Kalyx triaD 11-02-2009 05:50 PM

Neversoft really doesn't care.

D Mac 11-02-2009 05:53 PM

Yeah and there's no DLC at all this week because of Band Hero importing from what I understand.

Kalyx triaD 11-02-2009 05:58 PM

And Publishers continue to ruin the videogame industry for us all.

Kane Knight 11-03-2009 09:46 AM

I WANT TO GET AWAY...I WANT TO FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

D Mac 11-03-2009 06:21 PM

I got Band Hero AND Lego Rock band from my local video store! They had them in a drawer and didn't even put them out yet. Lego said "Check insert included with case for song export." And my rental copy didn't have it!

Band Hero had the instructions with the code so I should be able to export it.

D Mac 11-03-2009 07:09 PM

Well I see about 4 out of 45 songs I want from Lego anyway. Not worth 400 ms points.

G 11-03-2009 07:11 PM

you don't want the band hero code. give it to me

D Mac 11-03-2009 07:28 PM

Already used it. Worked. 2.20 GB download. 400ms. Total cost including rental price: 13 bucks :D

Playing these songs while you can't: PRICELESS

G 11-03-2009 10:42 PM

:(

Lego RB is being sent to me right now. Hopefully the seller is just flipping it and is still sealed with the code. :y:

D Mac 11-03-2009 10:45 PM

Spice Girls was fun to play. :shifty:

D Mac 11-03-2009 10:46 PM

"SOOOOO I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want."

D Mac 11-03-2009 10:47 PM

Lego RB had an export option in the music store but I got a can't retrieve info error.

G 11-03-2009 10:57 PM

I hope that means it's down and no one can do it right now.

D Mac 11-04-2009 03:29 AM

Yeah, found out Lego RB has an insert that has the code, and rental companies are instructed to destroy the insert. Oh well, at least I got Band Hero exported. It's better anyways. Hopefully Ghostbusters will become DLC later.

G 11-04-2009 01:43 PM

Downloading the pack now.

Went to Blockbuster and they had 2 fresh, untouched copies. Should have grabbed the other. :-\

I really think that we the fans of this franchise deserve to know what goes on a little more with this game. Some kind of game/DLC/import announcements would be great. I mean I go to the RB forums and see announcements there about their game ALL THE TIME. Future DLC, imports, exports, joint affairs with companies to promote their game. I come here and haven't seen a new announcement of any kind for like a few weeks. Come on, what kind of business you guys run here? It seems all about the money to me, not the people who bring you that money.

Probably getting Spoon, on top of the two you've mentioned. I don't remember who Nada Surf is, though I remember the name, so I might get that. Otherwise, Um....

I can't believe Guitar Hero gets one of the only tracks I was hoping M5 would release for Rock Band.

LOL yeah. We should sue them for false advertising. As this was one of the reasons I picked up GH 5.

G 02-06-2010 12:24 PM

I'm getting Band Hero in the mail soon. If the code hasn't been used yet, does anyone want it to import into GH5

Unfortunately, the previously announced Black Sabbath DLC for Guitar Hero 5 will not be available this week. We hope to have the content available for download at a later date, so stay tuned!

I was really psyched for this too. And I can guarantee you there won't be any compensation for it this week either.

Way to go fuckers. You failed again.

Kalyx triaD 02-18-2010 11:30 PM

In 2006, Activision bought Red Octane, publisher of Guitar Hero, resulting in series developer Harmonix launching the rival game Rock Band and starting one of the uglier public feuds in gaming. Today, Activision's CEO said shunning Harmonix was a mistake.

"When we were buying Guitar Hero, or buying Red Octane, the makers of Guitar Hero, we knew about Harmonix," he said today during a surprisingly warm and self-deprecating speech made at the DICE gaming convention. "We had always known them as sort of somewhat a failed developer of music games. They always had really great ideas but nothing that was really commercially viable until Guitar Hero. And [we thought], it's a good piece of software, and if we gave it to [Activision-owned Tony Hawk development studio] Neversoft, they'd knock the ball out of the park with this.

"We really didn't even think, 'Hey we should go to Boston, and meet these Harmonix guys and see what they're up to.' And, of course, if we had gone up, I think the world of Guitar Hero would have been rewritten. It would be a lot different today. And it would probably be a profitable opportunity for both of us and an opportunity where you'd have even more innovation in the category.

"A lot of times when you get caught up in the financial details of the business, it makes you overlook what's really important, which is who's passionate, who's committed, who's inspired and where's the next idea going to come from."

Fignuts 02-20-2010 02:54 AM

For those who don't feel like reading, I will summarize.

Activision: "We totally fucked up."

Kalyx triaD 02-20-2010 10:51 AM

Funny thing is, Neversoft were on the money as far as GH3 goes, then Activision had them move over to the band play style. I remember being pissed that Neversoft lost their focus. I think GH could have survived as a guitar centric vehicle, with a lean towards guitar centric songs. So fuck you, Activision, don't blame Neversoft for your fail.

Leading the charge on March 4, pop-punk trio blink-182 returns to Guitar Hero with a track pack featuring three of their biggest hits that helped shape the development of the pop-punk music genre. The blink-182 track pack features "First Date," the second single from Take Off Your Pants And Jacket, as well as mega-hit "All The Small Things" and the slow-paced, serious track "Adam's Song," both from the band's 1999 multi-platinum album Enema Of The State.

Grammy award winning band OK Go smashes onto the scene March 11 with "Here It Goes Again" and "Do What You Want" from their 2005 release Oh No. Longtime OK Go fanatics will also be thrilled to rock out to "Get Over It," the first single off of the band's 2002 self-titled debut album.

Living room legends can continue their St. Patrick's Day celebration as they download the Flogging Molly track pack on March 18. The three Irish-inspired favorites from the Celtic punk rockers will have fans jamming all night long to "Requiem For A Dying Song" and "(No More) Paddy's Lament" from the band's 2008 album Float and "The Seven Deadly Sins" from their 2004 release Within a Mile of Home.

The 80's return on March 25 with some of the music that made the decade famous, including the title glam metal anthem "Girls, Girls, Girls" off of Motley Crue's 1987 album, The Go-Go's biggest hit, "We Got The Beat," off of their debut album Beauty And The Beat, and Night Ranger's milestone power ballad "Sister Christian."

Another mostly MEH month :n:
