I'd rather play the Ravens than the Steelers tbh. The Ravens can't put up points. Really, it doesn't even matter. Either one will be a good game but we are in too much of a roll. The defense is playing better than it ever has, we are able to stop the run, and the way its looking now, the Steelers better get these Chargers under control

ClockShot 01-11-2009 06:52 PM

Spags' cell phone is probably getting bombarded by calls for a head coach job right now.

All announcers make big things out of that stuff, that being said it really was a classless move and he realised that when they asked him about it after the game.

Called a friend of mine who is from philly and a big eagles fan, he was watching the game with his dad and when I mentioned the phone they said "yeah, we weren't happy with that".

that being said, it's not a huge deal, he will get a fine from the no-fun-league but it was a classless move.

Hey now Tom Brady couldn't beat the Giants when it counted most. Donovan did.

So it is safe to safe assume McNabb is the greatest of all time.

and Brady beat Mcnabb when he had T.O...

so... how does that factor in?

McNabb is a great QB, I've always been a fan of his, but he goes through these stretches where he makes horrible decisions... when he's on he's one of the best.

His size, speed and arm gives him the best skills of any QB out there.

McLegend 01-11-2009 07:48 PM

That's all become null and void now since #5 now owns Eli Manning and the New York football Giants.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-11-2009 07:56 PM

It's great that Philly won and I'm sure you're super excited but that's a really fucking stupid comment.

Big Fat Mike 01-11-2009 07:57 PM

Im actually depressed. What does RP do every time the Colts get knocked out?

I can't say that I'm surprised by the G-men laying a giant egg today(no pun intended), but that doesn't make it sting any less. You have to have a better gameplan considering Eli Manning doesn't have a strong enough arm to make throws in the wind that he had to deal with. You can say all you want about that Championship game last year in Green Bay, but it was cold as shit, not windy. Also, I would have been content with running Jacobs into the ground, literally. Should have had more than the 19 carries he had today. Just not enough for a guy who is so effective against one of the best defensive units in the NFL.
And Im pretty sure that John Carney has a reputation of falling apart late in the season, and in the postseason. 44 year old legs get tired, no matter what kind of shape you get yourself into. It's unfair to expect the guy to be able to kick darts with a frozen ball in 25 mph winds.
Defense did a great job, but you can't go to the well in the middle of a drought.
That being said, the Eagles were just the better team. They had a better game plan, they were better coached, and they did a better job of executing. Let's see if they can do it against a high octane Cardinals offense when theres no ridiculous cold or wind to help them out.

Obviously

indubitably

UmbrellaCorporation 01-11-2009 09:58 PM

HOLY SHIT.

THANK YOU, STEELERS, FOR SAVING THE NFL FROM SAN DIEGO.

Seriously. I am so ridiculously happy right now that SD got blown out. I'm hoping for a Steelers/Cards SB right now. :D

Evil Vito 01-11-2009 10:19 PM

Ravens/Cards would be ROFL. Completely unpredictable.

Evil Vito 01-11-2009 10:40 PM

Josh McDaniels is the new Broncos head coach.

Innovator 01-11-2009 11:06 PM

3rd and 20, Giants miss McNabb and he throws 21 yards to Jason Avant

CMON, summed up the defense down the stretch

Congrats to the Eagles, McNabb should be getting himself a great contract in the offseason

Innovator 01-11-2009 11:07 PM

BTW, I hope you make it to the Superbowl and Polamalu pushes your shit in

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-11-2009 11:16 PM

Still don't see any type of problem with the phone. I mean it wasn't necessary but I wouldn't call it "classless" He just picked up the phone for literally one second, its not like he spiked the ball in a players face or something. It's not like he shot himself in the leg with it either...

I really don't see how its any different from celebrating in the endzone or after a first down and I'm not an Eagles fan at all. I'm curious if people would have the same reaction if the announce team didn't jump all over it right away.

Gonzo 01-11-2009 11:54 PM

Still fucking steaming over the terrible performance put in earlier. I had such a bad feeling since the Eagles were coming in hot. Kevin Gilbride has to be one of the worst playcallers in the NFL.

Innovator 01-12-2009 12:08 AM

Fuck Gilbride in the ear

Shadow 01-12-2009 01:22 AM

I'm calling Ravens/Cards in the Superbowl.

Now that's gonna be a great game.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-12-2009 01:51 AM

Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler will love having Josh McDaniels as their head coach - I'm curious to see who he brings in as the D-Coordinator. Wonder if he is gonna take Dom Capers or go a different direction.

Also say goodbye to the days of Denver pumping out 1,000 yard rushers...

Shit. Really wanted Spags or Fraiser. Bowlen's asking to keep around most of the offensive staff.

As for Defensive Coordinator, word going around is that Mike Nolan is gonna get the job.

ClockShot 01-12-2009 01:40 PM

Also, Tony Dungy is supposed to be calling it a career.

Those fucking Giants must learn that in order to win, you have to be able to run AND pass. Jacobs can't do it all. Plax is missed, and the Eagles defense was ruthless with the 4th & 1 possessions. Eagles v. Ravens/Pittsburgh in Superbowl.

As for the Cards, big ups to them, as they were supposed to be blown out by the Panthers. Fitz is the fuckin man and is the best receiver in the league. He is making Warner look so good right now its not even funny. But that ass has to feel Dawkins, Mikell and that Eagles blitzing!

Where's ASSMANI TOOMER

Bring that nose out GONZO

what?

How can you say anything about the giants needing to learn how to win when they won the superbowl last year. Also i'm pretty sure you just need to be able to run and play defense

I think the Eagles played well, but in all honesty the Giants playcalling on offense hurt them more than anything else did in that game.

Right and the fact that the Giants couldn't bring down McNabb on 3rd and 20 played no part in the outcome of the game.

Gonzo 01-13-2009 12:03 AM

I never said it didn't. All I said was that I think the playcalling by the Giants on offense hurt them the most.

McLegend 01-13-2009 12:37 AM

1) Eagles Defense

2) Eli Manning

3) Donovan McNabb

4) Playcalling

Gonzo 01-13-2009 12:55 AM

Theres no denying the Eagles defense was playing unbelievable, but in all honesty it got to the point where I could call out the Giants playcalls presnap watching on TV. If I can do that, then so can the Eagles. The Giants just made it so easy for them. I don't want to take anything away from Philly because they are on a roll, but for all intensive purposes I hope they crash and burn (not in the literal sense). Props to them and all but I hope they get the shit kicked out of them, if not next week then in the Bowl.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 01-13-2009 12:59 AM

Eli Manning played like absolute shit in that game, not only passing the ball but running as well. That QB sneak attempt was pathetic. I mean the Eagles defensiveline did a good job of standing up the center but Eli could have still dove underneath for the first, instead he just ducked his head and ran into the centers back like a retard.

McLegend 01-13-2009 01:35 AM

Eli was the worse player on the field.

First play from scrimmage he threw a duck to a wide open Steve Smith I think it was. Basically then the game over, because Eli can't throw in the wind.

Johnny Vegas 01-13-2009 11:53 AM

I mean some of the plays were predictable by the Giants, but with the 3-headed monster that was the Giants' running attack, we still held them down. When you put the game in Eli Manning's hands, you are either going to get 1.) Last year's SB strech Eli or 2.) 2005 Eli. I've always said that Eli is DANGEROUS when he is on a roll/winning streak. When he comes off of a bye or hasn't been playing well lately, he is either going to have to depend on the running/defense or PLAXICO.

The Eagles DEFENSE knew exactly what to do. Get in Eli's face and stop the run. Jacobs was supposed to be the factor and in the red zone/30 yard line he is pretty damn good. But that stingy defense stopped them.

And our offense was acceptable. Could've put up even MORE points but didn't take advantage of the red zone. Overall, Eagles played better and planned better for the Giants. The problem with the Giants is they think they will either win from Jacobs, Plaxico, or Eli. Going to have to stretch it out a little bit more than that.

Johnny Vegas 01-13-2009 11:54 AM

As far as us crashing and burning, in all fairness, i expect that from division rivals so :)

Mr. Monday Morning 01-13-2009 05:31 PM

Pioli has agreed to join the Chiefs.

Only way is up, DM.
