A few great matches tonight...a few MEH and WTF ones too...would give the show a 'C-' overall.

Sami can do something detestable for the right reasons and he's still loveable. He's like the embodiment of the Mark Twain quote, "Who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most" Even though KO is the most detestable monster on Smackdown, he didn't deserve Shane's death penalty.

Much better PPV than their last solo one, Battleground. Outside of a couple of snoozers, the event as a whole was pretty good.

I had thought about the slight possibility of Sami getting involved after Shane brushed him off on SD, but in the end, figured that would be a great idea so naturally, it wouldn't happen. Glad they did it.

I wish I had posted this, because no one is going to believe me, but I half-anticipated the Sami Zayn heel turn, lol. I figured "it kind of doesn't make sense for Sami Zayn to not be here," but it also didn't make sense for him to help Shane. I'm "surprised" they actually did it though.

Zayn will get to speak now and he will be great as the spoiled indy talent that hasn't had the main roster career he envisioned for himself.

Oh damn I just watched the main event. Wow, really good. What a bump and what a save by Sami. Great main event on a PPV for sure, probably Shane's best match aside from WM with AJ and KOTR with Kurt, as far as I can remember. I bet a Shane/Brock program would still be pretty good after all.

US Title match wasn't bad.

I vaugely did, too. I remembered enough that she had one. And she was on Comic View for a bit as a co-host of sorts.

But I guess her dying was one of those internet hoax things. Or I confused her with someone else. Either way, it was a bit after the whole "Shelton's mom" thing was over that I somehow was under the impression she was no longer amongst the living.

I'm not sure this is a heel turn for Zayn. Could be the start of one, but I think this is more a case of "As much as I hate Kevin Owens now, we were still best friends our whole lives, and I don't want to see him die."

I definitely assumed that this would be a heel turn, but if they did something slow, where they pretended they were not actually in cahoots, but always seemed to "help" each other, it could certainly be interesting storytelling.

Probably just better to have Zayn out-and-out heel though.

Nakamura beat Orton and Cena so they could build him up to lose clean to Jinder Mahal.

Feel like his facial expressions back up my theory. He didn't look super confident in what he was doing. Looked desperate and reluctant.

The only thing stopping me from assuming the Jinder as WWE champion experiment is going to carry on til WM is the fact that Lesnar's clearly gonna hold the Universal Title until then as well and I'm not sure they'll go that long without switching one of the belts.

I thought it was a pretty good show. Tag team cell match was great and the main event was fine for what it was. I really liked Jinder vs Nakamura match and actually enjoy Mahal in the ring. He's smart and powerful which is all he needs to be. If only he had not been rushed to the title scene I'd be fine with him. Just don't think WWE has used Shinsuke right in my opinion, talking with that mouth piece is stupid. Don't agree with the US Championship changing hands but I'd imagine AJ will have it back soon.

WWE has gone out of their way to make Shinsuke just another guy, probably not on purpose though lol

The problem is that he's Nakamura... and he's losing clean to Jinder Mahal.

It's insane how quickly and effectively they managed to kill the guy's aura.

One year ago, saying "Nakamura will be on the main roster in a year jobbing clean to Jinder Mahal" would just be something crazy you say to exaggerate how badly WWE ruins everything.

Jinder was totally off television until it came to having backstage skits with Rusev.

Trying to think of who Jinder Mahal's next opponent will be..... Is he just gonna fight Nakamura again? Feud feels kind of "done" and "lost" by Nakamura.

I would have suggested Sami Zayn as his next opponent, but I guess that isn't going to happen now.

AJ Styles is probably going to be involved with Corbin and the US Title for another month or two.

Bobby Roode seems like he is still going to involved with Ziggler for at least another match.

Just got done with Usos V New Day. Good god, that might be my favourite HIAC where they don't leave. It was brutal and uncomfortable in spots and that Woods fighting spirit near the end was fantastic. That fucking headbutt.

I'm glad Xavier has had more of a chance to shine recently. He's a decent wrestler and athlete, not the best in the world, but he's fantastic at adding those little details that can elevate a spot to something memorable with just the right facial or reaction. The desperation handcuffed save where he just collapses on top of Big E, getting in the face of the trapped Uso behind bamboo. Just little things that can elevate a moment.

Because he had no character. People would be much more on board now.

I fully support Big E being champion. He has the looks, the charisma and the talent.

I have this theory that Jinder being champion is WWE trying to make sure everyone "knows" RAW is the superior brand. I remember all the talk about Smackdown being the A show over RAW so I assume that is a common sentiment in the IWC. At the time, Jinder was on RAW, nobody liked him, and he was jobbing like Jinder does. Then suddenly he gets traded to Smackdown and wins the title within a few weeks and becomes unstoppable. The simple breakdown ends up being RAW jobber is better than everyone on Smackdown, RAW is clearly the superior product!

Obviously it had something to do with them trying to push into the Indian market as well, but I honestly think a lot of it was to make Smackdown look weaker than RAW.

Dang I totally disagree... I watched this show very late last night but since that match was first I wasn't very tired and was "into it". I just thought that match was to Shane/Owens as a slap is to a knock out punch. Grown ass men fighting with thin bamboo sheets taped together....:n::n: But they did do some good work in the match, however the whole concept of most of the match the worked totally stretched my suspension of disbelief.

Yeah he was still pretty green and bland at that point. Totally different guy now. Would have to re jig his fun explosiveness into a singles style.

Legit want you to take some of the shots Xavier did. I have and there's some give and flex which makes it "safe" in terms of serious injury, but it's still like being whipped with a belt. Probably hurt more than most of the other shit they did in the match bar that suicide dive doomsday. Not sure if it was supposed to be to the left a little to hit the chain, but it looked like Big E went head first into something more solid.

Also, they should have never replayed the thrown chair so I could pretend it was Sabu.

I really hope they aren't making Survivor Series a Raw vs. SmackDown themed event again, or at least not a main event that necessitates putting all programs on hold so that everybody can fight in brand-colored T-shirts.

SmackDown's would depend on where they go from here with the story but Owens and Zayn heading up the heel team would make sense with guys like Styles and Orton available for the face side. I think they could come up with something compelling.

Raw's could be something like Braun, Miz, Wyatt, Sheamus, and Cesaro vs. Joe, Balor, and The Shield

I'd much rather that than see a mishmash of those guys on the same team because "brand pride".

If you didn't dig that tag match last night, wrestling just may not be for you.

Usos and New Day have been killing it for months. Feel like the feud will continue to Survivor Series as well since there was another title change and they're not exactly trying to build up any other team on the blue brand.

Thought the Usos were the most boring thing ever until their heel turn, and they've just been amazing for the better part of a year now.
