamajazz 11-06-2011 04:35 PM

Yeah. Once he was naked came the part where she ensured that she would still have a job five years later.

Xero 11-06-2011 06:27 PM

Ryan Clark has now reported this on the front page, and he refers to Punk making to "OK" hand sign as "doing John Cena's trademark 'O' hand gesture". I'm sure that is how Punk intended it.

Xero 11-06-2011 06:32 PM

So was the binocular thing a reference to Repo Man's mask?

Lock Jaw 11-06-2011 06:43 PM

Xero 11-06-2011 08:23 PM

No WWE event is worth that. Even if they resurrected Chris Benoit and Eddie for a grudge match with Pillman as the ref.

Xero 11-06-2011 08:26 PM

In fact, there is no single day entertainment event worth that. And I'm talking the low end on that graphic.

Hey, you could probably get Ric Flair to wrestle someone live in your living room for the price of one of those tickets

Xero 11-06-2011 08:28 PM

Flair would do it for 50 bucks.
