I also read that the Niners could try to trade with the Saints for Payton.
|
Adam Gase is about to be a busy man. Already has interviews booked with the Eagles, Dolphins, and Browns.
|
Apparently there is a rumor floating around that the Lions are about to have an interviw with Chip Kelly
|
Heard rumors on the news that Nick Sabin might want to give it another go.

Not much to predict on Black Monday since a lot of firings happened yesterday.

No idea what the Giants will do in the draft. They need help basically everywhere.
They may even have to go Offensive Tackle for the 3rd time in 4 years. Feels like its harsh to slap the bust tag on Ereck Flowers already. He was put in a tough spot, was supposed to play right tackle and instead he got moved to left tackle with zero professional experience. But he still graded out as the worst tackle in football by a wide margin according to Pro Football Focus. And recent league history suggests that tackles rarely improve. You either are good right out of college or you suck and get moved to guard soon thereafter. |
Glad the Cowboys are not in the middle of the draft this year but hate what it took to get a top 5 pick. Don't know who they take at 4. Don't see a QB good enough to take that early. Really should draft a RB but I'm not sure the 4th pick would be a great spot to reach on a RB. Always find a group of players if like to see Dallas pick and they never pick any but I'd like to see them get one of the top backs either Elliot, Henry, or the Arkansas RB. Pharroh Cooper the WR out our South Carolina is another guy I'd like to see them take but probably won't. Defensively it's a homer pick for me but Josh Harvy Clemons out of Louisville is a DBiI'd like to see them grab as well.

Tom Coughlin is resigning/retiring. London isn't that bad, even if the game isn't @ Wembley :(
|
I will miss watching Coughlin lose his shit on the sideline. But it's time.
|
According to ESPN, seems like the 49ers are interested the most in Sean Payton if he leaves but right now are looking at Chip Kelly who wants to coach there.
|
Frank Reich, possibly the greatest backup QB in NFL history, takes the fall in San Diego. Fired as offensive coordinator.
They were 4th in the league in passing this year. Run game sucked but they had a million injuries on the O-line. Feels like they just needed a scapegoat. |

Chuck Pagano is coming back next season. Not really his fault Luck got hurt. It's his fault Luck has been exposed when he has played though. Everybody has Lucks number and Pagano will probably not survive 2016.

Chargers, Raiders, and Rams all filed the official paperwork for relocation. Owners vote on who gets to move or not won't happen till between January 12th and 13th.
According to CBS Sports, none of the proposals have enough votes to win on their own although the Chargers/Raiders option seems to be the favorite. Also being teased that if Chargers split from the Raiders, they are likely the team to move since owners prefer them out of the three to move first. Rams owner seems to have lost support recently with the owners and might try to get Chargers/Raiders move blocked if he doesn't get his way. |
In the event the Chargers and Raiders both move, one of them will have to go to the NFC West with a team moving to the AFC West.
Seahawks are assumed to be the team that would go to the AFC West since they're a former AFC team and their rivalry with the Niners has already fizzled. But it'd be kinda weird to take a team that's been a perennial Super Bowl contender and move them to the other conference. Cardinals are really good too so moving them seems unfair. And the Niners have too much NFC lineage. Would be awkward as all hell for the Rams though if they lose their relocation bid AND have to change divisions. |
That Manziel story sounds too fantastic. I hope they don't run him out of the league, we need a ridiculous character like him to stick around.
|
Seems like the Eagles are down to between Sean Payton and Adam Gase as their next coach. They are interested in trading for Payton if the price is right but at the same time are pretty far along in negotiations with Gase. The longer it takes for the Saints to make a decision, the more likely its Gase to the Eagles.
Giants, Dolphins, and 49ers are also interested in Payton while the Colts were before dropping out very quickly because Saints want at least a 1st Round pick for a trade. |
Moving Seattle to the AFC west would be dumb as shit. Chiefs, Seahawks and Broncos all in one division. Good grief.
|
The Adam Gase offense didn't do much in Chicago. Think you're gonna need a QB of the Manning or Brady caliber if that's what he's gonna implement if you hire him.
Unless they bring in an O.C. and they do their own thing, then whatever. |
As far as the teams relocating go, Rams is the logical choice. They're isolated from all the other teams in their conference and they were in L.A. originally.
Oakland would be my second choice. No real reason for San Diego to move. |
Rams do seem the most logical. Raiders are one of the few NFL franchises that have an identity of sorts, would be poop to see them move back to LA
|
O.co Stadium is falling apart. A's were looking for a way out, but ended up signing a 10-year lease to stay last season.

|
I just don't see Calvin Johnson walking away.
Unless he's fed up with Detroit? Any news about him being disgruntled or looking for a change of scenery? |
Not even a little bit
|
It will be very cold in Minneapolis on Sunday, and more than likely Teddy Two Gloves will throw for four interceptions in a Vikings rout.
|
Lovie Smith fired...wow.
|
Tampa Bay never gave him a chance.

Broncos announced Peyton will be their starter for the playoffs.
Steelers DeAngelo Williams currently a toss up for the Bengals game since he missed another practice this week because of an injury. |
Lions hired Pats scouting director Bob Quinn as their new GM.
|
Dolphins hired Adam Gase to be their new coach.
Eagles currently looking at Tom Coughlin as a possible choice for their coaching job. |
Yo Chuck, it's your cousin Aaron
You know, Aaron Berry |
Just found out this Hoyer guy had two concussions this year. Rooting for KC so the poor guy doesn't have to play anymore. Jesus

Two fifteen yard penalties one on a dead ball.

Too bad your ass got sacked

A lot of people are calling that DeSean Jackson play "bonehead," it doesn't seem that bad to me. Especially with his record of giving away easy TDs at the goal line
|
Jared Porter.

I have missed/slept through the most crucial parts of every playoff game so far I think. Missed the beginning of this one but hope to stick the whole thing out

Rex brings in Rob to be an assistant head coach for defense. |
I mean this is an obvious special case but it's hilarious how bad Rob Ryan's defenses have been and he keeps getting jobs

Im annoyed people had to bring up Billy Cundiff to say Walsh's miss was shorter than Billy Cundiffs miss vs the Patriots..ugh

According to ESPN, the LA relocation voting is rumored to include a third option which is Rams and Raiders being paired together. Rams proposed the option but still waiting on the Raiders if they want to bail out on the Chargers or not to be made official.
Owners currently meeting to vote on if LA will get a team and who it will be. |
Hope its the Rams and Chargers moving to LA but really wouldnt care if all 3 went. Hate that Oakland cant get a new stadium built for the Raiders and them playing on a baseball diamond is ridiculous.
|
Rams to LA is official. Chargers have the option of joining them. Raiders will explore opportunities in San Antonio and could possibly even go to San Diego themselves if the Chargers bolt.
|
NFL Network (and about a million guys on Twitter) reporting the Raiders backed out and it's the Rams with "an option" for the Chargers to join them
|
|
La Canfora saying the NFL have promised the Raiders a certain amount of money towards a new stadium to stay in Oakland once the relocation/vote is finalized
|
Spanos promises to give San Diego a "fair chance" to agree to a stadium deal before they officially decide to go to LA, but he's often times been full of shit. After all of these years I can see why Archie didn't want Eli to go there.
|
Also I'll feel really gutted for San Diego if/when the Chargers move becomes official. St. Louis is clearly a baseball city and the Cardinals are good every year. San Diego will be left with nothing but the lousy Padres.
|
I don't know if the Davis family is really stupid or really smart. Either get out of the dump, or go build your own. It's that simple.
Just how much money is the NFL gonna give Oakland if they decide to stay? Football stadiums ain't cheap these days with costs crossing into the billions with Metlife Stadium and AT&T Stadium. |
Makes the most since. Rams in LA just sounds right. I would hate to see the Raiders in San Antonio but if thats what it takes to get them a new stadium then so be it. Color scheme would at least match the Spurs though.
|
Good for the Rams for getting a hell of a lot closer to their division rivals. Bad for St. Louis losing a team. Blues & Cardinals ain't going away anytime soon.
|
Rams really made St. Louis look bad. I dont even know if an expansion franchise would even consider them for a team if the league were to expand.
|
You're forgetting The Greatest Show on Turf. Those were good years.
|
Yeah but the Rams really shit on the city pf St. Louis in the relocation proposal. Said St. Louis cant support 3 major sports and wouldnt advises any teams to relocte there in the future.
|
The Chargers are in a tough spot now. They aren't going to love the terms of a potential move to LA, Rams would stand to get the concessions money and a cut of ticket sales since the stadium would be owned by Kroenke.
At the same time, they totally threw their fans under the bus and it's tough to see the taxpayers voting for a new stadium. |
Quote:
why is that even an option (Raiders going to San Diego) seems absurd, if the city can't even manage to keep the Chargers why the hell would a) the Raiders want to b) be able to move there |
San Diego don't want to lose their team and the NFL really doesn't want to lose that market. The problem is Spanos is a bit of an asshole and the city is pissed off at the Chargers from throwing them under the bus. Enough so that if the Chargers leave they might be enticed to actually give money to the Raiders to keep a team in the area.
Most likely though San Diego would just be used as a bargaining chip by the Raiders to try to get Oakland to fork over money. |
Also worth noting that the Chargers and Raiders both will be given money by the NFL to try and work out stadium deals with their current cities. The Chargers were given more than the Raiders, which suggests that the league doesn't actually want the Chargers to relocate if they can avoid it.
Fail to see how 2 LA teams isn't going to bomb spectacularly. |
Oakland also have the option of moving to LA in January 2017 if the Chargers decide to stay put. Chargers have until March to decide if they want to move for the 2016 season.
|
kind of hope that all 3 teams just get fucked and fuck off
"trying to work out a deal with the city" so the billionaire owners can have the city pay for their toys dickholes |
Apparently Stan Kronke will be financing this new LA stadium. Dude just wanted the hell out of St. Louis it sounds.
|

I really can't imagine how depressing it would be to have your team move away. It's sometimes hard for me to empathize since none of my teams are a threat to move (I don't count the Islanders going to Brooklyn, if anything that just assures they'll still be relatively "local" to me for the long haul) but shit...I can't imagine pumping hours into watching a team and going to a ton of games only for them to just peace out. |
Quote:
Chargers being way too committed to the Chargers-Raiders plan to budge and Raiders giving several hints they'd be willing to back out probably made the NFL think Chargers were more likely to stay between the two. The Chargers getting $100 million seems like the NFL knows it would be enough to sway them to stay since the Raiders are going to bolt the second they get the opportunity now. St Louis as a possible choice for the Raiders got thrown under the bus when the Rams owner trashed the city in his relocation letter. |
The Raiders might do well to wait this out a little bit longer. Oakland is no longer the hell hole that it used to be and there is money all over the place there. As Oakland slowly gets gentrified into San Francisco 2, opportunities for a new stadium are going to present themselves eventually. Oakland is fated to become just a town of investors and millionaires. Between the money given for stadium upgrades by the NFL and private investors, something can probably happen
|
And if the Chargers have to stay in San Diego next year, that is going to be fucking bananas to watch. The fans already checked out at the beginning of this season. They totally feel betrayed by that organization. I'm sure if the Chargers end up staying, management will try to spin it like they never actually wanted to leave or something. It's all a clusterfuck.
|
Hue Jackson agrees to necome the Browns head coach.

Poor Hue
|
Found it odd Lawrence Phillips died in jail like 2 hours after they announced the Rams were moving. He was drafted by the Rams in 96, the 2nd year they were in St Louis.

Its pretty interesting because theres a Johnny Unitas statue out front of M&T and a couple of Baltimore Colts players in the Ravens Ring of Honor and the Ravens kept the Colts Marching Band which never disbanded when the Colts moved. |

Chargers bring in Ken Whisenhunt to be the new Offensive Coordinator.
Whether this fixes things in San Diego is another question. |
The St. Louis Raiders or San Diego Raiders is a terrible idea.
Raiders need to stay in Oakland. I don't really care about any other teams moving. |
Yeah would like to see the Raiders get a new stadium in Oakland. Dont think LA really needs 2 teams. San Antonio seems like the best spot if the do make a move.
