I believe so. All I know of the guy is that he is more or less taking Daryl Smith's place due mostly to being younger and cheaper and that he was drafted by the Bucs in 08. Aside from that, I know nothing about our whole 1 free agent signing.

The Condor 03-13-2013 11:02 PM

No, the name is familiar, but aside from being a name on a roster no bells have been rung

Arizona has signed their best qb now on their roster

SPOILER: show
Josh cribbs who was a decent qb in college at Kent state[ and holds most of the school qb records

Then I guess it makes sense he's a Jaguar now, as I said.

Like how Garrard is the best QB on the Jets?

Geno Hayes was a half decent linebacker for the Bucs

he might not have actually been half decent

I'm calling this right now: the Patriots will select Ryan Swope at some point in the draft. He's a white wide receiver who went to a college in Texas, so he's already pretty high on Bill's list, plus he ran a 4.3 40 time.

Emperor Smeat 03-14-2013 08:07 PM

Stephen Jackson's deal with the Falcons ended up being a 3-year, $12 million deal.

Eagles signed Connor Barwin but was labeled as a bad signing because of the years and amount (6 years, $36 million).

Mario Manningham agreed to about a $2 million pay cut in order to stay with the 49ers for next season.

Patriots signed Leon Washington to a 1-year deal.

Greg Jennings was demanding around $11 million per year but nobody is interested unless he drops it by a good $3-$5 million.

Seahwaks signed Michael Bennett to a 1 year, $5 million deal.

Ed Reed is preparing to announce the Texans as his team for next year with the announcement expected tomorrow.

Something bad must have happened during negotiations but Ed Reed went from "almost certainty" to now 50-50 in signing with the Texans. 49ers and Colts are the next set of teams if the Texans don't get him.

Dwight Freeney, Emmanuel Sanders, and John Abraham are meeting with the Patriots today.

Falcons deal with Tony Gonzalez ended up being for 2 year, $14 million.

Pats resigned Kyle Arrington for 4 years.

Danny Woodhead signed a 2 year contract with the Chargers.

Dolphins the heavy favorites to keep Jake Long with the Rams currently not offering a decent deal to make him consider leaving at the moment.

Yes but the downside is whatever they expected to save from his pay cut won't happen nor getting him cheap should other teams start to bid for him.

Also means they probably lost out on Dwight Freeney since he didn't want to wait on Denver to get that situation handled before potentially agreeing to sign with them.

Dumervil's agent blaming the Broncos for the paperwork mishap saying they waited too long to send him the paperwork and tried to sneak in an extra non-agreed condition at the last minute. Also teased Denver is out as a potential team for his player.

Quote:

As ESPN's Andrew Brandt would say, "there will be lawyers." Dumervil's rep is alleging the Broncos changed the terms of the pay cut at the last minute, delaying the process. Dumervil's camp sent its ill-fated fax at 3:55ET, right as the Broncos were cutting him out of a supposed abundance of caution. The sides have yet to talk since the fiasco. We'd expect many twists and turns over the next 48 hours. Dumervil is looking unlikely to return to Denver.

The potential Ed Reed to Texans deal fell apart although they are still considered the favorites to get him later on.

Jets owe Darrelle Revis $1 million due to his bonus being triggered today and it will count against their cap regardless if he ends up being traded in the future.

The Bengals have.....they....well we are letting Rey Maluaga go (thank goodness) and We're being smart in negotiating with Andre Smith (don't give up all that money to this fat piece of shit). We did however Franchise Michael Johnson (great young DE that was developed in the Cincy system).

Wow, we've got a lot of young talent and we've actually got a system of identifying/drafting/keeping them???? Did Mike Brown Die? We've managed to keept talent in house, while only saying bye to Pacman Jones, Rey Maluga, and Maybe Andre Smith. With Baltimore imploding, and Pittsburgh getting old. Cincy is right there to repeat their 10 win season and get into the playoffs again.

Its either going to be him or Doug Baldwin from Seattle but looks like Indy is going after Baldwin first.

Tim Tebow was given a contract offer to play in the Arena Football League if he ends up leaving the Jets and nobody else makes an interesting offer for him.

Ed Reed expected to make his decision before the end of next week. Texans still the favorites but the Ravens are getting the chance to match or improve the offer since nobody else seems to be in the bidding.

Jets won't be able to trade Darrelle Revis for at least a few more weeks after everyone else teased they are letting his value plummet considering neither the Jets nor Revis hold any leverage for trade deals.

Nnamdi Asomugha meeting with the Saints today although 49ers still rumored to be the favorites to get him.

Dolphins expected to re-sign Jake Long.

Next Big Thing 03-17-2013 08:52 PM

Jake Long to the Rams. 4-years, $36 mil.

Emperor Smeat 03-18-2013 01:37 PM

A bit surprised Long signed with the Rams mostly because of all the recent reports kept teasing Miami was basically a lock to get him.

According to SI, nobody is interested in James Harrison and even a 50% drop in his value would barely generate any interest.

Miami considering going after Eric Winston to replace Long at the T spot.

Saints showing a lot of interest in signing Nnamdi Asomugha.

Bengals and Titans are the current teams interested in Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Emperor Smeat 03-18-2013 07:02 PM

Primarily as a veteran backup role but that was before Matt Hasselbeck was released. Now its probably as a Plan B/C if they can't find anyone else.

Quote:

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports up to ten teams have expressed interest in free agent Matt Hasselbeck, and the list could get longer.

This is obviously agent-driven, but Mort says the Cardinals, Bills, Bears, Bengals, Browns, Colts, Saints, Giants, 49ers, and Bucs are the clubs with initial interest. Per Cardinals beat writer Kent Somers, Arizona has begun reviewing the soon-to-be 38-year-old's tape. Hasselbeck was owed $5.5 million before the Titans cut him on Monday. He'd be lucky to get half of that on his next deal.

Its actually tearing the baltimore fanbase apart at the seams into the Pro Orioles/Fuck the Orioles The Ravens won a Super Bowl what have the Orioles done lately contingents..

Droford 03-18-2013 11:42 PM

as an Orioles Forum puts it:

Quote:

This year, Wednesday, September 4 after sundown is the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, and it seems that the league that will have games on Christmas and Thanksgiving will balk at having the game when one of the major Jewish holidays is occurring. They would like to have the game on the night of Thursday, September 5 instead.

I assume they'll play Wednesday but who knows. The NFL hates baltimore enough I could see them screwing the Ravens out of the Opening Night game...

Droford 03-18-2013 11:51 PM

Also because of the jewish holiday excuse its been inferred the NFL wants Pats/Ravens because Kraft is Jewish which is why the NFL would cow tow to the Pats for the schedule even though the 5th is still part of the jewish holiday as much as the 4th is.

Droford 03-18-2013 11:57 PM

Also, the Ravens are actually going after Dumervil. His LB coach in Denver the year he had 17 sacks is now on the Ravens coaching staff which they see as a plus. Like I said earlier, if they can sign him it makes up for everything but Boldin, they still need to find a WR.

Krimzon7 03-19-2013 05:08 AM

Also The Bengals re-sign Rey Malauga. Not insanely happy that this injury prone guy is getting broken off...but if he can stay healthy he can be a stud.

you say some really stupid things

Emperor Smeat 03-19-2013 02:15 PM

Almost 25% of the league's owners or co-owners are Jewish so I doubt the move was done solely because of Kraft. The NFL could easily swap that game out with Bal-Pitt, Bal-Hou, Bal-GB, or Bal-Den to maintain a great home opener.

Coutesey of Rotoworld:

* Ed Reed currently holding out on signing any new deal with the Texans until they raise their offer to him while also making sure Baltimore stays in the bidding.

* The Welker situation took another turn today after Welker's agents are now claiming the Pats did offer him a contract but it was a "take it or leave it" offer. Pats owner stated his offer guaranteed both years although it offered more in the first year if the incentives were reached.

* Victor Cruz currently rumored to be staying with the Giants. The issue is every team interested currently values their 1st Round pick being more valuable than Cruz and don't want to pay him Top 10 WR money.

* Titans signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a 2-year deal.
