SOMEONE FETCH ME A KLEENEX. |
Gay. pikmin.
|
What's wrong with Pikmin?
|
Pikmin is okay, but I'd much rather see Megaman, Ridley, Geno, Mallow, someone like that.
Even so...pretty cool. Still wish we had a complete comprehensive list. Waiting this out sucks. |
Snake: Final Smash
Grenade Launcher Snake’s Final Smash is the Grenade Launcher. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ke_080110a.jpg What is he calling in...? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ke_080110b.jpg Suddenly he does a great jump! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ke_080110c.jpg Choppa-choppa-choppa! Snake grabs the rope ladder the helicopter drops and takes out his grenade launcher! So, the thing to do is shoot, right? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ke_080110d.jpg Poom! Poom! Poom! You control the targeting reticule and press the attack button to fire grenades one at a time. There are six rounds, and when you run out... http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ke_080110e.jpg ...he loads a new clip? How can that be? It ends when you shoot 12 rounds or run out of time. Snake then climbs back up to return to battle. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ke_080110f.jpg Yep. He makes his exit. It’s probably better to just shoot all your rounds rather than run out of time leaving ammo behind...but if you just shoot indiscriminately, your shots may be dodged. When there are two or more enemies, it might be a good idea to hit one while he is being attacked by the other, or something along those lines. |
Pretty hot.

Meh. Pikmin.

Megaman would make this game mega addictive

Pikmin & Olimar: Special Moves
Captain Olimar is among the most specialised characters within the cast of Smash Bros. Brawl.
In order to really unleash Olimar’s full potential, you’ve got to have a good knowledge of his helpful cohorts, the Pikmin! Standard Special Move: Pikmin Pluck http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111a.jpg Pluck, pluck, pluck up Pikmin. First, uproot a few Pikmin from the ground. You can have up to six Pikmin at one time. As long as there is ground beneath your feet, you can reach down and pull up a Pikmin, but be aware that certain Pikmin are more likely to appear in specific types of flooring. There are 5 types of Pikmin to use! - Red Pikmin - http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111b.jpg
- Yellow Pikmin - http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111c.jpg
- Blue Pikmin - http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111d.jpg
- Purple Pikmin - http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111e.jpg
- White Pikmin - http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111f.jpg
You can work out which Pikmin you will attack with next by looking at the order they are lined up in. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111g.jpg You’ll use a Red Pikmin in your next attack. In order to perform a Smash Attack, certain mid-air attacks, and even throws, you’re going to need Pikmin! Anyhow, just do your best to not kill off your platoon. Olimar doesn’t stand much of a chance by himself. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111h.jpg Pikmin don’t have graves, you know. Side Special Move: Pikmin Throw Throw Pikmin that latch on to your opponent! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111i.jpg They’ll cause an enemy’s damage percentage to slowly rise! Up Special Move: Pikmin Chain If you think you’re about to plunge to your doom, this right here is your best chance for survival. The recovery distance for this technique is dependent upon the number of Pikmin currently in your troop! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111j.jpg Just imagine what would’ve happened if you had had one less Pikmin! Down Special Move: Pikmin Order Call back Pikmin who have managed to separate from you. You can also use this technique to shift a new Pikmin to the front of the line. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111k.jpg Tweeet! Line up, everyone! So there you have it. I bet you’re a little confused by his eccentric play style. But don’t fret! It’s easier than it looks. Spend some time playing around with him. That’s key. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080111l.jpg Whoa, the battlefield sure is crowded today... |
I have to say: that's a cool recovery.
|
That recovery is easily one of the ten greatest things I've ever seen happen in a videogame.
|
Seriously, though. It's up on the same list as Dahlia eating a fetus in Silent Hill 3.
|
......yeah, he's not as lame as I thought.
THIS GAME IS GONNA ROCK! |
29 days :|
|
Apparantly Snake and Sonic are unlockables. If they are then do you think anything else we've seen has been an unlockable? I was wanting surprises left for me to discover on my own but I've probably seen everything in the game now without realising it.
|
They should not even mention Megaman and just put him in the game. When you beat Adventure mode with Snake and Classic mode with sonic you unlock him. That would rule.
|
Quote:
|
With the last two games, they didn't release the unlockable characters until after the game was already out. Dojo hasn't said explicitly yet whether or not Snake and Sonic are secret characters, nor have I seen any other really reliable source put it down for sure.
Chances are good that there's still unlockables o'plenty. |
Some Japanese magazine called "Coro Coro" did a big thing about Brawl, some guy translated it and said the magazine said Sonic and Snake where unlockables. Anyway, I'm hoping the Dojo doesn't give away all the unlockables.
|
doesn't it come out in Japan soon?
|
This month. By the time we get it 'Stateside, there will probably be no doubt as to who's on the full roster.
There's still no sign of alot of the classic characters--while Pichu, Roy, Marth, Ness, and Dr. Mario are pretty likely to get the boot, I don't really know why they'd abruptly get rid of Luigi, Game & Watch, Jiggs and Captain Falcon. Especially Captain Falcon, since F-Zero has Assist Trophies in the game already. I keep thinking Falcon might be unlockable if they switched up his appearance dramatically--there's talk of redesigning him for future F-Zero games. |
More specifically, it gets released on 1/24 in Japan.
|
ALSO, the revealing of Snake and Sonic are understandable. Snake was the big hype getter from the very first trailer, and was there to make sure everybody knew third parties are okay now--let it sink in before you get any further, y'know.
Sonic was revealed because--let's face it--if they hadn't, news of the pushed back release date would have started fanboy riots. |
I hope Roy will still be in....I kicked ass with Jiggly on some stages.
|
With Ike confirmed, I don't think Roy's going to make it.
|
Some BS info confirmed for brawl:

There is a bunch of Smash Bros events over the next few days so we should get a lot of info.
I didn't see it mentioned in any of the above posts but Smashville has the Animal Crossing main theme as a BGM. |
I have to say I was hoping for a Rosalina alternate costume for Peach, but I guess I'll deal.
|
For the record: of the characters I frequently use, Peach is the only confirmed to return. :| My Brawl mains include Ganondorf, Luigi, and Marth.

fuckin Walmart Online had a special sale Friday that had the game at $19 to Preorder. I missed it by an hr.

Challenges
Trophies, stickers, music...
Super Smash Bros. Brawl certainly has its share of rewards for you to collect. Among them all are several for which I’ve set certain appearance conditions. So, to help you manage these performance-based rewards, I’ve created the Challenges mode. This mode gives you hints about what you need to do to unlock these items! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...22_080114a.jpg This is the Challenges screen. It’s totally empty. I’d say that if anyone saw this empty screen in-game, it would be an extremely rare occurrence. Each one of these windows has some condition or other that will unlock it. When you meet a set of conditions while playing through the game, its window will automatically break open. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...22_080114b.jpg KSSSSHHH! Then you get what’s inside! If there’s a CD inside, you can listen to that CD on the spot. When a window breaks, you’ll see a red silhouette of the windows on either side. When you align the cursor with these windows, you can see the conditions for breaking them open, too. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...22_080114d.jpg As you can see... Use this to take on challenge after challenge so you can earn more, more, MORE prizes! It’s much easier to get excited about it when you know what you have to do. By the way, you can use as many Golden Hammers as there are down below. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...22_080114e.jpg Even windows that aren’t open... http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...22_080114f.jpg ...can be broken open with a little force! But use the hammers at your own discretion. Once used, a hammer will never return. You’ll want to save them for challenges you just can’t seem to overcome. Oh, but you should also know that there are some windows even a trusty Golden Hammer won’t break. And be careful of friends who might egg you on. I mean, imagine you have a hammer, some pristine glass, and a friend who just keeps telling you to break the glass... It makes you want to break it, huh? |

Distant Planet
Pikmin’s protagonist, Captain Olimar, was forced to make an emergency landing on this unexplored planet.
Let’s just call it the Distant Planet for now, shall we? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...22_080115a.jpg The flooring in the middle of the stage is made of vines and is very bouncy. As you play, you’ll see numbered Pellets fall from the Pellet Posies around the stage. Grab one of these and throw it into a nearby Onion to get items. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...22_080115b.jpg Here’s a Pellet and an Onion. Also, this planet experiences frequent torrential downpours. When things get wet, you’ll want to stay away from the hill on the left, as it gets pretty treacherous. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...22_080115c.jpg Whoa, that’s some fierce rain right there! Oh yeah – there are some fierce creatures prowling the area, so watch your step. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...22_080115d.jpg You sure it’s safe to stand there? ......What am I saying? Of course it’s not safe! Anyway, take care that you don’t get gobbled up. |

I'm not sure why he has delayed it again. Maybe he wanted to have a worldwide release so he's delaying it until the PAL version is done (I think Japans release was delayed for a week or two aswell). It's probably just a shipping problem though.
After the delay was announce his wikipedia page was vandelised with a bunch of stupid things like him being killed by angry fans etc. GameFAQS poster seemed to take the delay very personally :wtf:. |
|
asshole
|
This sucks. And I just put $10 more on my reserve today.
Then again. I did hear something that there's the slim chance of Mega Man being in the game. |
So does that mean the EU release date is something retarded like August?
|
Most people think the PAL version will be released around May. It wouldn't surprise me if it was August, actually.

Sheik
Use Zelda’s down special move to transform into Sheik! Once you do so, you’ll have access to a completely different character. Sheik doesn’t appear in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but we based her model on a design that was drafted up during the development of that game. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116a.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116b.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116c.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116d.jpg Sheik's Special Moves Standard Special Move - Needle Storm Side Special Move - Chain Up Special Move - Vanish Down Special Move - Transform Final Smash - Light Arrow |
They have update every characters profile page with a list of their specials and their Final Smash.
So they have let us know the name of Olimars Final Smash. It's called "End of Day". edit - The Japanese magazine "Famitsu" reviewed Brawl and gave it 40/40. Making Brawl only the 8th game to ever get a full score from them. Apparantly, Famitsu is a pretty important magazine in Japan. |
Sheik satisfies me, despite a f;ajf;jakfj;jf;fucking delayed release date.
|
Twilight Princess style Sheik!!! Zelda's the baddest bitch in Nintendo!
|
This now proves the Zelda is gonna put Princess Peach in her place in this game.

Pikmin & Olimar: Final Smash
End of Day Captain Olimar always makes sure to return to his spaceship before nightfall when he’s out exploring new planets. Why is that? That’s because night-time on these planets is absolutely teeming with scaaary wild beasts! To avoid an encounter with those creatures, Olimar takes to the safety of space during the night. So how could we represent this idea in Brawl...? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117a.jpg First things first. Get that Smash Ball! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117b.jpg There’s Olimar’s ship! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117c.jpg Blast off! The ship soars higher and higher into the stratosphere. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117d.jpg Stars fill the sky above. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117e.jpg Wild beasts everywhere! Aaaah! Characters left behind on the ground take lots and lots of damage. But dishing out damage alone won’t score you points. The more people in the brawl, the more damage you can expect this attack to do, but beware – another opponent may steal the KO you’ve worked so hard to set up. In a one-on-one match, this Final Smash won’t deal as much damage, but hey, there’s no worry that someone else will steal your KO, either. I guess you could call this balancing the gameplay, huh? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117f.jpg The ship comes crashing back to the battlefield with a huge explosion! Maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch someone in the blast? |
Sticker Power-ups
Your battle against the Subspace Emissary will be one of epic fury. Naturally, you’re going to want to do everything you can to strengthen each character for the fight ahead.
And that’s where stickers come into the picture! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118a.jpg These should do the trick. Did you think those stickers were just for collecting? Well, it seems you thought wrong! The truth is startling, huh? Each sticker houses a special power-up. For example, some will up your attack power, others bolster the damage from fire-based attacks, and some even keep you from flying as far when you take a hit. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118b.jpg You can find the details of each sticker’s power-up ability here. On the Map screen, select the Sticker option to move to the sticker-application screen. You can switch between characters with the L and R Buttons. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118c.jpg Here’s a shot of the underside of a trophy base. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118d.jpg Now slap down one of the sticky stickers you’ve collected. Generally speaking, the bigger the sticker, the more dramatic the power up. The more stickers you put on a trophy base, the more powerful that character becomes, but you’ll need to consider your placement and sticker choices carefully as space is limited. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118e.jpg Fill in those bare spots with little stickers... Leave no space unused! When two stickers offering a similar power-up are placed on a trophy base, only the more potent of the two power-ups will take effect. So, for example, if you had [Leg] Attack +4 and [Leg] Attack +6 stickers on the same trophy base, the added [Leg] Attack bonus wouldn’t be +10, it’d simply be treated as if you’d only put down the +6 sticker. You should always remember to maintain balance in your sticker selections. Also, some stickers can only be placed on certain characters. Stickers whose range of usage is limited in this fashion are proportionally stronger when placed appropriately. Do your best to find a good place for each sticker. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118f.jpg If you find placing down stickers yourself too much of a bother, just let the game do it for you by selecting Random. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118g.jpg Once you’re ready, apply all the stickers at once! You can adjust the position of stickers until you choose to apply them, but you can’t place stickers on top of each other, so you’ll occasionally need to remove old stickers to make space for new ones. Once you peel off a sticker you applied, you lose it for good! So take care when you lay down your stickers. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118h.jpg Stickers applied to a trophy base take on a grey tint. Also, for some reason, you’re able to readjust the position of an applied sticker on its trophy base. So while removed stickers are gone forever, you’ll be getting stickers left and right as you play – you’ll probably find that sticker you lost again. And, if you only use stickers you have doubles of, you’ll never lose one from your collection. Plus, as I’ve said before, the higher you set the difficulty in The Subspace Emissary, the better your chance of running across rare stickers. Going back to a previously-completed stage and cranking the difficulty up for a second run is a good way to round out your sticker collection. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118i.jpg If you retry a beaten stage, you can adjust the difficulty level. But if you should die and find yourself at the game over screen, be prepared to lose half the stickers you collected. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118j.jpg Nooo! What a waste of good stickers! Finally, remember that stickers are only of use within The Subspace Emissary. Sorry to say it, but they’ll be of no use to you in standard brawls. |
Sounds very interesting to me.
|
Ahhh, fuck them for delaying it again
|
Yeah, but only by 1 month. It's not all that bad.
I hate to repeat myself but at least the US has a date. |
I just sucks (kind of) for me because the release date is during my school finals :o
|
I hope Subspace Emissary is long enough to make the sticker thing worth the trouble.
Also, because huge adventure mode = Delight. |
Someone that's good at maths from another forum said, judging by the "3% clear" in the top right part of the second last screenshot in todays up, there is probably around about 33 level in Adventure mode.
I don't know how he figured it out because I'm useless at maths but I pointed out that maybe the 3% clear actually means just the level that is highlighted is 3% clear. Maybe by collecting stickers, trophies and defeating enemies in that level, the precentage for the level goes up. Either way SSE is going to be pretty long considering it was said it would take roughly 10 hours to go through. Although, they always exagerate the time. Remember they said Twilight Princess would take about 60 hours and almost everyone did it in about 11-15 hours. |
Wasn't the 60 hours estimate for TP for going through all the sidequests, item hunting, etc?
Because I got up to around 40 hours when I finished it :-\ |
Im gonna get this for my B-Day then

Pretty sure it was. We'll get Brawl in the summer at the latest. Some places say Q2, GAME says May and the latest issue of Official Nintendo Magazine says summer 2008. I'm hoping it'll be April/May but you know how long Nintendo take to give us anything in the UK so summer seems the most likely to me.

nah I'm gettin it march 9th

Zelda: Final Smash
Light Arrow In the final battles of many of the games in The Legend of Zelda series, you didn’t want to be low on arrows. A lot of times they were Silver Arrows, though... Zelda’s ace in the hole is the magical Light Arrow, which you can use even as Sheik. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121a.jpg Ready for the Final Smash! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121b.jpg Draw the bow tight... http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121c.jpg Fire! A beam of light pierces your enemy. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121d.jpg Your enemy is blown away by a tremendous force! When you’re using Sheik, some of the characteristics of the attack will change, like the direction your opponent gets knocked in. It’s good to use the character whose attack is best suited to the cover on each stage, but you probably shouldn’t worry TOO much about that. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121e.jpg After all, once they’re hit, they’re pretty much done for. If you’re just playing one-on-one though, the Light Arrow might be easy to dodge. Try to create a situation where you have a good shot. |
Nintendo leak 3 characters.
Nintendo leaked 3 characters in the 5 minute Japanese trailer I posted above.
At 4:20, when it shows you the sticker album, if you pause it and look at the botton right corner it shows the faces of the characters the sticker is for. One of the stickers gives away *Character spoilers. highlight to read* Jigglypuff and Lucario are in. Then, if you pause at 4:21, it shows that *More characters spoilers* Ness is back. *end spoilers* |
I don;t see what your talkin about
|
Apparently, Nintendo edited out alot of the original videos.
If you believe this whole mess--and it's the Smash Brothers community, so I'm not entirely positive that I do yet--then that video right there is the original. When it shows the sticker album at 4:20 and 4:21, and different stickers are highlighted, you can distinctly see tiny face icons in the white bar beneath the book. These faces are supposed to represent characters that the stickers are attached to. Again, it's Smash Bros fans, who are notorious for faking and/or misinterpreting shit like this. If you buy the whole story, though, then the face icons for Jiggs, Ness, and Lucario are visibe. The YouTube's so fucking blurry that I can't tell jack from jack shit, but I guess I'll take everyone's word for it. |
On second glance, the Ness and Jiggs faces are very, very distinct. Especially Jiggs. I wouldn't be surprised if that were someone's face besides Ness's, but that's 100% Jigglypuff right there. The Lucario, I'm still not too sure about.
Again, that's assuming this is totally legit. The "Nintendo edited out the videos real fast" story is hilarious, whether it's true or not. |
What the hell is Lucario?
|
|
To be fair, alot of people do want it in. I just disagree with its inclusion if they're ditching Mewtwo for it.
|
Meh. Pokemon past #151 are lame.

For the most part, yeah. I don't honestly know what the hype's about.

Manaphy
It’s Manaphy! This Pokémon also appeared in a film. This Manaphy is quite different from the other Pokémon that appear in this game. So much so that you’ll think, is this even possible?! Or words to that effect. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122b.jpg It appears from the Poké Ball! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122c.jpg Heart Swaaaaaaaaap! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122d.jpg ......... Nothing happened...? No. That is not so. Why, Zelda and DK have switched bodies! Wait... You mean, I’m her, and she’s me?! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122e.jpg AAAUUUGGGHHH! You have to fight as your opponent for a while! They say it’s good to know your enemy. But you haven’t really swapped places, so if you jump off the edge, it counts as a self-destruct for you. And your damage meter remains as it was. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122f.jpg After a certain amount of time, you go back to normal. Phew. Good. Things always seem to end well in this game, don’t they? |
Iwata Asks
There’s a webpage nestled within Nintendo’s official site where Mr Iwata, President of Nintendo Co. Ltd., interviews other Nintendo employees. This corner of the website is known as "Iwata Asks".
For some reason, I, Masahiro Sakurai, was invited to one of these interviews. Wha--? But I’m not a Nintendo employee! I-is this OK? Are we seriously doing this? Oh, is that so? All right, well, if you insist! I imagine this interview should give you a tiny glimpse behind the curtains to see what creating Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been like. So I stumbled across the starting roster for the game. *spoilers, obviously*
Disc art Screenshot of the starting roster Obligatory short, blurry video of roster |
cant wait to check out link's new moves and of course how sonic plays
|
Well, Link plays just like he does in Melee but he can charge up his up B (the one where he spins around with his sword)
Sonic is apparantly very very fast and good at mid-air attacks. |
Mushroomy Kingdom
Ah, the Mushroom Kingdom. Most Smash players will recognise this place from previous games in the series, where the world was represented in a pixel-art style reminiscent of the original Super Mario Bros.
But why the "y" on the end of "Mushroom"? What’s the difference? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...23_080123a.jpg Oh, so that’s why! This time around, we’ve designed a stage that recreates the layout of World 1-1 in Super Mario Bros. – but with rich backgrounds added to the mix. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...23_080123b.jpg The stage scrolls forward at a leisurely pace. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...23_080123c.jpg Pieces of familiar scenery scroll by. The kingdom you once knew has turned to ruins over the long years, and it is now your battlefield. You’ll get to enjoy a wide range of familiar structures. Also, since the stage slowly scrolls sideways, battles here will require you to come up with a very different strategy for winning. Oh, and when you select this stage, it will occasionally load an alternate underground stage! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/stage...23_080123d.jpg This is the famous World 1-2. This one’s also quite charming. |
The 2nd update today is music for the above stage. The song is called Super Mario Bros.: Ground Theme

I could have heard wrong, but that's what I heard. Again, I'm skeptical of anything and everything not on Dojo because goddammit, the Smash fanbase keeps making shit up and Photoshopping shit and etc. Even with the video, that could very definitely be fake. |
And if you're wondering why I think it's bullshit--not counting the fact that it looks like Bigfoot footage--is this: look at the roster pictures. They're identical to the pictures on Dojo. :| Like they were just cut and paste into tiny squares.
|
I heard queensaki (the person that uploaded the video to YouTube) was the creator of some incredibly popular Smash Bros tournement in Japan and got the game a few days early. I don't know why that would entitle him/her to an early disc though.
I don't understand why SB fans fake stuff but I'm inclined to blame GameFAQS. |
Test Battle: Tokyo vs. Kyoto
While it’s true you can battle over Wi-Fi, your connection environment and the distance between players can cause great changes in speed. That fact would probably make you a little uneasy.
So, we conducted an online battle between Nintendo’s headquarters in Kyoto and the development team in Tokyo. The distance between Kyoto and Tokyo is about 500km, or 310 miles. Here’s the video of that match. |
Yes, that was the only update today :/
but Japane got a different match to watch: |
Masterpieces
Well, what do we have here...?
http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125a.jpg Yes, that’s Super Mario Bros. Several memorable characters compete for brawl supremacy – that’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl in a nutshell. But what about the past fights for each of those characters? What were they like? It may sound impossible, but you can experience those battles in Brawl as well! That’s right, for the first time ever, you can play trial versions of these games by the miracle of Virtual Console! That’s what Masterpieces is! Here you can relive the greatest battles of the biggest star characters through demo versions of their games. Here are some of the titles you can expect to see available in Brawl. Crazy, isn’t it?! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125b.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/image...world_w_14.gifIce Climber (1986, NES) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125c.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/image...world_w_10.gifSuper Mario Bros. (1987, NES) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125d.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/image...world_w_09.gifThe Legend of Zelda (1987, NES) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125e.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/image...world_w_18.gif Kid Icarus (1987, NES) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125f.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/image...world_w_04.gif Kirby’s Adventure (1993, NES) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125h.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/image...world_w_06.gif Super Metroid (1994,Super NES) http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125j.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/image...world_w_03.gif Lylat Wars (1997, Nintendo 64) Whoaaa. Makes my head spin just seeing all those. You won’t need to be connected to Nintendo WFC to play these games. Just remember, there are some NES classics in there as demos, so expect some of the time limits on those games to be so short that all you can do is laugh at how hard they are. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125k.jpg I’m almost...at the top! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125l.jpg Ahaha! Oh man, out of time already?! That’s what a good demo is all about. It gives you just enough to let you appreciate the game. Plus it’s a lot of fun to see just how far you can go before the little time that you have runs out. If you take a liking to one of the trial versions, you can always buy the full game through the Shop Channel! You might even find a couple of titles that divert your attention from Brawl for a while. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...23_080125m.jpg Some titles come with save data. But hmm, it seems there are still titles hiding in the Masterpieces section. Titles?! What games don’t I know about?! That discovery is part of the fun, isn’t it? Masterpieces are called masterpieces for a good reason, and each of the well-loved characters here come from a past that is worthy of that title. To end, I’d like to take this opportunity to send my thanks to all the game creators and affiliated parties who helped in making this possible. |
This mode is useless to me because I already have each of those games in one form or another.
The Japanese version wil also get Fire emblem and Mother 2. I don't think we will. http://www.smashbros.com/jp/gamemode...23_080125g.jpg Fire Emblem http://www.smashbros.com/jp/gamemode...23_080125i.jpg Mother 2 |
Fire Emblem was pretty cool.
Mother 2 was -amazing-, however. I remember buying that huge box with the game, strategy guide, and the air fresheners. Good times. |
