Couple of recent news about the game.

First being ESPN and Capcom are collaborating on the upcoming Street Fighter V World Championship with the finals to be shown on tv on July 17th.

The other news being Balrog, Ibuki, and Story Mode dlc packs for the game were released today and requires around 16 GB in free space on the hard drive.

Story is ass. Get to play as Juri and Urien tho.

Thought Juri would be like ryu and cammy, and be more like her previous iteration, but shes mad different.

Story is full on fucking anime. I'm enjoying how ridiculous it is.

It does have a "so bad it's good" quality, but I still found myself cringing at a lot of stuff.

Also during Evo 2016 was the announcement of Juri arriving by the end of this month.

I don't play this game, but that seems a bit steep on the price point for cosmetics :|

Capcom has been pulling their usual shady crap since this game dropped. They've just been more stealthy about it.

They offered Alex and Guile for free for a limited time. In that time people's fight money just sat there since the characters weren't available to unlock in the shop. I garuantee capcom did that on purpose hoping people would impatiantly spend their fight money on costumes and colors, then drop real money on the characters when they are no longer free, since earning fight money after survival and story have been completed is a glacial progress.

Dude looks badass. Like Ken, he's had a big overhaul to differentiate him more from Ryu. That launcher looks like it has nasty potential, plus HOT SHIT you can actually see the Raging Demon attack. So hyped.

I'm treating myself to an arcade stick for christmas, so I'll be hopping back on this soon. Though I will be utter shit until I get used to thd stick.

Maybe this will get Roxer to play again.

lol Akuma's taunt is actually a strike that you can combo into his Critical Art.

Zangief is the only pure grappler in season 1, so I would guess we're getting a second here. Would be awesome if they brought in a Saturday Night Slam Masters character like Biff, or that fake Vader guy.

In "lol Capcom" news, they made the season 2 balance changes freely useable on the PC by accident.

Here's something interesting:
According to SteamDB, a new 'test200' branch has been added to the SFV depot (for reference, we are on 'test13'), which is 1.76 GB larger than the current version. What is notable is that unlike the other branches, it looks like Capcom has not put a password on this one, either by mistake or because this is intended as a yet-to-be-announced public test.

You can try to grab it by clicking on SFV in your library, selecting properties, going to the 'BETAS' tab, and selecting 'test200' from the drop-down.

Same goof by Capcom also ended up revealing the next update for the game is going to include a public badge of shame for players who ragequit a lot.

Funky Fly's brother just upgraded to PS4 and picked this up along with KOF 14. He's a really good dude. We'll be regularly throwing down, if anyone wants to join in. Typically later at night.

Yeah. Akuma is fucking nuts. Yet another character that I had nominterest in, in SFIV, who has been given very appealing modifications.

With that one down, here are the SFV leaks! Season 2's remaining characters are Abigail, Menat, and Zeku.

A second cinematic story mode is happening. The base roster plus the Season 1 characters were prologues for the general cinematic story mode. Season 2 character's story modes for Akuma, Ed, and Kolin, which all take place after A Shadow Falls are prologues for the second cinematic story mode.

Ready for the biggest of bombshells? Super Street Fighter V is happening.
But it'll be a free update.
It won't make the base game useless either. It's really nothing more than an update. A glorified one, but an expansion none the less.

But what does SSFV contain? Lets run that down, shall we?
It adds:
Arcade Mode
Extra Battle
Some kind of PvE mode against the Illuminati
Some expanding on the existing mechanics
New Critical Arts
But it doesn't end there. SSFV brings with it a UI overhaul, and maybe more than that too.
You're probably curious of the characters too, huh? Those 6 will be Sagat, Sakura, Oro, C. Viper, Q, and Necro.

Well chronologically, this bridges Sf2/4 to SF3, so it makes sense she looks a bit older.

I'm a huge fan of Sakura and main'd her for years. I think she looks fine. So she is fine.

Checked the update out for a bit. Arcade mode seems really cool.

People are saying Sakura is garbage and "low-tier". Dunno about all that but she is definitely fun to play. New anti-air fireball is cool.

Disappointed it's not Decapre. With the other characters already confirmed as Akira and Oro, the mystery character was the only one I was keeping an eye on. Oh, well. I still got my girl, Falke, to carry me.

Bleh, outside of Dan and Rose this season's group of characters isn't really doing much for me. Why does a Rival Schools character like Akira need to be in this game?

I think you're going to be in the minority on that one. People have wanted rival schools characters to cross over for as long as I can remember.

I think she looks pretty sick.

She actually reminds me a lot of how Julia played in sfxt.

She looks cool for sure but I'm just confused as to why the streams need to cross. I guess it's a receipt for Sakura being in their game 23 years ago. Which raises the question of whether or not we'll ever see another Rival Schools game.

Street Fighter, Final Fight, Rival Schools, and now Strider are in the same universe.

Tried out Akira for a bit. Nothing there that really interests me but like I said, this isn't exactly a character that I was hoping would be in the game. Oro is next on the list. Hopefully he's not too complicated.

Akira's theme does rock in certain moments, though.
