For those of you that get SI, there is a cool article this week written by Chris Ballard that follows through 6 days in the AL Central.

Best part of the piece (besides it giving some much needed love to the ALC) is what he wrote for the Sox/Angels make up game. He talks to my friend and former co-worker Amy, my old boss Denise (I slept with one of her daughters), and goes to my local bar (owned by a friend of my family and its two blocks from my place).

He even mentions a night where McCarthy & Jenks showed up there (I ended up drinking with Jenks for most of the night).

Good shit.

*It's the 2006 College Football Preview issue with Quinn, Zbikowski, and Thomas from Notre Dame on the cover if you happen to see it at a newsstand*

Hinske was looking good in his role this year. I don't know if he could put together the type of first year numbers he did, but he was valuable in Toronto this season... moreso than I thought he'd be. I wish him well. He remained positive in his diminshed role, something you couldn't say about Hillenbrand.

Hinske strikes out at the worst possible time. I think that why I disliked him so much, because he wasn't bad in the field

ct2k 08-18-2006 02:25 PM

Ok so Derek Jeter is currently .378, 3 HR, 58 RBI, 1.014 OBPS in 111 AB W/RISP. Clutch?

SHUT UP.

ct2k 08-18-2006 03:03 PM

:D

ct2k 08-18-2006 03:13 PM

But seriously Jeter = hitting .080 higher than Ortiz w/ RISP

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-18-2006 03:54 PM

Hinske has looked pretty good thus far, can't really say the same for the pitching. Well I guess Johnson was alright for the first few innings can't really expect much more out of him

ct2k 08-18-2006 03:58 PM

Johnny Damon eh, i'm obviously having to track this on mlb gameday, whats the reaction like for him after hitting a 3B and HR already?

Can't wait for Mussina/Schilling on sunday:y:

OssMan 08-18-2006 04:01 PM

Anyone who has MLB.TV, have you downloaded the mlb.tv mosaic, and if so, did it work. It never works for me sometimes the games load but the screens just come up black but the audio plays. Or sometimes nothing happens

ct2k 08-18-2006 04:07 PM

How much does mlb.tv set you back Assman?

The Miz 08-18-2006 04:49 PM

They take it out of his lunch money

Loose Cannon 08-18-2006 05:58 PM

Did you Sox fans enjoy watching Damon just completely tear your team apart today?

ct2k 08-18-2006 06:06 PM

Jesus we destroyed Boston:|

Game 2 prediction, BOS 26-2 NYY

$50 for the whole season

ct2k 08-18-2006 06:40 PM

what specs dya need?

FakeLaser 08-18-2006 07:27 PM

We should have won even bigger because Manny Ramirez shouldn't have hit that home run, as the previous pitch was clearly strike 3.

Dunno, but if you can run any of these team highlights easily

then you'll be fine

not disagreeing or anything but if that pitch was strike 3, they would have thrown different pitches to the next hitter and it could have completely changed the game...i think about these things a lot like if you take one step to the right instead of the left you completely changed the world.

OssMan 08-18-2006 09:14 PM

LOL endy chavez!

ct2k 08-19-2006 02:32 PM

My god Damon is on fire:| Starts the game off with another EBH

The Miz 08-19-2006 02:39 PM

I bet ARod haters will use that inning to bash ARod, but not Mr. Perfect who completely wasted an out

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-19-2006 02:48 PM

Already shitfaced....if the Red Sox lose today im gonna rage

The Miz 08-19-2006 02:48 PM

LOL Bernie. Is there anybody Beckett won't give up a home run to?

ct2k 08-19-2006 02:58 PM

And another double from Damon

The Miz 08-19-2006 02:58 PM

26. Jim Thome
27. Mark Ellis

29. Aaron Boone
30. Travis Hafner
31. Shin-Shoo Choo

WHO'S NEXT?!?!?!?!?

ct2k 08-19-2006 03:02 PM

Ty Wigginton twice, ouch

Beckett's era is over 5 and has been around there for most of the season, he'd fit in equally well on the CWS rotation imo, massive run support making up for average pitching:y:

So yeah, Mussina/Wang > Beckett/Schilling

The Miz 08-19-2006 03:21 PM

Schilling has god on his side though

FakeLaser 08-19-2006 03:34 PM

It was pretty obvious that Beckett was gonna suck. At least in my eyes.

Loose Cannon 08-19-2006 03:49 PM

jesus christ. when the Yankees fuck up, they really fuck up. everything is going wrong.

Loose Cannon 08-19-2006 03:51 PM

lol, I think Torre just drank Jeter's piss.

wooo, double play

The Miz 08-19-2006 04:05 PM

Hey remember that time I got shitted on for saying Oakland's pitching would be much better than CHW, NYY and BOS this year

1. Detroit 3.68
2. Oakland 4.13
...
5. New York 4.36
....
9. Chicago 4.59
...
11. Boston 4.77

RoXer 08-19-2006 05:12 PM
