Wow that guy is a total douchebag. How can anyone trust his word. He promised kids in LSU that he wouldnt be leaving and then signed with the Dolphins the next day. He says he wont be leaving the Dolphins unless he's fired or theirs a family issue, and he leaves. I dont care what money he's getting offered. The guy gave his word twice and broke it. What a lying scumbag. I cant believe this guy can look his children in the eye after all the fucking lies he's told. I cant believe any high school kid would wanna play for this douchebag. He's a liar.

RP 01-03-2007 01:39 PM

Is it the homer in me that is a bit suprised Joseph Addai got not one single vote for rookie of the year? He shared carries with Rhodes. He got 1000 yards and 300 recieving, 8tds and he averaged 4.8 a carry. He was also filling some huge shoes.

I agree with Vince Young as ROTY. He's a beast and really played amazing to get the Titans where they were. I guess its hard to get one vote in such a loaded draft. Bush, Colston and Drew got votes. All deserved. I guess i was just a bit suprised Addai didnt even get one vote. Anyone else?

OssMan 01-03-2007 03:41 PM

im surprised mathias kiwanuka didnt get any votes, dont think he should have won it but i think he was a better candidate than jonathan joseph who had...45 tackles, 0 sack, 0 int. kiwanuka had like 4 sacks and 2 INTs.

Mr. Monday Morning 01-03-2007 03:47 PM

If you're gonna give Addai some votes you have to give some to Maroney too.

Kiwanuka probably got hurt somewhat by that non-sack of Vince Young.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-03-2007 05:37 PM

Jonathan Joseph had a great rookie season. You can't judge a cornerback solely on stats. And even if you could he had 20 passes defensed which was 6th in the league.

OssMan 01-03-2007 05:44 PM

right i know you cant judge a cornerback on stats but i guess the guy who voted for him was a Bengals fan or something, the only way to vote for a guy whose stats dont stand out at all would be to watch him in every game.

Marques Colston was robbed..

You can certainly make a case for Colston but I think in the position that Young was in he deserves it more. Lets face it, the Titans weren't expected to do anything at the beginning of the season and Vince Young nearly single handedly turned that around. Nobody was really expecting the Saints to turn out the way they did but they did anyway. Even though Colston was a part of that he didn't have as integral a role as Young.

Anyways, this whole Giants playoff thing is bittersweet. I obviously would like to seem them win (although I just don't see it happening) but if they do I doubt many changes are made in the front office after the season. I think that even if we don't get a new head coach that we need to get new offensive and defensive coordinators, or else we are doomed for another season of mediocrity.

Kris P Lettus 01-03-2007 07:14 PM

Hey, didn't we have an avatar bet on the Christmas Eve game??

Gonzo 01-03-2007 07:33 PM

Yeah but you never mentioned anything and I'm really not inclined to go find an avatar myself. I don't care about ponying up, but you're going to have to pick one out, resized to the tee if you wanna go through with it. :D

Kris P Lettus 01-03-2007 07:35 PM

JUST USE MINE

I bet with you, DrA, LoDownM and Shisen and no one has "man up'ed" yet..

Yeah, ditto. I'm in agreeance with Young as ROTY, but Addai pretty much got crapped on, IMO. I thought he was a pretty good candidate for it, considering the lost the Colts suffered from Edgerrin James. :-\

UmbrellaCorporation 01-03-2007 09:12 PM

As it stands now, I'm calling the playoffs this way kinda.

AFC (in my opinion) will be either Colts/Ravens or Ravens/Chargers or Ravens/Colts. I honestly can't decide. Rather see Ravens/Colts than anything though. I like LT just fine, but I'm sick of hearing about him, even if he IS a damn good player. It may be the Seattle fan in me, but I'd rather have Alexander any day. What reason? None really, but I just like Alexander better.

NFC (opinion again) will be Bears/Saints or Giants/Saints. Again, no real reason, but I wouldn't mind seeing Tiki go out on top with a SB ring. But if we're talking potential, I'm REALLY rooting for Saints/Giants with NO winning it.

So I'm calling the SB right now to be Ravens/Saints or Colts/Saints. That'd make me a very happy fan, personally.

I agree with you on that. As I was listening to the news about it. He was supposed to meet with Mr. Blockbuster before or at 10 a.m. to make his decision and have a meeting with the team. Instead, he blows off Huizenga(sp?), and gathers all his coordinators and coaches in one room and breaks the news to them by speakerphone.

Kind of a low class way to go out.:nono:

Maroneys stats dont even compair to Addai's . He's got 745 yards. 100 recieving and 7 total td's. I understand he was injured, but that really doesnt matter.

Well, to be fair, Corey Dillon is a monster, and Dominic Rhodes wouldn't even make the team in, say, New Orleans.

From what I saw of the Bengals this year, especially in the latter parts of the season, Jonathon Joseph made some key coverage plays in vital situations. He was one of the more impressive rookies this year in my opinion.

DrA 01-04-2007 06:43 AM

Also, I would just like to point out again that Houston not getting Vince Young or Reggie Bush with the first pick is a general managing fuck up so bad that Matt Millen wouldn't have even done it.

DrA 01-04-2007 06:44 AM

Nah, he would have drafted Chad Jackson.

He was also averaging over 30 per kick return at one point (don't know if he finished the year like that)

Corey Dillon couldnt run 50 yards without stopping for oxygen. You're crazy. I mean he's better then Rhodes, but still

And Addai didnt return kicks, so theirs not much to compare there. 30 yards is nice, but not ROTY material.

Nah it really wasnt. I think Charlie Casserly picked him and he was due to be fired reguardless. They kept him to make the pick. It was the owners call basically. And i'm pretty sure they didnt want to pay Reggie Bush alot of money and thats why they didnt take him. I'm not sure how the numbers broke down, but it was presumed that he'd be asking for a truck load.

DrA 01-04-2007 05:38 PM

That doesn't matter, that franchise needed a franchise player for them to make money, and Reggie Bush/Vince Young would have done that. Having a defensive end, not to mention an underachieving defensive end, will not help that team at all. I've even known a stockbroker who was going to invest in the team change his mind after they made that pick.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-04-2007 06:34 PM

Did they really think they where going to have to pay Reggie Bush that much more then they paid Williams though? I dunno, even if this guy became a pass rushing monster is that really worthy of a first round pick? In some cases, its good to pick a player who needs time to develop (See Ty Warren) but the Texans really aren't in that situation.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-04-2007 06:35 PM

Oh yeah, I bet the Lions draft Calvin Johnson out of Georgia Tech

Team Sheep 01-04-2007 07:51 PM

I'm making a bold prediction right now and saying the Philadelphia Eagles win the Superbowl.

I'm not saying i agree with the pick. I dont. And the reason they gave ( To stop Peyton Manning ) is laughable. But i really dont know what other reason they would have for passing over Bush or Vince Young, both seemed like a no brainer pick. The only think i can think of is that it was a money issue. The dude they got, Mario Williams ( that his last name? ) came out of no where. I hadnt heard of him. And apparently he was very streaky in college. I guess he had some games where he slumped. Which is even more absurd, cause 5 sacks in one game still equals 1 game , win or loss. Disapearing for a number of games and then having a monster game, just doesnt cut it. Like i said, i dont know what the reason was for sure, but i know it was BS. Dominick Davis is an average running back, of the caliber of a Chester Taylor or Willis McGahee ( Yah thats right ). He's nothing special.

Vince Young seemed even more like a no brainer. He's from Texas. He's automatically a popular pick and you knew he would be amazing.

You're making an ass of yourself. Thats what you're making.

Nervous Ferret 01-04-2007 10:00 PM

Worried about Maroney. I think he could be torture for the Jets.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-04-2007 11:52 PM

Well, they probably didn't want to draft Young since they just locked up David Carr and their coach is "fan of his"

I really don't get why they didn't draft Bush, I mean, even before Davis got hurt it still would have worked. It would have worked perfectly probably, since Bush will probably never carry the ball 30 times a game consistantly - if ever.

AlphaBean 01-05-2007 12:15 AM

lol Kubiak loves a challenge. He should pick up Harrington in the offseason, or give Ryan Leaf a call.

And if you dont draft Bush or Young there... Why not just make the safe pick and pick D'Brick? Mario Williams really didnt prove nothing accept that he looks like a beast.

Also. I GOT A COLTS CHIEFS PLAYOFF TICKET!!!!!

RP 01-05-2007 09:47 AM

I'm gunna fuck a Chiefs fan up like Bob Sanders.

Dunno they've been awesome lately. And with everyone saying how terrible the NFC has been this year, I fancy an NFC team to come out and steal it.

Of course, I would hate for this to happen.

GO JETS!! Patriots gunna get fucked.

RP 01-06-2007 04:57 AM

Dont you remember they have Jeff Garcia as there QB?
