Red Sox are gonna be lacking soon in the fatass lefty department.

Wow. So you actually went?! That's tough luck bro. Hopefully next game he will be back and ready to go....without the stiffness in his throwing arm :shifty:

Supreme Olajuwon 07-28-2010 03:38 PM

Dunn would be a great fit in Chicago and Boston too. I wish he would stop being a butthole about DHing and just accept that he's not meant to play defense. Nobody would think less of him.

Yeah I hadn't seen Strasburg pitch yet so my friend and I decided to go "on a whim." We had no tickets and there were actually more people trying to buy then sell, but this one scalper tried to sell me two $10 standing room seats for $40 a piece. I was like fuck that and offered him $40 for both of them. Ended up paying $50. We got in right as they were announcing the lineup and the guy was like "And here's today's starting pitcher, Miguel Batista" and everyone was just like huh and I immediately started yelling to everybody that it's all a scheme and the Nationals are a fraud of an organization

Yeah I'll take Fielder first any day, and I hope they do. I just figured if Dunn hits the FA market that the Red Sox will have an interest in him.

I was there too. My first game as a visiting fan. The Braves ended up not showing up anyway, so I guess you have something to be happy about.

But I got to see Strasburg pitch in Atlanta, so if I had gone just to see him, I'd be pretty pissed too. No way 40,000 people go to Nationals Park on a Tuesday night without SB pitching.

Yeah. I was in Atlanta as well. Huge crowd. Made it feel like a playoff atmosphere which we haven't had at Turner Field in a few years. He is starting to turn into the traveling circus that the Yankees have become. Wherever he goes, whenever he plays, that ballpark will be packed with fans that usually wouldn't come out that night (including Washington). Props to yall guys for making it out there. Hopefully next time he will be able to go at 100%.

Saw Boomer today

Legendary624 07-28-2010 09:10 PM

Back to the same old National's Park tonight. Management should be happy that they at least stole a sell out.

ClockShot 07-28-2010 09:14 PM

Tigers aquire Jhonny Peralta and cash from the Indians for minor league catcher Giovanni Soto.

ClockShot 07-28-2010 10:26 PM

Dodgers aquire Scott Podsednik from the Royals for Lucas May and Elisaul Pimentel.

Gonna be a crazy couple of days.

McLegend 07-28-2010 11:04 PM

Dominic Brown

MVP 07-28-2010 11:49 PM

Damn I was hoping the Red Sox would land Podsednik since Cameron should be on the DL with his sports hernia and who knows when the hell Ellsbury will be back. Plus, he'd be great off the bench and/or pinch running in the playoffs if the Sox get there.

Gertner 07-29-2010 12:16 AM

Peralta is fucking horrible. Just throw him down and away and watch him whiff.

Gertner 07-29-2010 12:20 AM

Lol Brad Mills just shut out the O's wow. Mills is about 9th on our starting pitching depth chart. 12-0 against Baltimore. At least Jose didn't knock out another couple bombs tonight.

Skippord 07-29-2010 12:37 AM

if the Rockies keep playing like this I may have to shoot myself in the face

I was in Section 318, but actually spent a lot of time on the 200 level talking with some friends I knew who were in DC for the summer. About the 5th inning onward, I wasn't in my seat.

I was about to post about the poor Mets. They make this GRAND comeback and then decide to pitch to Pujols with first base open. Jerry Manuel watch 2010 can officially start up once again.

He had a 1 hitter going til the 7th when he gave up another hit and they pulled him because it was still a 1-0 game at the time.

At this point with 61 games left, the Os are 31-70. I could easily see them not winning 10 more games to avoid the 40 win mark for futility. They're just that bad right now and I dont see any signs of them getting better if they trade guys like Wigginton and Scott away before the deadline since thats the majority of their offense gone and they barely manage to average 3 runs a game.

DaveWadding 07-29-2010 04:41 AM

Apparently the Phils have a deal done for Oswalt, he just needs to waive his no trade.

Droford 07-29-2010 04:54 AM

They should never have gotten rid of Cliff Lee. Oswalt isn't going to be the answer.

DaveWadding 07-29-2010 05:34 AM

Roy 1 & Roy 2

Evil Vito 07-29-2010 09:56 AM

I abandoned hope of a Mets playoff run this season after that horrible road trip. I could never outright root for the Braves but I would def prefer they win the division instead of the Phillies. I'm sick of the Phillies.

But, if they get Oswalt they'll probably win it. They are already on their way without him there. His W-L record sucks but that's mostly the Astros' fault.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that all 8 playoff teams from last year wind up there again this year. God that'd be boring.

Evil Vito 07-29-2010 10:40 AM

lol I love the crazy stories of notable AAAA players, like Mike Hessman who the Mets called up. 329 career minor league homers, but can't hit for crap once he is called up to the bigs.

In Hessman's last game with the Toledo Mud Hens last year, he played an inning at every position in one game. Started at catcher, then moved around the diamond at each spot, then in the outfield. Then he went onto the mound to close the game out, blew the save, and took the loss.

YOUR Hero 07-29-2010 11:37 AM

Mills and his 86 mph fastball handled the O's last night. Thing is though, he's got a great change up and curve. Last night he didn't look out of place. The Jays have some pitching depth right now, that's for sure.

RP 07-29-2010 12:05 PM

Cubs are dead and Derrick Lee should stay cause he's been dead all season so he fits right in.

Supreme Olajuwon 07-29-2010 02:43 PM

When I went to the Reds/Nats game last week when Strasburg was pitching, the comment was made that if Dusty Baker got too close to him, he might destroy his arm. We all had a light chuckle. But it turns out Dusty's witchcraft isn't so funny after all.

McLegend 07-29-2010 04:00 PM

Oswalt OKs trade to the Phillies.

I like that.

McLegend 07-29-2010 04:11 PM

Also Pedro I think it's time to start throwing.

DaveWadding 07-29-2010 07:33 PM

Miguel Tejada to Padres for relief prospect Wynn Pelzer.

Evil Vito 07-29-2010 07:37 PM

Rangers get Jorge Cantu for minor league RHPs Evan Reed and Omar Poveda

So was he traded?

McLegend 07-29-2010 07:59 PM

Yes he was traded.

Phillies gave up J.A Happ and two other prospects. Plus Astros have to pay 11 million of Oswalt's salary.

Adder 07-29-2010 08:15 PM

Not keeping Lee was dumb, but that's history now. This is a nice move. Oswalt is still a top tier pitcher.

ClockShot 07-29-2010 09:22 PM

Heard on the way home the O's hired Buck Showalter.

Give that guy all the freedom in the world, and let Angelos spend some cash, he can bring that team back to promience in a few years.
