It's not gonna happen. And they won't move to Santa Cruz or San Jose or any of the other places that have been talked about. Bud Selig does this to every team, most recently the Royals in like 95.
I heard that Portland really wants a team, and the Expo's will probably stay out East.
While watching the A's vs. White Sox on Saturday, I just started thinking about it. The Giants are pretty big in the Bay Area, easilly the dominant team there. I'm not sure the A's even fill that huge stadium in the playoffs, they obviously aren't generating enough money since in the past four years they have lost Jason Isringhausen, Johnny Damon, Jason Giambi, Miguel Tejada, Ramon Martinez to name a few. I doubt they will be getting their own stadium any time soon. Can somebody who lives in the area tell me if losing the A's and just having the Giants would really be devastating? As usual I don't really know anything about the situation in the area, but thats what it seems like from the far out perspective. |
I also have good ideas to fix the Central divisions and get rid of inter-league.
contract Milwaukee.
Keep interleague. |
Move KC to the NL and Milwaukee to the AL. It would really make a lot of sense because there is really no heat between other teams for us because the closest one is Chicago and thats 7-8 hour drive. When we played Milwaukee people actually traveled, and its two hours from White Sox. Kansas City and St. Louis is self explanitory.
No, I think we should just contract Milwaukee and shoot Bud Selig.
Milwaukee is up and coming now with a pretty nice stadium
Joe Mauer is easily one of the most talented rookies this year, him and Bobby Crosby, but nobody in Minnesota is willing to admit this yet, he is injury prone. He already missed a lot of the first half for some random injury and now his knee is injured again, he may have to go on the DL. I'm gonna be pissed if Mauer turns out to be one of those guys who can never play a full season.
Also, WTF at Mulholland only allowing 2 hits into the 5th? |
Twins place C Joe Mauer on the DL.
Crosby will be good
but the real future SS superstar can be found in San Diego. |
OMG is anyone else watching this Cubs Cards game? Tied 8-8 in the 9th, Pujols with his third homer of the night, 5-5, 2B, 1B, 3HR, Cards are now up 10-8. How freakin good is he?
LOL
The Cubs are choking this season just like they did last year in the NLCS. *brings out the goat* |
Thats the LaTroy Hawkins I know
LOL @ LaTroy Hawkins
KoOS, you are seriously a moron. The Cubs have been injury-plagued all year and are still only 2 games back of the Wild Card. Sosa, Alou, Ramirez, Grudzielanek, Wood, Prior, etc have all been injured. The Cardinals have faced no significant injuries. If being 2 games back of the Wild Card when you haven't been healthy constitutes as "choking" then I guess you're right. Keep replying to sports topics with "LOL" thogh, it makes you look smart.
Yes.
Hence the curse of the Billy Goat. |
Holy shit anyone watching Toronto and Oakland? Both teams #5 starters on the mound, Dave Bush throws 8 innings of scoreless 1-hit ball and Rich Harden throws 8 2/3 of scoreless 2-hit ball. Going into the 12th tied at 0.
And not to mention they have all of their offensive guys back now and they're still doing jack shit.
Oh and their bullpen is the shits. |
ESPN is reporting that the Yankees have offered the D'backs a package that includes Jorge Posada in exchange for Johnson. WTF are they nuts? If I were the Yanks I'd offer Giambi, he sucks and Tony Clark has played better with much less playing time.
Holy shit, Millar hit 3 homeruns.
Too bad the rest of the line-up couldn't back it. Rivera was fucking sick tonight. |
Quote:
Halladay on the mend again for the second time this year, they really need someone else to step up. Batista is doing ok, but he tends to throw a few bad pitches in a row, putting himself in a terrible fix. |
Boone is starting to heat up for the Mariners.
They look awful this year :-\ |
They are a joke
Harden can be so god dam good at times, He's a solid #3 on a lot of other teams IMO.
Yeah Harden has been much more consistent than Zito or Redman this year.
Yeah, I kind of expected Redman to pitch the way he has been pitching this year. It's hard when you walk on to a staff like the Oakland A's, who IMO, have the best 5 man rotation in the whole league. He probably put a lot of pressure on himself and who could blame him with the other guys he's pitching with. I think that's happening to Zito too. He's trying too hard. I think if Zito were on say the Royals or something, he would have way more wins right now.
Bench clearing fight between Sox and Yankees already.
A-Rod and Varitek are probably suspended.
Fuck, I missed it
Yeah, A-Rod and Varitek were ejected.
Tanyon Sturtze would have been killed by David Ortiz if he had gotten at him though. Pretty crazy. |
I wouldn't mess wtih Ortiz either, thank God Kapler had his hands full with Sturtze.
Yeah, even though Sturtze is like 6'6, David Ortiz is a beast. If he got more into that fight than he did he probably would have killed Sturtze.
Sturtze is out with a brusied pinky finger on his catching hand. :wtf:
Pat Hentgen retired :wtf:
I read that earlier. I saw his start against the Yankees the other day and he was pretty awful. I didn't think he'd be retiring though.
Ortiz threw Sturtze down with one arm
Also, ARod is a baby. If he would have said that to me I would have did the same thing Varitek did. |
Varitek was an idiot for shoving him and starting it off, he woulda made ARod look like more of a fool if he'd not risen to it and just let him cry like a baby til he got to 1st, Nevermind
huge series coming up with the Twins/CWS
I hope one of them sweeps the other one |
Another blown save for Rivera. He goes the whole season blowing one save, then messes up two tries in a row.
Braves are making it look easyyyyyy
