I love Larry Legend. He speaks the truth and dont care if he pisses off anyone in his organization. He's basically the law in Indiana. And really, who can question Larry Bird? Donnie Walsh and thats about it. Not on player on the team would dare speak against Bird. Ofcourse if they did they'd be traded ( Comon Stephen Jackson and Tinsley start some shit with Bird ) and they would be nationally recognized as being wrong and stupid for questioning a legend.

Suns WIN!!

Ninti the Mad 05-13-2006 01:39 PM

It really doesnt matter if the Suns win because they wont make it past the next round if they win this one.

Next season will be interesting though if Stoudamire returns healthy.

They'd have a shot against Dallas

Yeah, they were also beat in the LA series. And they were supposed to get beat by the Clippers. And they had no chance to do what they did in the regular season without there "most talented player". ETC. ETC.

Ninti the Mad 05-13-2006 05:56 PM

I dont think the Suns stand a chance against Dallas the way they have been playing lately.

I think the brackets this year for the playoffs are a little lopsided.

I hate the fact that since Dallas and Spurs are in the same division, one of them gets bumped to 4th. That is BS. Spurs/Mavericks should be a western finals matchup.

Whoever wins this series is going to have a much easier time with Suns/Clippers because of the intensity of the matchup.

Suns vs Lakers... Noone was really expecting Lakers to do as well as they did but they arent really a top calibur team to begin with. I thought both teams did mediocre and of course they are going to look brilliant making shots back and forth. Thats what happens when they lack defense. Guess what? Clippers arent gonna offer much defensive resistence either. The winner is going to come in and get cornered with such an absolute 360 in defensive intensity that they will choke while I believe /Spurs/Mavericks will get even more higher percentage shots.

I am interested in how Detroit will handle a top calibur team in Miami/NJ although I believe NJ is the only one of the two who I think can take out Detroit.

Just my take. The Suns wont be prepared for the defensive change.

loopydate 05-13-2006 10:20 PM

The Pistons played terribly tonight. They were really complacent and they were settling for ugly shots and they let themselves get rattled by a couple of calls. Not Detroit basketball by a longshot.

That's been a bad habit of this year's team. They're very very good (possibly "great" in the all-time sense) and when they play their best, they're practically unbeatable. But they have a tendency to kind of half-ass it like "It doesn't matter if we fall behind. We'll just make a comeback."

There's absolutely no excuse for losing a game in which they held LeBron scoreless for a fifteen-minute stretch. Hopefully, they bounce back in Game Four.

BCWWF 05-14-2006 04:07 AM

The thing that sucks about these playoffs though, it seems like nobody gives a shit about Dallas or San Antonio. Their first round matchups were relatively boring and now they are the better two teams playing each other, but I still don't care.

The good matchups have been the Suns/Lakers and the Suns/Clippers. They aren't the best teams, but they have cooler players, play more interesting basketball and the series' both seemed a lot more heated. I hate both the Mavericks and the Spurs, so I guess that makes me a Detroit fan right about now.

Is the team going to be any better? I mean, with the highest paid team in all of the league, what have they got to lose?

The Icon of Elisim 05-15-2006 05:48 PM

Brown did a terrible terrible job as coach, and its a legit thing to fire him. But its clear that the root of the problem is that Isiah is just a god awful gm. Theres absolutely no value to keeping him around as he will continue to run the team into the ground until their payroll is at 300 million, they have no draft picks until 2015 and they win fewer than 10 games.

SammyG 05-15-2006 06:12 PM

No one really knows.

I read a while back that he has the owner convinced that the whole "get as many good players as possible and ignore contracts, age and chemistry" will eventually work. I also read that he's convinced them that he's trying to get as many pieces as possible to trade for KG.

Jamal Crawford
Second round draft pick in 2010

SammyG 05-16-2006 05:12 AM

I'm not on any bandwagon. I just don't wanna see the Pistons and the Spurs in the finals again. Clippers-Mavs and Cavs-Heat would be sweet for me.

BCWWF 05-16-2006 03:30 PM

I don't want to see the Cavs win until they have a cooler team. Outside of LeBron the Cavs are one of the least charismatic teams in the league. Drew Gooden sucks. Although if the Cavs somehow pull off the victory, it will say a hell of a lot about LeBron. I still think he is a year away from making the conf. finals though.

As for the finals, I don't think it will be Spurs-Pistons because the Spurs aren't going to beat the Mavs. Ginobili is all of a sudden bad and Tony Parker always becomes a choke in the playoffs. I would really like to see the "Clip Show" make the finals, partially because I hate Dallas, partially because I like the Clippers, but I don't think they have the firepower to stop Dallas.

As for the Nets, they just disappeared. Weren't they big favorites coming into the series? Clifford Robinson shouldn't make THAT much of a difference. But Pistons over Dallas in the finals is probably the safest bet right now.

SammyG 05-16-2006 04:52 PM

Pistons Dallas would definately go 7.

Normally I'd make some cynical comment about the league's continuing thinly-veiled preferential treatment toward superstar players.

But honestly, the Pistons have played like shit the last three games. We saw in the first two games that - when they want to - they're twice the team Cleveland is. But they've played so fucking lazy since game two... Pisses me off.

Ninti the Mad 05-18-2006 12:53 AM

All because some people think they are bland. lol

RP 05-18-2006 05:06 AM

Please PLEASE let Lebron shut SHEED up for good. I'm so sick of SHEED'S guarantee bullshit. Play the fucking game. The first time he did it , it was cute, second time i chuckled , third time i was sick of it and i'm so happy the Cavs put it in his face. Fuck i hate SHEED. Sorry loop. I'm rooting Cavs all the way. Fuck SHEED!

WHATS A NIGGA NAME???????? LEBRONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN JAMES!

RP 05-18-2006 05:10 AM

Plus King James vs D Wayde in the east finals will be sick.

RGWhat316 05-18-2006 01:48 PM

Sucks how the Pistons are playing right now. Not to mention that the refs aren't helping them right now. Had a BS non-call when LeBron fouled Chauncey, and everyone knew it. Plus Sheed gets fouled for accidently elbowing Varejao, even though it didn't help his case by arguing. But then Varejao did the same thing later in the game to I believe it was McDyess, and did not get fouled. And Ben Wallace needs to head back to free throw school. I know that is not his strong suit, but missing all 7 of his shots in one game is unacceptable.

After the first two games, I really thought this could be a sweep. It's panic time now, and they really need to step it up.

I agree if the Cavs had won tonight they would have played Game 1 of the ECF against the Heat a day BEFORE the WCSEMIS Gm 7 of Phx and LAC!!!

It would be like the NCAA tourney having a set of 2nd rd games before a set of 1st rd games.

LOL @ calling Dallas bland. San Antonio is bland. Noone has ever accused Dallas of being bland. That's hilarious...

LOL @ this game though. Dallas makes more 2 pointers. Dallas makes more 3 pointers. Dallas outrebounded them. Dallas had more assists. Dallas had less turnovers. Yet they lose.

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2006 01:32 AM

You going to cry with Avery Johnson and blame the officials while the refs have consistently given Dallas more free throws this entire series?

Ninti the Mad 05-20-2006 01:35 AM

BTW, San Antonio isnt bland.

I guess they must be bland compared to other teams with loud, annoying, trashing talking people.

They dont gloat. They dont brag. They just play to win and I sure as hell respect that.

RP 05-20-2006 01:43 AM

I think Lebron is afraid to take the game winner/ tieing shot. He's always passing it instead of taking it. He did it tonight and got fouled with 1.4 seconds. You cant pass the ball . Especially when your down by three and your under 3 seconds. All the Pistons have to do is foul and its pretty much game over.

RGWhat316 05-20-2006 02:50 AM

Glad the Pistons are still keeping the series going. But it seemed they tried to give it away by constantly fouling Lebron. If they would foul someone, it shouldn't be Lebron because he makes nearly every free throw. Not to mention that Chauncey almost tipped the ball in on Cleveland's side.

But it is back to the Palace on Sunday, where Lebron's series will be over.

SammyG 05-20-2006 05:30 AM

For once, we agree.

Although I would like to see tighter scheduling (three days off between games is absurd), the fact that three out of the four conference semis went the distance this year is amazing. Whoever wins the title is going to have to earn it this year.

The start of this game is looking more normal for the Pistons. Had an early 10 point lead for most of the first quarter.

BCWWF 05-21-2006 04:08 PM

The Spurs are the definition of bland. Not only is Tim Duncan the most boring player, he has a boring personality and having black and white uniforms just make the game look even slower.

Crimson 05-21-2006 07:25 PM

Hubie Brown is a great color man. But Doug Collins gets on my nerves..if you notice throughout the whole Clipper/Suns series, he tells the perspective of the Suns every single fuckin time..and even in the Laker series the same godamn thing. So either A. he's just an east coast guy and since Phoenix is like a state closer to the east, he goes with them. B. He despises L.A. or C. He sucks so much he doesn't realize it. Umm..i'll go with D. ALL OF THE ABOVE

SammyG 05-21-2006 07:50 PM

WOW @ Detroit D. 61 points for the Cavs, god damn.

RGWhat316 05-21-2006 07:57 PM

As expected, Cleveland fell apart and Deeeeetroit took the win! I do hate it for LeBron as it seems he can do better than Cleveland. But when it's LeBron against a 5 star team such as the Pistons, there aint no way he can do it by himself.

But now we have to get ready for Shaq and Dwayne Wade. I would almost bet that this will go 7 games as well.

Splaya 05-22-2006 12:59 AM

You're down three with 3 seconds to go. Instead of popping the trey you drive and kick, which you get fouled in the process with 1.3 seconds to go. You make and miss the second. Game over.

You're either..

a) Afraid to take the shot

or

b ) Totally not ready to manage a game in the closing seconds of the playoffs.

I dont care what he did against Washington. It really doesnt matter. The fact is this. Most of the game winners this season Lebron has been involved in, have been passes that lef to the game winner. I think he's taken like 3 game winners all year. YOU DONT PASS THE BALL WITH UNDER 5 SECONDS TO GO WHEN YOU ARE DOWN BY 3! Its very simple. If you look to pass with 3 seconds to go . Any team in the league will foul you and make you take " 2 " shots and give them the ball back. It was just plain stupid and thats what ( imo ) lost that series for the Cavs. Cause whether you're a Cavs fan or not. You knew they werent winning a game 7 in Detroit.

The Outlaw 05-24-2006 02:19 AM

Yeah, totally dismiss his game winners to prove that he...doesn't take game winning shots.

They need to check there stats. I haven't looked at an official "box score" but I would think that it's overwhelming (10 or more) in the other direction.

Hot game tonight. Shaq dominated for...a quarter. That's all he really needed to dominate though. Walker is key in this series. He's been stepping up lately, but so has the whole team really.

SammyG 05-24-2006 04:33 AM

Wooo, Heat!

RGWhat316 05-24-2006 02:05 PM

Even though it was fun being at the game, the end result wasn't so good. Majority of the crowd left with like a minute to go when Pistons were down by 9 or so.

One of the funnier parts was there was almost a fight in my section. There were 2 guys wearing Dwayne Wade jerseys, and they were getting heckled by a few people. In the 4th quarter, one of the Palace staff actually had the guys change seats, and almost threw out the guys who were heckling them.
