Cardinals get: DE Vonnie Holliday and a conditional draft pick
Redskins get: RB Tim Hightower |
you have that backwards. The Cards get the pick.
|
Yeah my bad.
Dumb trade either way though. The Skins already have a bunch of RBs and I have zero faith in Beanie Wells. |

I don't think it's a big deal that Eli didn't go out of his way to try and get Plax. It just means he's content with the receivers they have now. I'm sure he would have been happy to have him back, but it's just not a huge deal.
I tend to agree. He'd have been a nice end zone threat, but I'm not sure he'll be able to run the longass routes he used to. I miss seeing him go 40 yards downfield only to make the leaping grab above the tiny cornerbacks. |

Tavarius Jackson starting QB for Seattle. Hmmmmmmmm.

Giants OK Osi's agent to seek trade.
|
Hopefully for Buffalo's first round pick.
|
Early speculation is that the Giants won't be able to get more than a 2nd rounder for him.
Reese said on WFAN today that the Giants will once again be over the cap if Bradshaw re-signs...necessitating more restructuring. That doesn't even include Boss, Amukamara, etc. signing. Sounds like the grace period with the fans from the SB run is over, a lot of fans sound ready to run Reese out of town for getting the Giants into cap hell. I thought releasing all of those OL would give them enough wiggle room for the rest of the offseason, but I guess not. I expect Eli to take heavy criticism in the media if he doesn't voluntarily restructure. As though its his responsibility to restructure before being asked. |

3 teams in one season and almost nothing in stats after week 5 or 6. The Titans deal was horrible because he barely did anything while the Titans QBs did nothing. |
Denver interested in Osi, because apparently they need a 30th DE
|
their all defensive end strategy is brilliant, fuck defensive tackles
|
I thought Tebow was playing DT this season?
|
Nah, Tebow is playing RB this year. They might make him a DE next year in Denver. Especially since Derrick Harvey is a waste of a signing for them.
|
oh ok
|
Who is the Bengals QB going to be this year Supreme?
|
Jeff blake
|
Never heard of the guy.
|
You've never heard of Pro Bowl QB Jeff Blake? For shame.
Anyway, probably gonna be Bruce Gradkowski for at least half the season. Don't see Andy Dalton being ready by Week 1. |
Hmm so Oakland's old backup QB, the one that won games, will be a Bengal now. Cool.
|
I want to see Trent Edwards get some time in Oakland, so the Black Hole Consumes him and his pathetic play.

Gonna be the FB blocking for Ray Rice now. Ray Rice is gonna have a huge season if what he did for Foster last year isn't a fluke. |
Eagles sign Ronnie Brown. Vick, Young, and Brown will probably all be on the field on more than one occasion - leading to the craziest Wildcat offense you've ever seen.
Madden 12 is gonna be unplayable online. Everybody will be using the Eagles. |
lol Rams sign Norwood. This Free Agent period has been ridiculously awesome for us
|
Norwood will get injured, so it won't matter. Great player, but can't fucking stay healthy.

Former No. 3 pick Joey Harrington was seriously injured on Sunday night when a bicycle he was riding was hit by an SUV.
Harrington remains in a Portland, Ore., hospital with a broken collar bone, punctured lung and a cut on his head. The injuries are not life threatening and the former Detroit Lions quarterback is expected to be released on Tuesday. He suffered the injuries after an SUV ran into him from behind. Harrington was biking home in an area without bike lanes when the driver, a 26-year-old man, drove too close and hit him. The man stayed with Harrington after the accident and cooperated with authorities. He later was cited for following too close. Harrington's father said his son was wearing a helmet and was extremely lucky that the injuries weren't worse. "The impact … put him up on the top of the car," John Harrington said. "Joey ended up upside down and came down on his head and shoulder and then skidded off to the side." In his six-year NFL career, Harrington accumulated a 26-50 record, throwing for 79 touchdowns and 85 interceptions. He was drafted with the third pick of the 2002 NFL draft but never could recapture the magic he had at the University of Oregon. He led the Ducks to a 25-3 record during his career and a win in the 2001 Fiesta Bowl. Harrington last played in the NFL in 2007 when he went 3-7 with the Atlanta Falcons. |
That's horrible. Seemrd like a really good guy.
|
The Colts are doing work on FA. Ernie sims, jamaal anderson and tommie harris? Money. Colts are officially going to the playoffs now.
|
I seriously feel like the Colts have made a superbowl contender now.
|
Sounds like the Giants have lowered the asking price on Osi to a second rounder.
They were never going to get a 1st rounder since the new CBA means draftees make less money. But the fact that they officially dropped their asking price shows they want him out of town. I just hope the final decision is made soon so that they can just move on from it. |
That Ronnie Brown signing doesn't really set my world on fire, but I guess it's not a bad signing.
I doubt he plays a crucial role. |
The circus act continues, Giants rescind permission for Osi to seek a trade.
Hope that's the end of it. Either he plays or he kills his own value by holding out all year. |
As usual, the Steelers sign noone of note.
|
49ers with the worst free agency I can remember.
|
|
49ers the favorite so far in getting Braylon Edwards and have the cap space to give him a nice deal in terms of money. If he does sign, ESPN is rumoring it would be fore 1 year although a 2-year deal could be possible with only the 1st guaranteed.
The Giants shut down the trade window for Osi and are keeping him for the season. The biggest problem was nobody wanted to match the 1st Round pick demands from the Giants as a start. |
I'm a little late on this, but...
Donovan McNabb seriously needs to STFU about the Eagles. He's not even necessarily wrong, but you play for The Vikings now. Get over it. |
Braylon Edwards needs to come to Jacksonville.
|
Quote:
I seriously expect us to have another Super Bowl hangover and possibly miss the playoffs. |
LOL you've gotta be fucking kidding me. Osi is now considering getting knee surgery and sitting out the year if he isn't given a new contract or traded.
So he wants to get paid...yet he's content getting his second surgery in 3 years, killing his value further. Not to mention the Giants still have him under contract for another year after this. By the time he's a free agent, he'll be over 30 with multiple surgeries and a bad attitude. I partly think that the Giants should have just moved him for a 2nd rounder and hope the pick pans out - just to get this cancer off the team. But seeing him willingly sabotage his career to make a point is hilarious. |
Quote:
|
At this point I'm more concerned that Amukamara still hasn't signed. Sounds like it's a classic case of a guy falling deeper than anybody thought in the draft, but he feels he should be paid like a top 10 pick anyway.
|
Maybe the Giants should stop being cheap assholes.
|
There is a structure now, so Prince can fuck himself. He hasnt done anything in the NFL to hold out for more money.
|
Come on Braylon Edwards, you big jerk. Sign with San Francisco.

lol apparently the 49ers very publicly shopped Taylor Mays to every team via an e-mail. Then signed Donte Whitner who had already announced he was going to the Bengals on Twitter. Go go gadget internet
|
Yeah. Story broke here - Local Sports host literally received a text from whitner stating he was signing with the Bengals.
3 Hours Later he Tweeted that he was going to the 49ers. What a dick. The Best part? 3 years for under 12 million. The Bills offered him 4.5 to 5 per year during the season for 4 or 5 years. He turned it down expecting to make 7 Million per on the Free Agent Market. Bills said fuck off, and now here he is , making much less. |
Teams have until tomorrow to be cap compliant and the Raiders are $15mil over

Prince finally signs
Now that the Giants brought back David Carr on a cheap 1 year deal, they probably should cut Sage Rosenfels. Coughlin generally only carries 2 QB on the active roster anyway and Sage is inexplicably due to make $3 million. That money could be used to bring back Boss. |
Too late for that

shit.

Fuckkkkkk. What a mess of an offseason.
Guess its put up or shut up time for Travis Beckum to prove that he can be an offensive playmaker. But he's too small to block, so I'm expecting to see plenty of Ben Patrick now. Terrific. |
Rob Ryan looks fucking pregnant
|
If I'm Reese, I now say fuck it and offer Osi to the Seahawks for John Carlson and a 2nd rounder. Decent replacement for Boss and they get rid of the headcase.
|
Steelers resign LaMarr Woodley to the 2nd highest deal in team history at 6 years, $51 million.
Jets released Cotchery after the team agreed to his request due to him feeling the team didn't want him. So far the Jets have lost 3 WRs and only brought in Plax who is hurt right now. The bidding for Derrick Mason is at 4 teams with the Ravens and Titans as favorites and the Browns as a wildcard if they offer a huge deal. The Jets are also interested but are not willing to offer a large contract to get him. |
Giants bring back Dave Tollefson  Always loved that guy.

AdamSchefter Adam Schefter Cannot confirm.... RT @sportsintheATL: I see that Ed Werder has broken up with Favre and is now dating Tebow. best tweet |
The Rams will make the NFC Championship title game.
|
Derrick Mason signs with the Jets even though he could have gotten more money elsewhere.
Cortland Finnegan walks out of Titans camp due to a contract dispute but as of now it is not being considered an official holdout. Vikings reveal McNabb gets $5 million for a 1 year deal with $2 million extra as incentives. DeSean Jackson ends his holdout with the Eagles and the team itself is willing to work on a contract extension. He ended up being fined about $330,000 for 11 days of missed camp or about 60% of what he made last year. |
Well...guess we WON'T be seeing a lot of Ben Patrick at tight end for the Giants, because he just retired abruptly 5 days after signing.
Then Prince Amukamara broke his foot in his second ever NFL practice. 8-8 might be a generous prediction at this point. |

Honestly though, it never gets old hearing fans of quality franchises predicting the coming apocalypse because something like their kick coverage is weak or their third string tight end has turf toe. You guys have it rough, man.

In his HOF speech, Deion Sanders mentioned that when he was younger, he was ashamed of his "momma", due to her working as a cleaning lady in hospitals and stuff, and his peers making fun of him for that. His solution? Becoming rich and famous so his "momma" wouldn't have to work as a cleaning lady.
