3DS looking Cel-Shaded, Wii U version looking HOT.

MEGAAAAA MAAANNNNN IS IN
|
That was overall pretty shit. A remake, Pikmin 3, Mario 3D and W101 this year. That's it. DKC for some people too I guess.

Just finished watching the Nintendo Direct replay
:D Mega Man. Nintendo did a much better job of promoting the 3DS than what Sony did with the Vita last night. |
It's so bizzare, surely Sony should look at the 3DS and see that it sold like shit until Nintendo got some games out for it and not just ignore it. Walking Dead is fantastic, but not late-port system shifter fantastic.

I'd be willing to bet Sony really believes the sales for the Vita will spike once the PS4 arrives not because of Vita games but because of the whole Remote Play feature. Had the same thinking and attitude with the PSP.
Even when they had something nice to talk about the Vita (60% sales are digital), the actual reason behind it is really depressing (barely any games on retail shelves). |

The Nintendo games look great, but they definitely didnt go out on a limb for something new.
Been thinking more about the PS4 v. Xbone, and as much as the DRM sitution is damn ridiculous, I personally enjoy the Xbone exclusives over the PS4 ones (which basically now consists of Killzone and whatever Naughty Dog has down the pipe). The truth is, I haven't lent out, borrowed, or rented a game in years, so I believe Im the type that will be minimally effected by it. I do trade in from time to time for Amazon credit, but even that is scarce. I just feel like if i buy the One, i'm contributing to a trend that should not be fed at all...but a lot of people felt the same way regarding paying for online play. |
Reggie revealed which Nintendo games will be playable at select Best Buy E3 demo locations.

I'll get on those games and get anything I can for you guys. Anybody else going?

It appears Sony wasnt being 100% honest on the big stage (shocking, i know).

Sony was being completely honest; I believe you are misconstruing the words. Sony isn't enforcing any DRM on games, but is leaving third-parties to do so if they wish. It's the same as it is now. Microsoft is forcing the DRM themselves, and I'm sure publishers could add more DRM to their games on Xbox One if they so desired as well. I'm sure EA or some similar publisher has requested these features out of the gate for their own reasons, and Sony is leaving the option in for them.
|
It's the whole "Online passes are totally stupid and nobody but the publisher likes them, but we will still let you do them" answer. It's just the same as it is now on 360 and PS3.
|
Yeah they never said the Used Game policy/DRM was suddenly being removed as part of all those digs against Microsoft. Those people cheering and clapping yesterday probably didn't even realize its still there. To be fair, Microsoft also has it as an optional feature but its tied into a lot more restrictions than Sony's.
Same for the announcement of PS+ now being required for multiplayer on the PS4 since people only noticed it from a disclaimer/bulletpoints and not something Sony said last night. The whole conference was designed to get people as less pissed about the DRM side of things Sony is doing while keeping all the anger focused on Microsoft. |
Yeah, that's old news.
Can't really blame them, as you have to figure that having no DRM whatsoever, would affect third party support. |
They're doing a live Final Bosman on the Gametrailers stream later. Cannot fucking wait.
|
The PS3 already has some DRM on games, like a PSN Capcom fighting game that I don't quite recall.

Bayonetta 2 revealed to include two player co-op.

Now, if only they'd make the cards cheaper so I didn't have to swap out my games every four hours.... Quote:

I don't imagine any console this gen is going to let you play burned games. Can't comment on the specific one here, but it's not like consoles are exactly open systems. |

Yep I got back home in time. Fucking love Justin McElroy stories (his Sherlock Holmes stories from years past were so damn funny).

According to a few E3 interviews, EA is coming up with another "Online Pass"-type plan and would make use of the new options Microsoft and Sony is offering for their next gen consoles.
EA even hinted they had no clue Sony was still allowing some restrictions possible and are considering using those options for their new plan on the PS4. http://www.screwattack.com/news/ea-a...ing-better-one |
Of course it was still possible on PS4. They'll just be going after microtransaction whales. Far better source of income.

One of the best E3 talks I've ever seen them do. Amazing shit.

I wish they would have stayed longer

I have a lot of respect for both of those dudes, even if they both occasionally do things in the media that I'm not a huge fan of: Cliffy acts like a rock star, and probably is as close to one as you will see in the industry, but I'm happy to see he seems to have mellowed out some after his departure from Epic. And Blow is just fucking smart, but does a lot more complaining on Twitter than I really care to read. I do really respect what he's done for indies (I think Indie Fund is an awesome idea and I'm happy he helped make that work).

Probably due to missing out on a day for their E3 recap shows. Yesterday was around the same as well for the guests being there for the 1st hour or so.

I actually gained a lot of respect for Blow when he shared the couch with a XBL exec in 2011, and basically dismantled Microsoft for their practices on how hard it was to get his game on their system. I remember it ending up kind of ugly, but I liked that he was willing to stand up and speak eloquently about his issues, even if he became a bit overbearing in the process.
