LOL
Bwahahaha. I hope that's a line in an eventual Aquman film.
If having an aged, curmudgeon old Batman is going to work, Clark is going to have to be more upbeat. Rumors have stated that Supes will be far more positive and his usual self. |

It would have been too perfect so it should be done with someone less than perfect. Makes TOTAL sense |
And it's actually something casting/actors consider. So yeah.
I'm not getting it how is perfect casting bad?
It's bad if you're just blatantly copying your rival studio. WB/DC is already facing an uphill battle doing this Justice League project in the wake of the Avengers; the last thing they need to do is make themselves look even more derivative by hiring the exact same actors.
Just because she played a mythical warrior woman in another film does not make it perfect casting. Just typecasting/unoriginal/uninspired.

Unless they have her show up at the beginning of Nitro and throw the Aether in the trash can. That would be a coup!

Captain America has the momentum, though... last movie was really good, and will be coming off momentum of The Avengers 2.
Will definitely hold its own. |
Ya, but if I had to decide between Capt America 3 and Batman/Superman guess which one I would go to watch first? Captain America will mostly end up being compared with the DC movie an average person watched a day/week/month ago.
It all depends on how the trailer looks. I don't care how iconic Batman and Superman are, a movie that doesn't convince in the trailers isn't going to beat out a follow up to one of the best superhero movies ever.
Actually there's been compelling reasons why one of them should back down on that date. A major one being there's simply not enough IMAX screens in the country to support both Justice and Cap 3. If neither backs down I'm betting IMAX themselves would convince them to.
To be honest, I doubt Marvel really care. So what if Batman/Superman blows Cap 3 out of the box office, there's still no way DC could ever hope to catch up with what Marvel have already accomplished.
In my opinion, anyway. |
And judging by most people's reaction on here just to that one Batman pic alone when it was released, the trailer could literally be a two-second clip of that image and a soundbyte and people would probably start ejaculating online about how awesome it's gonna be.
Those last two posts looks like I'm angry, but I'm not. For some reason I read them back in an angry voice.
Quote:
It's case by case. And also why I said long ago that DC building a film universe like Marvel is out of the question. 'Doing it right' is something only we would care about. DC needs a team movie now and they can sweat the world building later. |
Well, it doesn't look like it's changed from the MoS suit, but I guess that makes sense. It looks like the colors are a little brighter, though, so that's good.
Cavill seems more buff. Dunno if it's just the perspective.
Yeah he looks even more buff.
Also the poster is set-up with an awkward background; betting it's a two-piece. Another poster with Batman full-color revealed (using the city backdrop to suggest they are facing each other) will debut at comic-con perhaps. |
Also the yellow is more prominent in the belt area.
It looks like all the plastic-looking bits and pieces are a little less prominent in this suit, too-- they're still there, but they don't stand out so much from the rest of the suit now. So that's another improvement.
I feel like this is just an old picture with some photoshopped shit into the background and what not.
Don't think they shot the actual Gotham locations yet, so they mocked up the skyline.
hmmmm, interestingggg. There are subtle differences. Storyline-wise, not sure why, since the suit appears to be his only suit.
Everytime I see the words Batman/Superman or Batman v Superman I think of this:

Very happy with the belt portion, thank you.

Ok, maybe I was wrong about her look. At least in that picture.

oh sweet!

Apparently they played a teaser as well.

Bit more. I read a description that there's zero dialogue, so we don't get the Batfleck voice. |
Can't get much worse than Bale doing his angry Stephen Hawking impersonation.

Good god.

Very positive. I am down with everything revealed so far.

She looks like a kardashian
Lol I can see that resemblance.
cant help but notice they compensated on the chest plate for Gal's bust.
The chest plat has been made more prominent before, and I think if they wanted to show cleavage they could have. That thing looks tight.
Six months ago it seemed like this movie was never going to get made... Now it seems like there almost finish with what they have reveled so far.
Check it out before it gets taken down.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/gn4fBnWy7Ys?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I will forgive Affleck for everything if he fucks up Superman in the movie. |
Too late.
I saw a real shitty shitty version. Still gave me a boner.
Genuinely don't see this teaser as anything special. But whatever...

Still haven't seen Man of Steel or any Superman film ever, actually. Might watch it so that I can sort of follow what's going on here though. Have zero interest in Superman really though, and don't exactly like Batman as a character either, but I'll most likely end up seeing this at some point so I may as well start it all now.
Maybe the films will change my opinion of Superman. |
The first 10 mins or so of Man of Steel are great, based on Krypton with Russell Crowe as Jor-El, but after that it is kinda "meh;" not even my penchant for Amy Adams could help.
I would love to see a kind of "prequel" leading up to the events of the beginning of the film, in the same style as that seen in MoS. |
You know in that clip up there, the way people are so excited and are all "HOLY SHIT!", is that just over-excitable nerds/people in the "spirit" of the convention? Or is that what it's like in American cinemas in general?
I can kinda imagine going to see a film in America and you've got people cheering and hollering throughout with a bunch of shouts of "Look behind you!" and other nonsense. Can't imagine anything in a cinema bringing me to the point of loudly screaming "HOLY SHIT" in a crowded room full of people also trying to watch it. |
They give standing ovations in the cinema over there. So uncouth.
Remember when I went to see Star Wars Episode 3 and bunch of guys just went absolutely mental when they first showed the Vader armor. Like half the cinema looked back at them and they just slowly shut up.
The closest I came to going holy shit in a cinema theatre was when they showed the Aston Martin in Skyfall. That's about it. No one here really gives much more than a chuckle at the movies.
I personally find it annoying when people clap at the end of movies, like we all just sat through some highly sophisticated Broadway play.
Sophistication doesn't have a lease on satisfying applause. If people enjoyed something let them at it.
Agreed.
I had the unfortunate opportunity to watch Ep. 3 midnight premier and couldn't here a thing the entire movie. These idiots clapped, cheered, whistled and hollered for everything. They popped for Obi Wan's jobber droid for fuck's sake. Turned me off completely to midnight showings. |
I've only ever been to a midnight showing once (I mean, I've been to some night marathons, but not a premiere midnight showing before). Went to see Lord of the Rings, was never interested in Tolkien but my first were so pumped to see this I decided I might as well go see it. Feel asleep like 10-15 minutes into the movie and woke up during credits. Such a waste of money.
Can someone with decent skills photoshop the Joker's eyes and mouth in the cape? It looks like it has a huge grin so that gave me the idea.

I've done that. Go for it.

Kalyx, you didn't find it difficult to clap and swallow at the same time?
lol

He was prolly making his booty clap.
Ya know that rib would also implicate you as well, Alva? I was co-signing your post.
Some of the hype for this got me a little bit interested, so I decided to check out Man of Steel.
It was pretty shite. All interest has died. |
Yeah, seems to be a love it or hate it film.
I enjoyed it to be honest. The fight scenes were just what we need in a Superman movie.
I'm not overly pumped about this film at the moment though. Mainly due to two things: 1. It's Batman and Superman. Again. I don't care if they're together. I'm fed up with these two. 2. The "fanboy-ism"... not that it's really that much of a bother, since I'm the same with most Marvel films, but people screaming and ejaculating and being all "YESSSSSS" over every picture. The Batman costume doesn't really seem any different than all the other Batman costumes over the years, and the Wonder Woman one looks like a big-budget Xena costume. And Superman is Superman. I'm interested and am excited, but I dunno, I feel this year is a few years too late, and without any hype for the other characters. |
Well, considering that Xena's costume was modeled after Wonder Woman's, it's not exactly a huge surprise that a modernized Wonder Woman costume would look like Xena.
I do agree, though, that a lot of DC's movie-verse feels like it's too little, too late. I will never let go of the fact that Marvel got fucking Rocket Raccoon into a major motion picture before DC could get Wonder Woman, and not even in her own movie. As much of a fanboy as I am for Superman and as great as Batman is, it'd really be nice to see the rest of the DCU get some spotlight-- this is going to be Superman's seventh movie, and Batman's eighth-- ninth, if you count the Adam West Batman movie. I'm glad that they're finally getting their asses in gear and being serious about getting Wonder Woman and Shazam and the others on screen, but Marvel's already cornered the big-superhero-movie market, and did so with movies that weren't as depressing and self-serious as Man of Steel was. So.....yeah, it does feel like they're just trying to play catch-up. I will say, though, that DC's looking a lot better on TV. Arrow's been kicking ass (even if it is just "Green Batman"), the Flash looks super-fun, and I'm really digging what I've seen from Constantine. It's a shame the "A-list" heroes don't seem to be a part of the TV-verse, because they're doing a much better job of what the DC Universe should be like (at least to me). |
what baffles me is their refusal to connect their established or establishing 'verses.
DC animated and TV universes are way better in my opinion but those aren't the big money areas. Marvel has them beat where it counts- for now.
I mean, casting Jo Levitt as batman would have connected that universe, and throw the dude from Arrow in the cast and all of a sudden you have a much larger universe that really adds credibility all around.
I also find to be honest that a lot of Marvels animated movies are really underrated, and whilst some of DC's are good, they're not all as amazing as they're made out to be.
Superman/Doomsday (one I was really excited about watching) only had Doomsday in it for the first 15 minutes... the rest was the same old tired, worn-out Superman vs. Lex Luthor bullshit. Nowhere Man pretty much summed it all up perfectly in his post above. Especially the bit about Quote:
Also the fact that Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern won't be a part of it, and I'm not sure but I don't see the guys from Arrow or Flash etc being in it either. At least Marvel's Agents of SHIELD ties into the movieverse.

Just making the yellow on the waist more prominent is a big improvement for me. There's more faux muscle than before, like Henry needed that.
Cape looks brighter too. Real happy about that.
Now if only he would accidentally put his underpants on the outside. |
I really liked the suit Man of Steel I didn't see a problem with it.
This suit appears to be good to so it's all moot. |
Already said I was not going to another movie until this comes out. I hope it kick starts a DC comics movie boom similer to Marvel.
Didn't see the need to change his suit, though it being brighter will be a nice contrast to what is likely to be a very drab suit for Bats. Love his hair, though.
Still not willing to "throw my hat into the ring" with this. The costumes are not getting me to buy in.
I will not buy into any hype for this until it's released and reviewed. While all the official photos and one leaked video look great, I revert to the original, which looked amazing and ended up being a huge let down. I have zero faith in Snyder, and while the new writer can't be worse than Goyer, doesn't mean he's going to better either.

Seeing Cavill with the hair not slicked back, and actually genuinely smiling.... makes me see his potential. If only they didn't insist on slicking his hair back and making him "serious". |
