Jeter only 3 hits away from tying Gehrig for the most all time hits by a Yankee.

Pretty crazy seeing some of the Yankee records Jeter will have when he is done. Just kinda weird seeing him up there with Gehrig, Ruth, Mantle, etc...on some of these records.

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MELKYYYYYYYYYYYY

Oh nothing buddy, some guy with a fucking 8 ERA held the Dodgers to 1 run on 5 hits over 7 innings, then the worst bullpen in the majors decided to work their 8th inning magic (which I thankfully did not stick around to witness). Another day at the office.

Billy Buckner's ERA before his last 2 starts (both against the Dodgers): 8.63 (currently 7.43)

Billy Bucker's ERA in starts vs. the Dodgers: 1.89

Did I mention he has a fucking 8 ERA?

Skippord 09-09-2009 06:24 AM

Esmerlin Valdez done fucked up

OssMan 09-09-2009 01:42 PM

No Yankees player has ever had 3000 hits? Really?

Supreme Olajuwon 09-09-2009 01:58 PM

Not 3000 while in a Yankees uniform.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-09-2009 02:01 PM

Paul Waner, Dave Winfield, Ricky Henderson, and Wade Boggs are all technically Yankees with 3,000 hits. But they got a lot of them on other teams.

Loose Cannon 09-09-2009 02:19 PM

Jeter

Redding opens spring training by allowing five runs against the University of Michigan and begins the season on the DL. Maybe he should of stayed there. His ERA stands at 5.70 through Thursday. lol

Why do the Mets owe Bobby Bonillia money and who decided to make it that small that it doesn't get finished until 2035 ?

uh... do you understand that all that matters are Wins and Losses? Suck it. 4 runs in the 8th, fat bitch.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-09-2009 05:05 PM

You two are so classy. I just love it. I hope you both have children so you can teach them sportsmanship.

Captain Jeter decided to play today.

ClockShot 09-09-2009 10:18 PM

THERE IT IS!

SammyG 09-09-2009 10:29 PM

Congratulations to Derek Jeter. I really like him a lot.

Evil Vito 09-09-2009 10:52 PM

Jeter is a guy that just drives me absolutely insane. Perennial All Star, a million endorsements, face of the franchise, always kills the Mets in interleague play without fail.............but all it is is a testament to how great he really is. Congrats to him.

Scary to think that in a few years there aren't going to be any single digit numbers left for the Yankees to wear. Jeter's #2 is obviously getting retired, and I'd have to think Torre's #6 will as well when he stops managing.

Skippord 09-10-2009 12:51 AM

MR LATE NIGHT SETH SMITH!

lol walk off walk

SammyG 09-10-2009 01:10 PM

Yeah, I hate Troncoso. I stopped watching it the second he threw the ball away.

YOUR Hero 09-11-2009 11:02 AM

Seems like the only time the Jays win is when they play early untelevised games. They save all their losses (many) for TV.

The Gold Standard 09-11-2009 03:40 PM

Jeter is going to do it tonight in his first at bat. I am feeling it.

Boomer 09-11-2009 03:54 PM

He's probably going to do it tonight before his first at-bat. That's what makes him great.

The Gold Standard 09-11-2009 04:09 PM

You are probably right. I mean he is the fucking man

Triple Naitch 09-11-2009 04:16 PM

I respect the shit out of Jeter, but you guys are so gay.

DaveWadding 09-11-2009 05:01 PM

JETER LIKES WINE COOLERS

ClockShot 09-11-2009 10:30 PM

2,722!

YOUR Hero 09-11-2009 11:33 PM

Jays win. ON TV!

Droford 09-12-2009 01:46 AM

With a game in less than 13 hours, it amazes me that they are trying to get this game in still in the 7th with the Os up 10-4.

Oh, and I think Jeter is giving a press conference about how great he is while the game is being played (he was pulled) and the stadium is just about empty.

Strange night..

YOUR Hero 09-12-2009 10:55 AM

Jeter stated somewhere last week(??) that he wants to break Pete Rose's hits record.

Anyone think he can do it?

Evil Vito 09-12-2009 10:59 AM

I really don't think so, but he'll be close. Given that he averages around 190 or so hits a year and is already 35, I think he'll finish up somewhere around 3,700-4,000.

YOUR Hero 09-12-2009 11:02 AM

Iichiro, has + 3,100 hits or so playing in Japan and the MLB. Think he can surpass rose's numbers?

ClockShot 09-12-2009 12:55 PM

He just cracked 2,000 last week. I know he gets maybe around 200 hits give or take a season. I mean, he owns the single season hit record, right?

Then of course, age plays a factor as well.

Evil Vito 09-12-2009 01:18 PM

lol the Mets' magic number for being eliminated in the Wild Card is 2. They are likely going to be eliminated from the Wild Card before the division. The Royals are in that boat already, they are out of the Wild Card and one more loss from them or a win by the Tigers, White Sox, or Twins puts them out of the division.
