Whoever wins, it's not ending clean. Which is fantastic because if this initial match is as good as in my head, they can go again and again.

PUMPED for Sunday.

I want Cody Rhodes to go back to the dashing gimmick and hope he brings back Smoke & Mirrors. I enjoyed that match and can’t believe he took his mask off. It’s about time. It’s run its course. He needs to go back to being dashing.

Everything else was kind of crummy or meh. It’s like they wanted people to change the channel.

I am just the polar opposite. I want Cody to continue with his current gimmick and I loved most things on the show, bar the Divas match.

Cody Rhodes beating Randy Orton is huge. I like the idea of Rhodes' character evolving. Keep him the psychopathic dude he currently is, but give him progressive goals.

DaVe 09-13-2011 06:34 AM

Interesting to see what happens with Cody.

Mark Henry tonight made me realise I really want to see him win the title finally.

And the final segment was just great.

I was there live and was disappointed that only Kofi got pyro. Also, I think a lot of entrances weren't televised. I was sitting right by Del Rio's car so my stupid face would have been at the opening. I'm sure it pops up every now and then.

- Bret Hart got the biggest pop
- "We want Ryder" when the arena started filling up. Lots of chants during Ryder's match
- When Ryder was in the corner going for the classic 10 punch I started chanting "WOO! WOO! WOO!" Instead of counting 1-2-3, but no one else did. Dang. it'll catch on eventually.
- Mason Ryan vs Primo in a dark match. Mason got some pretty big cheers and the match was actually pretty good
- Del Rio got a full entrance before Raw went on the air then they drove the car back, placed the pyro, then quickly put the pyro back and drove his car back out.
- Truth and Miz worked the crowd during commercial and got a lot of heat, though I think people were booing out of respect. A lot of people seemed to like them.
- Mark Henry kicked a chair off the ramp and it stayed on the floor right by the edge of the stage. I thought they'd pick it up and move it right away.
- Punk hit Earthquake's finisher during the main event dark match. After the match he signed things for a long time.

I haven't seen it on tv yet. Seemed like a decent show. Punk hitting HHH with the mic was awesome.

Pretty sure though that HHH/Punk are going to end up reluctantly partnering on one team with a couple others involved as they face some sort of team involving Nash/Truth/Miz at Survivor Series.

im thinking the exact samething, something along the lines of miz and truth eventually lining themselves with nash

I was also at there in person and I was pleasantly suprised that Bret showed mind you I should have been tipped off by the fact that one of his shirts were for sale in the lobby. Anyways I thought it was a good shoe there seemed to be a very mixed crowd when it came to CM Punk I was suprised at how many peeps were booing him at least around my section. It was funny that Cody got almost absolutely no reaction when he came out but when he nailed the CrossRhodes on Orton I was a little shocked that he went over then the boos came out.

Londoner 09-13-2011 12:01 PM

fuck what a great raw. just watched it.:y:

VSG 09-13-2011 12:14 PM

Aye, just watched it myself. I can watch a Punk promo all day I think.

Great move by WWE giving Cody the win too.

Last night’s 9/12 WWE Monday Night RAW drew a 2.72 (2.7) cable rating, with 3,856,000 viewers. The first hour did a 2.72 (2.7) and the second did a 2.71 (2.7). The show had big competition with the return of “Monday Night Football” on ESPN. The Patriots/Dolphins game drew a 10.62 (10.6) cable rating, with 14,568,000 million viewers, while the Broncos/Raiders game drew 8.21 (8.2) cable rating with 11,109,000 viewers. The final rating will be released soon.

So.... Does this mean CM Punk is saving Wrestling? I don't think so, I think this shows that wrestling as a business is in trouble.

Anybody Thrilla 09-13-2011 11:38 PM

No. This happens every football season.

TheChairman 09-13-2011 11:43 PM

Well let's take a look at this chart......

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...rs_Ratings.JPG

This clearly shows that durng football season when wrestling was peaking, between both Raw and Nitro, they were hitting a combined 8. rating. Last night Raw hit below 3. This is obvious to me, and really should be to you as well.

TheChairman 09-13-2011 11:46 PM

In fact, last nights rating was the lowest since 1997.

Lock Jaw 09-14-2011 12:12 AM

I liked it when Del Rio said he had Illegal Canadians working on his ranch.

Cool King 09-14-2011 12:22 AM

I've never heard of Canadians illegally living and working in Mexico.

Anybody Thrilla 09-14-2011 12:26 AM

That's the beauty of it. I don't know why people dog Del Rio's mic skills. I think he's hilarious.

Reversing the stereotypes.

So to prove your point you whip out 10 year old information. Nice.

I don't really feel that attitude era numbers are relevant at this current time in wrestling history. I have a feeling that those numbers will not come back anytime soon, if ever. Especially when you bring DVR/TiVo into the mix. ABT has it pretty dead on. Wrestling dies down a bit at the beginning of every football season. It happens during the season as well but almost everybody wants to watch the first Monday Night Footbal game.

blake639raw 09-14-2011 11:32 PM

Something that should be considered also, is youtube, and similar sites. You can miss the live show if you have something else to do, and just watch it online later. Alot more people have online access than did in the 90's.

Anybody Thrilla 09-14-2011 11:36 PM

I DVR Raw now. Back in the day, I used to have to video tape them if I couldn't be home for them live.

Anybody Thrilla 09-14-2011 11:36 PM

I usually was home for it live though.

I don't think anybody hear is saying he is saving wrestling. He has played a big part of making the past few months of WWE interesting. I've not read any negative feedback about the CM Punk/HHH program until you posted gibberish about how the numbers are reflecting failure. You are entitled to your opinion, but you are abusing this discussion with information that pretty much everyone here don't give two shits about. Fuck the numbers! WWE has been consistant with their product and creating a buzz. The business is far away from being in trouble. Good day to you sir!
