Do you believe no one on Tha Pats has a criminal history or a story like this? I guess you may actually believe that seeing how dense you are.
|
ESPN employees have been told to not comment on the Peyton story at all, and there is nothing about it listed on their website. Go figure.
|
A few teams are currently rumored to be interested in Denver's Brock <s>Lesnar</s> Osweiler while Denver is rumored to be hoping Peyton declines coming back next season. Denver is also rumored to be a bit worried on how expensive it might become to keep Osweiler if a bidding war starts.

Jesus...finally finished reading the official court documents.
It's bad. Not really much more to say. If you assume this is a case of "he just did something dumb in college" then I challenge you to read the whole thing and see if you come to that same conclusion. I could maybe buy that he just made a really stupid mistake had he fessed up to it right away. But the lengths he, his dad, and the school seemed to go to to try and make sure this never saw the light of day is pretty damn disturbing. |
And fuck USA Today and whoever had these documents for 20 years but never felt the need to release them. They almost certainly just felt Peyton was too popular to take down while he was still playing.

It isnt. He did something stupid and then tried to cover it up. Seriously, he djd one stupid thing when he was in college. I guess you were a saint for your entire life.
|
Meijers just trolled me. Seen what looked like to be Colts t shirts in the clearance bin for 3 dollars. Picked two out that I liked and then realized they were Lions t shirts.
|
oh good, NFL offseason is upon us so this thread is going to be utter trash for a few months
|

Might not have enough to keep BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROCK OS-WEILER if that's the case. |

Can you link me to some of this heinous stuff @vito cruz
I'll read them and share my thoughts |

I dunno
pretty boring, nice@ when she was giving him a physical and then he put his dick and balls on her face |
The Saxon affidavit and letter were probably the most telling things to me. Peyton really could have just apologized for the whole thing straight away and got a slap on the wrist (as is the case with important college athletes) and that would have been the end of it. Don't really see why he would go out of his way to try to bury this woman's reputation even years after everything was settled.
|
Quote:
|
Yeah, I'm sure Peyton had nothing to do with it whatsoever. Especially not when he decided to criticize her in his own book years after everything had been completed and a settlement reached.

Colts and Packers announced for the Hall of Fame Game. Whoopdee fuck.
Rodgers has already sarcastically said he's stoked for it. He had to have known Green Bay would be playing with Favre headlining the HOF class though. They nearly always try to involve the teams that figure will draw the most fans to the HOF ceremony based on who's going in. |
Cant wait for the Ravens in The HOF game in 2018
|
Couple of recent NFL news:
* Kurt Cousins recently broke off talks with the Redskins in regards to a contract extension. Seems that neither side is close to agreeing to an amount and the Redskins are worried about having to use the franchise tag ($20 million) just to keep him off the market. * Pats Jerod Mayo recently announced his retirement with part of the reason due to his injury prone body and the other part due to him probably getting released because of cap reasons ($11.4 million plus the $4 million roster bonus owed). * Based on tax filing rules, Roger Goodell made around $34 million in 2014 as commish of the NFL. Due to the NFL dropping their tax exempt status last year, they are no longer required to publicly revealed how much money their commish makes every year and won't for what Goodell made last season. In terms of CBA stuff, Goodell has made around $142 million since the last CBA deal done in 2011. |

Also in love with the three times I turned ESPN on reporters are saying they should be cover in the Manning story and he should not get a pass from the media. No shit ESPN. Maybe you should have been on the story the entire time if you feel so deeply about it.

I doubt Coughlin's eventual induction someday will be enough to get me to go. Maybe in like 10 years when Eli goes in and gives the most hilariously awkward HOF speech of all time. |
Jared Allen announces his retirement after 12 seasons.
|
One of the few Panthers I respected. He was also a Viking, but a very respectable Viking. He was like Rob Riggle's athletic doppelganger
|
Rams are going into rebuild mode as they head into LA. They've cut Chris Long, James Laurinaitis, and Jared Cook. Frees up $24 million in cap space.
Steelers TE Heath Miller has retired. |
Wouldn't be mad at the Giants taking a look at Laurinaitis
|
Damn. I wouldn't mind Lil' Animal being a Bronco. He'd fit right in, spiked pads and all.
|
That's the kind of player the Pats usually sign. Veteran who got cut getting another chance to prove himself to be the man to get a huge deal the next year with another team.
|
Colin Kaepernick staying with the 49ers at least for one more season after the team picked up his option for 2016.

When is Josh Gordon eligible to be reinstated
|
Ravens are going to kick the tires on Trent Richardson. My guess is they're no good but who knows
|
Couple of NFL news stuff:
Johnny Manziel currently looking at a court trial in the near future in regards to his domestic violence charges since the Dallas police have requested for a grand jury to hear his case. Day after the 49ers decided to pick up his option for next season, Colin Kaepernick is asking for a trade out of San Francisco. Been rumored the team was going to trade him away regardless of the announcement since that was a big reason why his option was picked up. |
 The Niners are the gift that keeps on giving

Yeah, it's still not a great plan. |
I dont really blame Kap for wanting to leave. He's been treated like garbage and blamed entirely for a failing offensive system that was only partly his fault.
|

What was already expected is now going to become official. Peyton Manning will announce his retirement this week.
|
Tom Brady agrees to a 2-year extension through his age 42 season.
Congratulations Patriots, 2016-19 AFC East champions. |
NFL considering getting rid of the chop block entirely for next season. Currently it is only allowed by offensive linemen during rushing plays if they are in a specific position.

Saints release Marques Colston.
Not a bad pickup for someone looking for a good WR. |
C'mon Von. Sign a long term deal so we can tag BRRRRRRRRRRRROCK and atleast have a backup plan for QB next season.
|
So much for that.
Broncos slap the Exclusive franchise tag on Von Miller. |
Kurt Cousins got paid big time after getting tagged by the Redskins. Went from making around $660k last season to now $19 million for next season.
|
According to reports, Peyton Manning hinting he doesn't want to retire and there might be some bad blood between him and the Broncos over the issue.
Him returning a lot quicker than expected from the recent foot injury and then playing really well completely changed all plans he and the Broncos had for the future. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...schefter-says/ |
Hmm he didn't play that well.
|
Broncos might get stuck with him if Brock gets pulled away. Should drastically decline his pay though.
|
Bradford staying with the Eagles: 2/$36 million with $26 million guaranteed.

Although Elway should be doing everything he can to keep Brock around. |

Browns center Alex Mack opted out of his deal and becomes a free agent.
Falcons release Roddy White. |
Wonder what company will get naming rights to Mile High Stadium or uf theyll just call it Mile High Stadium.
|
Papa Johns?
|
Mutual of OMAHA!
|
|
they restructured his deal to lower the cap hit.... a fairly common move that teams make all the time
the guaranteed money is ridiculous though yea |
So much guaranteed money, but it's good they have some wiggle room to re-sign guys (Osemele) and maybe go after a decent free agent.

Deflategate back in the news with this time the Appeals court revealed to be pro-NFL and went hard after the NFLPA and Brady in hearings. Ignored most if not all the issues that plagued the NFL in the original case and deferred a lot to the Wells Report when it came to evidence.
Also considering the NFL's request for the whole process to be sped up in order to not be a distraction for next season and Brady to be punished. Right now its predicted to be a 2-1 vote in favor of the NFL's side. http://deadspin.com/huh-the-nfl-migh...ady-1762710604 As a side story, ESPN finally got around to clarifying their reports about the balls being under-inflated during the Colts-Pats AFC title game. Basically admitted they knew very quickly the numbers published were wrong but did nothing to correct them until today. http://nesn.com/2016/03/espn-finally...-of-12-report/ |
Texans release Arian Foster.
|
Not sure why the Ravens released Daryl Smith just save about 3 million
|
Wake me up when the Dolphins stop making retard moves and drafting bums.
|
Broncos reportedly offered BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROCK OS-WEILER 3-year, $45 mil.
Which makes me wonder if that's a signal to Peyton to make a decision....................now. |
News conference on Monday to announce Peyton Manning's retirement.
Per sources. :'( |
So ESPN waited days to discuss Peyton's sexual assault cover-up allegations, but dedicated an entire SportsCenter to him hours after news of his upcoming retirement broke. Of course they did.
|
It's ESPN.
We're pro-Red Sox, Patriots, and everything else. But, we're gonna wait a few days for all the bad stuff. Did they get on the "Knife found at O.J's house" bandwagon. Or has there been no mention of that? |
Shit or get off the pot time for Victor Cruz, Giants said they're going to release him unless he takes a paycut
|
RGIII released
saves the 'skins over $16M on the cap. Expected to have interest from a ton of teams for him |
MORE IMPORTANTLY, JOSH FREEMAN ALSO RELEASED
this QB market is HEATING UP |
Congrats, Redskins fans. Kirk Cousins is your guy.
|
JAAAAASH TWINKLETOES PUDDING POP FREEMAN is on the market
#SimmonsPost |
48 hours away from NFL free agency. Aka most of the best free agents will be off the market within hours of the free agency period opening.
|
Philly's in house cleaning mode.
DeMarco Murray got traded to the Titans. Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell go to Miami. |
Poor Murray. They did not have to do that to him.
|
It was so bizarre that they even signed him to that stupid ridiculous contract in the first place
|
Chip Kelly was a really horrible GM for them.
|
Smart of them not to trade him back to Dallas at least.
|
I don't think they'd be able to trade him back to Dallas anyway. Surprised they even found any team to take that contract off their hands.
|
Calvin Johnson officially retires.
|
Malik Jackson expected to a sign a 6 year, $90 million deal with the Jags.
Jason Pierre-Paul expected to sign a 1 year, $10.5 million deal with the Giants. Cardinals were also interested in him but their late bid wasn't enough to sway his decision. According to ESPN, the Brock Osweiller expected to decide between the Broncos and Texans for a new deal. Recently rejected the original offer the Broncos gave. |
Broncos D-line players cashing in. Broncos also cut Owen Daniels. Which means are we really going with Virgil Green?
Now Brock has me worried. If he goes I really, REALLY don't Elway to go after Robert Griffin the has-been. Gotta be someone else out there. Draft ain't promising for QBs this year, right? |
Brock is an idiot if he leaves Denver.
|
I'm not sure how i feel about Osemele going to Oakland..what ever i guess
|

Still think Dallas would have made the playoffs if they stuck with Weedon too.

Mario Williams on his way to Miami.

Supposedly they plan on keeping Cameron Wake too
that's a looooot of money tied up on their D-line... |

Charles Johnson admits that he came really close to signing with the Giants, but took a discount to stay in Carolina. God dammit...

Already the oldest player in the league, Adam Vinatieri is going to keep on going as he signs a 2-year extension with Indy.
Weird to think that he's going to officially be a Colt longer than he was a Patriot. |

Wasn't really a factor. Dropped some key passes that could have won us an extra game or 2. Owen Daniels was better, and he got released. |
Janoris Jenkins to the Giants

Lions already hard at work trying to replace Calvin... Marvin Jones signed
