Nervous Ferret 09-11-2006 09:34 PM

nah the Jets always play the Pats close, even though the Pats have won the last 6 I think.

Plus the Pats looked pretty horrible, and Chad looked like Chad circa 2002

Crippla 09-11-2006 09:43 PM

Yeah, but it should be a good game either way.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-11-2006 10:20 PM

Just because other teams are retarded and trade away proven players for 2nd rounders doesn't mean the Patriots should. Everyone was calling the Patriots scumbags when they didn't take a 2nd rounder, but look what happened. Now they have a first round pick and won't be overpaying a wide out. Kinda sucks though since they really have no wideouts, Troy Brown is like 80 years (don't get me wrong still the man) but you can't except him to be a #1..which he is right now :-\

While the Patriots looked like shit, they looked a lot worse a few years ago when they lost 31-0 to the Bills first game of the season. So we'll see. Colvin is going to break Pennington's shoulder next week tho

cry about it faggot

If it was Palmer instead of Green you'd be singing a different tune so shut the fuck up.

weather vane 09-12-2006 01:05 AM

The Jets will get smoked by the Pats, use your heads.

D Mac 09-12-2006 02:03 AM

HAHAHA

At least the fucking Raiders are still shit. 27-0 and Aaron Brooks got benched for a 2nd year QB who had never taken a snap in the regular season before.

weather vane 09-12-2006 02:32 AM

well Oakland has the worst o line in the league fuck

Triple A 09-12-2006 03:16 AM

That game was so painful to watch.

I was so afraid he would go out there and have a stellar year.. Like 30 TD and 2 INTs on the year..

I'd be like :wtf:..

Guess I don't have to worry about that anymore..

RP 09-12-2006 11:35 AM

No Pennington will break Penningtons shoulder.

And i'm pretty sure Deion Branch has never caught more then 75- 78 balls and 5 touchdowns and 850 yards in a season. He's not worth a number one pick. Not even if its a 31st pick. He's so overhyped its unbelievable. The stats dont lie. Go look. He's pretty much capitalizing on his superbowl rings. And thats fine cause New England found the sucker. The sucker being Seattle.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-12-2006 12:46 PM

He was 2 yards away from 1000 last season - plus I am sure the Seahawks liked his 153 yard performance in the Denver game.

Still though, who decides who is worth a first round pick? To me, a draft pick is a risk where as picking up someone like Branch is not. Look at how many first round busts their have been. I realize a lot of NFL franchises don't think like this for whatever reason but I kinda disagree with their thinking, Bengals traded Corey Dillon for a 2nd round pick a few years ago. Completely retarded if you ask me, I'd take a 1,500 yard season in exchange for a 2nd round pick anyday.

Branch has had a pretty low TD total during his career, doesn't make much sense to me since in 2004 he only played 9 games and had 4 TDs, then in '05 he played 16 games and only had 1 more.

RP 09-12-2006 01:03 PM

Yah i'm sorry. 998 yards last season and 5 tds on 78 catches. All career highs.

Gonzo 09-12-2006 05:48 PM

If I were a GM, I'd say 2nd round tops.

BCWWF 09-12-2006 06:30 PM

I was one of the people who voted in ESPN.com's poll yesterday saying that the Patriots got the better deal. Most people voted that they both did, but taking on a player who wants to be making more money than he is worth, especially one who is not a game changer a la Moss, TO, Johnson, etc., is not something I would have wanted to do. The only thing, the Seahawks will probably have a pretty low draft pick, but even so. The Pats should be back in a year or two.

Crippla 09-12-2006 06:32 PM

Patriots got what was worth of Deion Branch.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-12-2006 06:45 PM

Patriots have no wide recievers right now though, so while they might have gotten 1st round pick for Branch that 1st rounder isn't gonna do shit for them this season. Hopefully Chad Jackson can get on the field at somepoint, but its starting to look like he has University of Florida WR diease (aka not doing shit in the NFL)

They do have some real nice tight ends, but that only take you so far. Watson, Graham and the rookie David Thomas are pretty formitable trio of TEs plus they have H-Back/TE Garrett Miles so could develop as well

Crippla 09-12-2006 06:47 PM

Well it's still too early in the season to tell so we'll see. Maybe Reche Caldwell can step up and become a number 1 receiver, it doesn't look that way but you never know with the Pats.

Gonzo 09-12-2006 10:23 PM

The thing about the Pats though, they might not even need a #1 receiver as long as they believe they have their system guy. So we'll just have to see.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-12-2006 10:39 PM

I really don't see how the Seahawks are getting screwed in this deal though, i mean yeah the 1st rounder is tought to trade but who knows who the pick coulda been. Check out the Seahawks top 4 wide reciever now though, who the fuck is gonna be able to cover that?

That is misleading, because it implies that the Patriots did have a reciever before the trade. Branch was a holdout, he wasn't going to play this year because the Pats weren't going to do that. You can essentially say that they got a first round draft pick for nothing, because that is what Branch was essentially.

I don't think the Seahawks got screwed, Branch can be a good reciever and is the type of guy that can really help them, but because Branch wasn't going to play this season anyway, I think the Pats got a hell of a deal for him.

SammyG 09-14-2006 02:32 AM

The Rams game in S.F should be entertaining to watch.

OssMan 09-17-2006 11:49 AM

go @@@n cowboys Carlos Rogers best shutdown corner in the entire NFL.

RoXer 09-17-2006 01:43 PM

COME ON ANDREW WALTER

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-17-2006 01:46 PM

Wow I fucking hate when football teams share a stadium with a baseball team, it looks so retarded to see a baseball field in the middle of the football field.

Joey Slugs 09-17-2006 02:51 PM

The next time Roy Williams wants to guarantee a win... he needs to use smaller words. There's alot to swallow so far today.

weather vane 09-17-2006 03:16 PM

I am pretty embarrassed right now.

RP 09-17-2006 03:42 PM

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-17-2006 04:42 PM

Mr. Monday Morning 09-17-2006 04:55 PM
