... which is why it was a failed cash-in. He failed to cash it in.
Also, |
Or DID I?
I'm aware there have been a ton of failed cash-ins though. Not what we were talking about. I was saying no one has ever actually gone through all the steps to cash it in and then had the ref just inexplicably not ring the bell to start the match. That's what didn't make sense. |
I totally thought there have been multiple instances of the ref having the case but the match not starting for whatever reason.
|
Can't think of any. I definitely feel like I would have had the same "... What the fuck?" reaction I did tonight.
|
Closest thing I can remember was Bryan cashing in on Henry and then Teddy Long kinda calling an audible and making the match never happen because Henry wasn't cleared so he gave Bryan the case back. That actually made sense though.
|
Referee's hands were full. Couldn't call for the bell. Made perfect sense!

I know Del Rio had at least one time where he tried to cash in the case only for himself to get knocked out cold and it didn't count (vs Punk after MitB 2011). |
there were a couple times Punk tried to cash in before he cashed in on Jeff Hardy where Umaga interrupted

The Del Rio one last year, he literally ran into the ring with the case and immediately got kicked in the head. |

I forgot about that "The champion has to be on his feet for the match to start" thing too. They hyped that up before even though they ignored it a couple times I think. Even then, they don't even have that excuse this time though. |
Fucking security made me scratch out my TPWW sign...assholes.
|
Also had a "Juan fears Whiteyford" sign

I stayed away from the site starting on Friday till after I watched the PPV.
I marked the fuck out over Ziggler, about god damn time he gets a serious push. Loved the AW shit, hillarious as hell and can draw heat on that mic when needed. Also, how much you wanna bet that "oh hell naw" he pulled on the mic will become a gimmick. Punk/Bryan was sick. I was wondering if that handle was a botch or if that was what the finish was supposed to be. Calling it now, somehow Rock ends up with the WWE title....and here comes Cena to screw him out of it for revenge from Wrestlemania. |

This is almost entirely how I would have booked the PPV. To be honest, I do think that Punk and Bryan should have main evented, but whatever.
* I absolutely love that Primo & Epico vs. The Primetime Players made the show. I sort of expected this. Also, lately, Primo has been getting the best of Darren Young & Titus O'Neil. I really like that, because while Young & O'Neil have the title shot in their back pocket, it makes Primo & Epico look like a real deal tag team that have been screwed over unjustly. They need some promo time to explain themselves a bit more and work on that connection with the crowd. Truth be told, I thought I was crazy in predicting this a while back, but I kind of thought after No Way Out that a TLC Match at SummerSlam between Kofi Kingston & R-Truth, The Primetime Players and Epico & Primo was a possibility. With Kingston kept out of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, I kind of think that we might get that. * Ryback beating Curt Hawkins & Tyler Reks was the logical progression to everything they are involved in. Called that, too. Hawkins is fucking amazing. I still like Reks more than I like Ryback. * John Cena should cash in the WWE Title at the 1000th RAW after announcing that he'll cash in at SummerSlam. |

I had a feeling that Bryan would win the WWE Championship at MITB, then on Raw, talk about how great he is and how AJ loves him and all that jazz. CM Punk would then come out, challenge him to a rematch the next week at the 1000th Raw. Then at the 1000th Raw, Bryan somehow wins in typical sneaky cowardly heel fashion, but is beaten up really bad, then Cena's music hits and Cena runs to the ring and cashes in his MITB. The match begins and all Cena does is hit Bryan with an Attitude Adjustment and gets the pin. Cena becomes WWE Champion at the 1000th Raw to close the show. |
I still think there is a big chance Cena could cash in at the 1000th Raw though.

- ZIGGLER! Although he needs to tone down his bumps so he can have a long career.
-Loved Del Rio's black boots. He is still not quite clicking for me though. -Cena winning was meh but his reaction got a good chuckle from me. -No real idea where they are headed for SummerSlam, but I guess that is a good thing. |
So will Cena be fined for giving Big Show head shots with the briefcase?

I just hope they let Ziggler cash-in in a wrestling city (Chi-town Philly etc.) That moment alone just because of all the cheers Ziggler is getting lately could be pretty epic.

Just adds further creedence to my outlandish claim that Juan is in fact Alberto Del Rio.
|
it's not that outlandish

I scratched out the tpww.net, but did a half ass rewrite attempt during the show. I did attempt getting the sign scratched out and all, on the show, sheep said he saw it. |
Yeah having ".NET" was what done it.
I've seen signs that have just had "TPWW" on them make it on to WWE TV. Though it does get me thinking how even those signs make it past security, as "TPWW" sounds like it could be another wrestling promotion. |
Yeah well fuck that noise. Was funny to see myself on TV most of the night when I got home and watched the replay. Also amazing how much I looked at the fucking screen during matches, which I could have done from home.
