Orioles get: Phil Nevin
Padres get: Sidney Ponson

Good trade for the Orioles, Nevin will probably play DH or OF for them. Ponson is just getting worse and he is no good with the O's anymore. Nevin has to clear waivers for his no trade clause before they can make the trade

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-23-2005 11:43 PM

Manny goes yard again..89 RBIs boyyyyy

YOUR Hero 07-24-2005 01:53 PM

O's traded away Ponson to SF a couple yaers ago already. What a joke. He's good stillI suspect, but the O's are reaping a very good player in Nevin. A real RBI guy with good power and average. Too bad the Jays couldn't have gotten him... although they've got no pitching to have traded for.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-24-2005 09:42 PM

That Red Sox suspected trade is looking better for me now, since they got Cora and Graffanino. They can fill the void at 3rd til Youk is ready to step up and play. The one not playing 3rd can play 2nd base too, to keep Bellhorn on the bench haha

OssMan 07-24-2005 11:59 PM

OMG the cubs. sweeet

MoRcHeEbA 07-26-2005 07:08 PM

did I hear today Manny wants a trade out of Boston now? Jays should trade for him... give up Hillenbrand and Chacin for him... they've got money to spend so they might aswell SPEND IT

OssMan 07-26-2005 07:52 PM

oh man :( eli marrero so close to an inside the parker :(

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-26-2005 09:16 PM

Manny isn't getting traded. He doesn't want out of Boston either.

Fucking Clement just took a liner off the back of his head. I know this sucks for the Red Sox but it sucks even more for him. It looked real serious - I hope he's alright.

FearedSanctity 07-26-2005 09:19 PM

I'm calling it now......

the Rockies will win the World Series...

in the next 50 years....

maybe.

Sepholio 07-26-2005 10:32 PM

Sweet, the Braves just took first place in the NL East from the Nationals. They were playing the Nationals, and had runners on first and second with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th, and Washington brings in a new pitcher and he pegs Giles to load the bases then walks in the winning run on 4 straight pitches to Andruw Jones.

His team must really hate him right now.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-26-2005 10:33 PM

Sox just tied it up in the 9th

YOUR Hero 07-27-2005 10:06 AM

Manny to the Yankees for Tanyan Sturtze

OssMan 07-27-2005 02:24 PM

what the hell, when did they move Tropicana Field to Boston :|

The Miz 07-27-2005 08:08 PM

LOL the Rangers are going after Sidney Ponson. Look out AL West!

RoXer 07-27-2005 11:39 PM

D-Backs sent Jose Cruz to assignment.

Chad Tracy to RF
Shawn Green to CF
Conner Jackson/Tony Clark 1B

OssMan 07-28-2005 05:06 PM

lol they barely even show any Nationals games here. Their main "deal" is with UPN but they are always showing Everybody Loves Raymond and Comcast Sports always shows the Orioles. I couldn't even watch them play today on TBS because it was blacked out here

Loose Cannon 07-28-2005 10:54 PM

Chacon was the man for the Rockies in 2003. Great to see him getting out of that shitty pitchers park.

FearedSanctity 07-28-2005 10:58 PM

Yeah, was

But in Colorado you have to be young and good or named Todd Helton, or else your ass is gone

YOUR Hero 07-29-2005 12:05 AM

Blue Jays sweep the Angels. Tonight a 2-1 win in 18 INNINGS (can't beat the shittier teams though :mad:/:wtf: ) Oh by the way, Orioles, just overtook them for 3rd in the division.

The Miz 07-29-2005 12:10 AM

LOL Angels pitchers are the man at throwing wild pitches. And cheating.

YOUR Hero 07-29-2005 12:25 AM

LOL, they lost last night in the 10th ( ithink) by tossing a wild pitch with a Blue Jay on third base.

CNM 07-29-2005 01:20 AM

LOL Chaq

RoXer 07-29-2005 02:43 PM

Apparantly, there is an article in the Chicago Sun Times just blasting Dusty Baker and other Cubs problems in general. I'm intrigued to read it, but I'll have to look for it when I come back.

The Miz 07-29-2005 09:47 PM

Shannon Stewart is out for the season. Playoff chances for the Twinkies are slim to none now

Loose Cannon 07-29-2005 09:50 PM

you mean Tori Hunter?

The Miz 07-29-2005 09:50 PM

I get all the blakc people on the twins mixed up. I typed Jacque Jones and erased it

Loose Cannon 07-29-2005 09:51 PM

lol, I got Jones and Hunter mixed up forever

OssMan 07-29-2005 10:54 PM

FRANK BIG HURT THOMAS THAT ONE'S OUT

for the season

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-29-2005 11:10 PM

Schilling with his 4th save after the Mike "I suck at pitching" Meyers gave up a 2 run homer to make it a save situation in the 9th

Loose Cannon 07-30-2005 03:52 PM

wtf, when did Alan Embree join the Yankees. I hate that guy and he's just fucked everything up. jackoff

Dragon 07-30-2005 03:53 PM

Embree with his Yankee debut faces two batters. Gives up a hit to one, and then Figgins bunts and Embree throws a bad throw to first into the stands.

3-2 Yankees with no outs and two men on.

Loose Cannon 07-30-2005 03:54 PM

wow, great fucking bullpen

Dragon 07-30-2005 03:55 PM

Gordon comes in and gives up a two run hit. Angels are up 4-3 now.

Should of let Chacon go a little longer.

Loose Cannon 07-30-2005 06:32 PM

haha

Zito is about to win his 7th in a row. Although I don't want to A's winning anymore, it's good to see him being the man again. Cause he is the man.

OssMan 07-30-2005 07:04 PM

yesssss i went to the orioles game today finally, pretty good game but Cabrera left in the second after being hit. Mets have a better record than Orioles now :(

MVP 07-30-2005 07:25 PM

Shit, Manny got scratched from the lineup tonight. :(

The Outlaw 07-30-2005 07:52 PM

JOSE GUILLEN COULD YOU PLEASE GET OFF OF CHIPPERS NUTS

Thank You.

The Miz 07-30-2005 07:57 PM

Manny not playing tonight for the Red Sox, what's weird is that Cliff Floyd isn't playing tonight. Floyd rarely sits and this is a pretty important game against the Astros. Cliff Floyd hates Boston but this could be part of a 3 team deal

Loose Cannon 07-30-2005 08:00 PM

the drama. I like this

The Miz 07-30-2005 08:04 PM

According to mlb.com, Red Sox sign OF Raul Modesi :o

Loose Cannon 07-30-2005 08:05 PM

ESPN is saying Manny is out because the Sox know he's a little distracted and they just don't want to play him.

MVP 07-30-2005 08:21 PM

Yeah that's what it is. Huff and Cameron are both in the lineups tonight.

The Outlaw 07-31-2005 01:46 AM

So Manny gets Boo'ed Friday night but they chanted "Manny! Manny!" tonight.

Make up your mind Sox fans.

VonErich Lives 07-31-2005 10:59 AM

So, the Rockies are pissed at the Red Sox.

The Rockies felt they had deal, Bigbie for Shoppach.

The sox said they were close, but never agreed.

The Rockies say they never would have delt Brynes for Bigbie w/o the other deal, but now they're trying to spin they wanted Bigbie all along.

The sox got Cruz, he's for late defense and pinch running (See: Dave Roberts last year).

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-31-2005 12:35 PM

He has 0 SB this year though

Didn't know that, but still gives them a late inning glove.

Especially if Trot's hurt and Millar stay in LF.

RoXer 07-31-2005 03:59 PM

D-Backs get Buddy Groom for a player to be named later or cash.

This division is sad. Too bad the Rox played so bad the first 2 months of the season. If they hadn't they might actually be in first place.

OssMan 08-01-2005 02:15 PM

The Miz 08-01-2005 05:14 PM

The Miz 08-01-2005 09:27 PM

Twins release 2B Bret Boone

:( :( :(

RoXer 08-01-2005 10:54 PM

The Oakland Athletics are better than your mother.

The Miz 08-01-2005 10:56 PM

It really is a shame they have a manager that awful

The Miz 08-02-2005 12:14 AM

I think the Twins are done. They just lost a game 2-1 against the A's with Johan Santana going against Joe Blanton (A's #5 guy). There is a great possibility of being swept and that would pretty much bury them. Their offense is AWFUL since the all-stear break and they have alot of games left with the A's, Red Sox, and White Sox. They better go get a hitter or two in the offseason

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-02-2005 01:01 AM

Red Sox where probably extremely distracted by all the Manny ish and they were still able to sweep the Twins last series. Never a good sign

The Miz 08-02-2005 02:55 PM

yea, I can't see any more posts. what the fuck

The Miz 08-02-2005 09:39 PM

Ryan Franklin has always been my favorite M to pick on but this is ridiculous. He had to use steroids to achieve a 6+ ERA, imagine how shitty he woulda been withotu them.

Our rotation is almost Ranger-bad now

The Miz 08-02-2005 09:40 PM

BTW, first team in MLB to have multiple cheaters

YOUR Hero 08-02-2005 10:11 PM

What do you think of his protests.. that he didn't take anything knowingly.

In Canada, we've heard this before (Ben Johnson), however, Silken Laugman (sp?) was also banned for... well I don't think it was a steriod, but something when she took one of those nasal mists.

Me, I'd like to believe him. Who knows though.

The Miz 08-02-2005 10:25 PM

I don't buy his excuses at all. Even if he is innocent, I don't care because we get to see an AAA guy for the next 10 days instead of that bum Franklin

YOUR Hero 08-02-2005 10:41 PM

I was referring to Raphy, BTW

YOUR Hero 08-02-2005 10:44 PM

You know, Palmeiro was under oath. If he has lied, and it is a known fact that he lied, he could face up to 5 years in jail.

I doubt they'd ever go after him, but it makes for interesting talk.

Terra Ryzin 08-03-2005 12:15 AM

David Wright is the man

NEW YORK -- Rafael Palmeiro said he didn't knowingly ingest steroids.
The Mets are trying not to make the same mistake.

"It's scary to realize that you can buy things at GNC or at a Vitamin Shoppe that could show up positive in a drug test," Mets third baseman David Wright said. "But on the other hand, we're professional athletes and we have to be responsible for what we put in our body and we need to check with our team doctors, our trainers to make sure what we do put in our bodies are legal and are allowed."

"I think it's still surprising," Wright said of the suspensions this season. "Maybe I'm naïve that nobody would want to cheat, to put things in their bodies that would give them an advantage over everybody else.

"But then again, I'm kind of 'old school' where I think that you get to where you want to be through hard work rather than having to take any kind of illegal supplements."

Wright, ever the optimist, repeatedly moved for the issue to be resolved, simply so everyone could remember what a great game baseball still is.

"I think the first thing to get back on the right track is catching these people who are using steroids and punishing them," Wright said. "Hopefully, it won't happen again. Hopefully, a year from now we're talking about pennant races and Wild Card races [instead of] steroid use and drug use in baseball."

Boomer 08-03-2005 12:15 AM

He tested positive for stanozolol, a potent steroid says ESPN.

Ben Johnson got stripped of the gold for it...

How about Raphy?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 08-03-2005 03:25 AM

http://images.sportsline.com/u/photo...img8699766.jpg

Manny knocks in 3 RBIs to boost his total to 97. Red Sox win it by one run.

YOUR Hero 08-03-2005 10:26 AM

Stanozolol isn't found in any supplement (if I remember correctly anyway..). That's the very same steriod that fucked over Ben Johnson.

RP 08-03-2005 12:52 PM

The Oakland " Bleeping " A's are doing it agaain.

Yes folks. Its time we shed a little bit of attention on , what i think is, The best organization in baseball.

I'm not a A's fan. ( Atleast i wasnt .. )

The Oakland A's were 12 1/2 games back of the Angels in May. They've since went on a tear winning 33-40 games. Unbelievable. They do this shit every year. Start out slow, then blitz there way to the top and make the playoffs. The messed up thing about it is, every year they lose all-star players. Giambi, Tejada, Mark Mulder, Tim Hudson, Keith Folke. Yet Billy Bean still gets this team re-stocked for the playoff run.

I'm a Cubs fan. Since my team seems to be falling hard of late. I'm jumping on the bandwagon now. GO A's

The Miz 08-03-2005 01:08 PM

They will mostly likely win the West, if they do they will lose to the Red Sox in the first round. If they win the wild card however they will play Chicago and probably sweep them. Amazing that they're doing this in a rebuilding year. 2006-8 are really their years

RP 08-03-2005 01:40 PM

They havent traded or signed anyone. They have the same roster they had opening day. Zito has been average at best. Mark Kotsay is like there star player.

RP 08-03-2005 01:41 PM

Billy Bean should run baseball.

OssMan 08-03-2005 02:30 PM

Yeah whatever Raffy took is "practically impossible" to ingest unknowingly :o

The Miz 08-03-2005 03:22 PM

What? They've picked up:

Jay Payton (HUGE upgrade over Spaz Byrnes, good power, clutch hitter)
Joe Kennedy (lefty long-man, gives them depth in the rotation if someone gets injured)
Jay Witasick (excellent setup man, along with Calero and Duchscherer they now have best RH setup in the league)

They've gotten rid of:

Spaz Byrnes (fast and good pop but stupidest player in MLB and defensive liability)
Chad Bradford (kills righties but they already have a Roogy and he si always on the DL)

Dan Johnson and Huston Street were not on the opening day roster; Johnson is leading the team in hitting and is 10000x better than Hatteberg and Street is the Rookie of the Year.

Zito is having his best year since 2002 (Cy Young). The stats are deceiving, he had one awful month but has been one of the top 5 starters in MLB the last 2 months.

Kotsay is good, yes, but the offense is anchored by Crosby Chavez and Kendall

Again, what?
