I'm kinda concerned about Jericho, we all know we havent seen the last of him on WWE, but will he make the next game?

TerranRich 04-15-2006 05:14 PM

No, he won't make it in. Damn, the Spirit Squad takes up 5 spots if they're in the game. The list I made had 31 RAW and 29 Smackdown superstars. Hmm.

Evil Vito 04-15-2006 07:36 PM

That's a good list, loopy. If they do go with 60 I just hope they don't blow so many spots on divas, especially since they can't be used in half the matches.

The more I think about it, the more I think the PS3/360 versions will have more features just to try and get people to go for those versions. Those extra features could be stuff like more people on screen, extra match types (8-Man, 10-Man matches etc.), more CAW spots or parts, and a bigger roster. Also who knows, maybe the 360 version will let you download your own roster updates.

As for legends, I think most of last years guys will return (Bret, Stone Cold, Rock, Foley, Hogan, and DiBiase are the locks IMO) and Eddie will be there as well I'm sure. Just don't go wasting spots on crap legends, unless one of them is Doink of course :D

DS 04-15-2006 07:54 PM

I would have to say that I wouldn't buy it for the PS3 or 360 if it didn't have extra features. The graphics are going to look better, but I don't know if that merits $10 extra.

Drakul 04-16-2006 02:36 AM

According to Yahoo the games out on 1st Oct 2006

http://www.videogames.yahoo.com/game...e=0&eid=451139

Evil Vito 04-16-2006 11:32 AM

It'll get pushed back to mid-November, guaranteed

Dark-Slicer Diago 04-16-2006 05:55 PM

I agree with Vito, I too can see it being pushed back to mid-November - early-December

Cool King 04-16-2006 06:08 PM

I'll kill myself if it's Jan 07.

Just John 04-16-2006 06:19 PM

Consider yourself lucky Im not getting it for the ps2, and Im getting a ps3 June 07...

Evil Vito 04-17-2006 01:06 AM

Didn't think about this before...but Angles dive leads me to bear the question: will huge balcony dives be featured in the ONS arena?

Cuzziebro 04-17-2006 01:27 AM

Yes, that would be awesome.

Kalyx triaD 04-17-2006 09:03 AM

Should the camera focus on you in a close up shot during online play? This would make online run-ins more surprising.

Imagine having the option to leave a space (like a friend-slot) open, so that someone could "Run-In" during a match with finisher ready. Many online games already feature join-in type features so don't tell me it can't be done.

I also would like my idea for commentating to be included. Two guys (or even three) can just watch a match while they chat about it in their headsets, broadcasting their 'commentary' to the players and other spectators. This is also present in many online games, although in this type of combination.

What say you guys?

Cuzziebro 04-17-2006 09:11 AM

I like the idea sounds cool and different. Don't know if THQ will think that far but you never know they may surprise me.

Evil Vito 04-17-2006 10:26 AM

That commentary idea would only be good if you had the option of blocking people or turning it off...because as is always the case, some fucking kids will just start talking o each other as if it was a private phone conversation

That can easily be settled in a lobby type setting. I wouldn't let some kid call my matches anyway.

Just John 04-17-2006 11:08 AM

Bastards. I bet there'll be little marks

"Go on Cena!"

Evil Vito 04-17-2006 01:19 PM

Playing SVR06's season, I truly hope they invest the extra space on the most important mode of the game (IMO): season mode.

HCTP was great because you had no roster limitations and could sort of choose the direction you wanted to go (to a limited extent). SVR06 provided realistic-looking storylines complete with VOs, but not only was there once again a limited degree of choice, but you were essentially forced into the same angles over and over because the VOs limited matters.

I truly hope that, on the PS3 or 360 at least, where there is a TON of room, they can create a sort of "happy medium" between HCTP and 06's seasons. Would it be remotely plausible to have every wrestler in the game record the exact same set of voice overs? (which would mean anybody can take on any role....you can switch the rosters around if you like and it wouldn't be fucked up because of the VOs). Sure, there'd be character-specific storylines, but there's no reason why I should have to be a face in every angle and feud with Triple H whenever I'm on Raw.....or if I'm Taker, I shouldn't be feuding over Torrie Wilson's contract

Just John 04-17-2006 01:49 PM

Yeah, I loved the faction storyline. Spraying milk all over vinces faction

Or if you didnt do that, you had a storyline that ends up with you running over the other guys car with a monter truck.

And tazz invited you to do UK tours which unlocked the rebellion arena.

Just John 04-18-2006 02:47 PM

!!!

Shit, forget all that he cant say anything otherwise he can get sued..

Evil Vito 04-21-2006 12:17 PM

Hmm, according to one guy, if the PS3/360 versions were used to their fullest potential, they could very easily fit pretty much the entire current roster in, 20,000 polygon models and all

That would be sick if it happened, but THQ probably wouldn't do it, they never use the games to their fullest capacity.

If we did get a massive roster with everyone in it, it would at leats make GM mode more interesting. More wrestlers and angles at your disposal...maybe even make it so that you can hold a Heat or Velocity before a show (and the winners of those matches will gain some popularity....not as much as if they were on the main show, but its something). Great way to slowly build up guys.

loopydate 04-21-2006 12:30 PM

That would be nice. That way, there'd be some motivation to actually sign people who aren't near-main-eventers. If you could actually build up people on the B shows without being penalized for booking someone who isn't HHH, that would be a good thing.

Evil Vito 04-21-2006 01:14 PM

Yeah, between having the whole roster in and being able to build people up on B shows, it's the only way I can give Vito his proper title run :shifty:

loopydate 04-21-2006 01:41 PM

I shouldn't laugh. I'd find some way to turn Matt Striker into a main eventer, probably.

Evil Vito 04-21-2006 01:59 PM

Yeah, I'd probably do like I do in SVR06, say "fuck winning" and bury HHH every week. With B-shows in, I can relegate him to Heat each week, letting guys like Conway and Striker take over.

One other request is that I hope the PS3 and 360 can have CAW name announcing systems like sports video games.....you just type the name in and hope it gets announced

it kills me that in SVR06 my Spirit Squad is announced as Kenneth, John, Mark, Nick, and Michael. Sure, only one is way off but still. Also, Ken Kennedy is announced as Kendall

At least give some better name selections....we all know that the Jeffery's and Jeffrey's of the world need to have their names spelled right even when it's only being announced....and we know how the Mikes, Matts, etc. of the world always prefer being called by their full names. And we know there are a ton of Nathans out there, so let's include Nathaniel as well!

loopydate 04-21-2006 02:20 PM

It wouldn't be that hard to include a pronunciation key system. There are only so many basic vocal sounds in the English language (about 40, if I recall my Linguistics class correctly), they could just record the ring announcers and commentators saying each of the sounds with varying emphasis.

Then, you input the name as you would regularly, but now you can use the pronunciation key to tell the announcers exactly how to say your CAW's name, including which syllables to emphasize so they don't - for example - introduce "the booGEYman."

Kalyx triaD 04-21-2006 03:27 PM

Improved Create A Stable, please.

Evil Vito 04-21-2006 03:57 PM

Not sure how much Create-A-Stable can be improved, tbh. If we can get more people on screen, we can see more run-ins. The only thing that should be improved there is more stable entrances. If we manage to get 8-Man and 10-Man matches in there, there need to be entrances for those too.

Random observation: if they WERE planning on using the whole roster and doing the superstar countdown at its normal pace (one a weekday until the very end...when it becomes 2 a day)...the countdown would start by late June :o

Kalyx triaD 04-21-2006 07:48 PM

The stable creation can upgraded in these ways:

-Logo creator; DoR did it well (I suppose that's a game-wide thing).
-A type of Stable Mode like CoH Super Group Mode that automatically adds team colors and/or stable theme music to members.
-Group names called out during intros.

Everything above I agree with. If it can make the game better then THQ should add it in. Also this thread is going pretty well considering not much has been realeased about the game.

Hell, on 06, I've got 3 Cruisers over the 85 mark.

-Individual logic, so the hoss doesn't act like the diva on the group entrance.

37.

And it wouldn't sound any worse than the rest of the voiceover system...

Who does?

Anyway, a 100-wrestler roster is not unfeasible, even with massive characters. The problem is the total laziness of programmers.

A completely revamped stable entrance editor altogether.

Yeah.

Though, the Rey/Cena/Angle models look so amazing that I wouldn't be shocked if they did full-body scans of the wrestlers.

If that's the case, the hell with laziness.....just line up the whole roster and get everyone scanned :shifty:

We'll see that about the time we see revamped hit detection.

:shifty:

Yeah, but that means we risk a Shannon Moore wrestler.

Maybe SvR 2008 will use the Euphoria physics engine.
